We are in together

The journey from London to New York city was a stressful one as the newly wedded couple just returned from their honeymoon.

Once they came out of the airport they took a taxi that brought them back to their mansion.

During the two weeks they spent together in London Ella couldn't help but notice the discomfort of Ethan, it seemed like his heart was not in the honeymoon.

It was as if he was only doing it to please.

Ella knew deep down that the issue worrying him wasn't attached to their marriage but still she couldn't figure out what has being hunting him, but she knew some how some how she was going to find out.

As days turned to weeks and weeks to month things kept on moving from bad to worse.

Ethan kept on distancing himself from Ella.

He was always at work, and he barely had time for her anymore.

He rarely ate dinner at home because he always came back very late in the night.

Ella tried to be patient and understanding, but she couldn't help feeling hurt and neglected. She missed the old Ethan, the one who had been so attentive and loving when they first met.

One day, Ethan back home very late in the night as usual.

Once he entered into the sitting room he saw Ella sitting on the couch with a gloomy face and immediately his heart skipped.

"Hi Babe are you still awake?" Ethan asked trying to avoid her gaze.

"Babe we need to talk" Ella replied with an angry tone.

"Not this night babe. I really had a rough day at work" Ethan replied while dropping his brief case on the couch.

"Why are you avoiding me?" Ella asked him. "Is there something wrong?"

Ethan sighed and looked away. "It's complicated," he said. "I've been dealing with some difficult business problems lately."

Ella felt a pang of anger. "You keep saying that," she said. "But you won't tell me what's really going on. I feel like you're shutting me out."

Ethan looked back at her, his eyes filled with pain. "I'm sorry, Ella," he said. "I don't mean to. It's just that...I've gotten myself into a bad situation. My company is in trouble."

Ella's heart sank. "What kind of trouble?" she asked.

Ethan hesitated. "I've made some bad investments," he said. "And now I owe some dangerous people a lot of money."

"I don't understand" Ella replied with a worried tone.

Ethan sighed then continued. "I borrowed a huge amount of money accompanied with some capitals from my company and I invested it in the company of one of my cousins recently established a textile company after returning from Germany." Ethan explained.

"But his company got bankrupt and up to now he is nowhere to be found and the people from which I borrowed the money from has being pressuring me to pay back the money I borrowed or face the consequences.

Ella felt her blood run cold. "What kind of people are they?" Ella asked.

Ethan shook his head. "I can't say," he said. "But they're not people you want to mess with."

"And why did you hide it from me all this while? " Ella asked with a dejected tone.

"I didn't want to get you involved" Ethan explained. "I'm very sorry babe" Ethan apologized with tears streaming down his face.

Ella was terrified for Ethan's safety, but she knew that she had to be strong for him. She loved him, and she would do anything to help him.

"I'm here for you," she said, taking his hand. "Whatever happens, we'll face it together."
