Chapter 10

Maverick's POV:

"So this club is how many minutes journey?" I asked Levi. He didn't look like he wanted to answer me so, I gulped and sat up straight. I would probably be quiet till we got to the club. We drove for some minutes before finally pulling up in the private parking lot of the club. Then we both stepped out of the car. The environment looked exotic and luxurious you could say. I turned around observing a bit with my eyes. It read 'Sweet Life'. What a weird name for a club. Why would anyone name a club sweet life? Very much absurd I thought.

"This place looks nice, better than what I pictured it would be," Levi said.

"I think so too" I comprehended.

We both walked in together into the club. The place was filled with people. The music was good I guess. Levi and I went to the VIP section and sat down. According to Levi, he'd asked the manager to secure a nice place for us.

"Champagne please" Levi yelled to the tall slim brunette waiter that came over to us once we were settled.

"Okay, coming up." The brunette guy of about 22 years old yelled back and left.

"Yeah! This is all I need. I'll just find a suitable woman for my bed tonight, " Levi pouted while he thought whatever plans he made would work out. He must be joking. As for me, I'm not the kind of man to carry women from clubs to my house, I didn't do that. I mostly hate a few women I met for the first time when I met them. Picking up a random girl from the club was just not my thing.

I nodded my head in line with the blare of music. The DJ was good, I loved every beat I heard that night.

Soon, like 2 minutes later, the young brunette guy returned with a bottle of Champagne in a well-designed carrier, a slim beautiful lady was following him behind with an ice bucket and two Champagne flutes. The lady was black and her hair was blue.

They came over and dropped the contents in their hands on the table in front of us and left.

"A toast to us," Levi said when he had poured out a flute for himself. I looked at him toasting in a club, I hated it but still, I raised my flute to his toast.

Natalie's POV:

"Almost done, " Abby said trying to hold my patience, I hated to sit down for a makeover. I hated that thing so much but Abby wouldn't let me go out with her without having makeup on my face.

"Abby, I can't feel my face, I feel like shit. Do I even look good in this?" I asked her frowning a bit.

" You look gorgeous Nat, If I was a guy now, I wouldn't miss you for the night" she laughed and moved away from the mirror is I could see my face. "Just admire a little, and you're welcome" She smiled patting my shoulder then she moved away to wear her dress. I can't lie, my face looked so pretty, I almost didn't recognize myself. I looked like a fairy, like those we saw in movies. I pouted, "thank you, Abby, " I said turning to her.

"That's okay, our ride would be here soon" Abby looked like she married the Senator or the President. She was gorgeous. I might even feel timid walking with her. Some people said Abby looked 25, her body was big, and her ass looked like it could tear her dress and fall off. Unlike me, I was a slim girl except that I had a fine slim body with fine-built breasts. When we were in high school, even in junior year, Abby already had a lot of men wanting to talk to her, most of them were even older than her a whole lot.

"Let's go, our ride is outside" We both went down passing through the stairs and the sitting room. Woah! Our ride was a Rolls-Royce model. Not just any kind, those exotic ones that the Senator and his family drove.

"Abby this car is fiiiiiine," I said expressing how beautiful the car was." how much did you pay? How did.....-?"

"You welcome, sis," She said brushing past me and hopping into the car. I joined her quietly. When we got in, the driver played 'black and white' by Nasty C. I looked at the driver, his hair was styled like Mavericks. What? Maybe they went to the same saloon. He even sounded like Maverick when he spoke to us before taking off. I didn't know why I saw Maverick in every man I saw that day.

We only drove for some minutes before pulling up in the big parking lot of the club. Abby was on her phone all through, she was making videos the whole time.

"And here we are, this place looks like paradise. There's this guy I met and he happened to know the manager of this club, I asked him to pay for a spot for us at the VIP section" She said smiling at me "this was a good decision after all, dont you like the place?" She asked touching my hair

"It's a nice place Abby" I responded curtly. The place looked nice. The club was booming with music. I followed Abby behind, one of the big guys at the club, I guess one of the bouncers led us to the seat reserved for us in Abby's name. Abby looked so happy and she kept nudging me to dance along. But I didn't seem to be in the mood. Each time I felt at ease, I always remembered Maverick and I didn't like it.

"Champagne please " Abby yelled to the slim tall waiter who seemed Scottish from his accent.

"Okay, I'll right back " He yelled back and left.

Abby was enjoying herself. "Loosen up sis" She yelled pushing me lightly.

"How was the breakfast?" She asked on top of her voice so I could hear her properly.

"I do not still like him, " I yelled back

"What? Is he not as fine as in those social media posts? " Abby asked singing to the trap music playing.

"Not that, Abby I got admission to law school" I responded almost low enough not to be heard.

" oh sis, sorry. I'm sure Maverick isn't that bad. He doesn't look bad. I mean, judging from his photos, he looks calm and good" She rubbed my back and brushed my hair with her fingers.

"How would you know?" I eyed Abby.

The slim waiter returned with the Champagne we requested and two flutes inside an Ice bucket. He dropped it on the table in front of us and left nodding curtly.

"You'll be fine Nat, I'm sure. For now, let's enjoy this amazing place okay?" She yelled into my ears and I nodded moving my head a little to the blare of the music. I poured Abby and I each a flute of Champagne. No doubt I knew I would get drunk and I wasn't even going to fight it. Besides, that could be the last chance I might have to drink alcohol, especially with Abby.
