"I just don't understand what is so important that mother called for me in the middle of the night." Brandt whines as he fixes his jacket.

"Well, I am sure it is something that cannot wait until morning." Saga runs her hand on his back as if to straighten any wrinkles.

"Right. I just hope father has come back to his senses. After the whole magic show that the duchess gave us, he hasn't been himself. He hasn't even been attending council meetings."

"I think maybe it is time for you to take over, love." Brandt frowns at her. "Don't look at me like that, you know you are thinking the same thing." The prince is silent for a while.

'Maybe it is time for him to step down. I wonder what the elders would think of that.'

"Anyway, I will be here waiting for you to come back, keeping the bed warm." She beams.

"You better." He smiles and captures her lips one last time before he leaves.
