What Erick wanted Savanna to write, or to be more precise, what Erick's boss wanted Savanna to write, was a letter to her family.
Savanna was asked to explain in the letter that she had gone out herself instead of having been imprisoned and tell her family not to look for her.
As long as such a letter was handed to the police, this case could not be treated as a disappearance or a kidnap.
