158 Where Are You? (2)

After visiting the building next to Sunrise and watching the video they had multiple times, Tian Zi clenched his hands feeling helpless. It was clear as the sky that Fyre went inside an unfamiliar vehicle of his own volition, meaning he was not taken by force like they had assumed the situation would be, and instead, it seems that he even planned to meet whoever was in the vehicle.

"Fyre's cellphone was thrown from the driver's side so we can't be too sure about him not being taken by force, right? He could have been threatened to come. Do you know someone who might do this?" Julie asked after watching the video as well. Of course, Tian Zi didn't have to think long to know who this person was. He also already thought of this possibility so it did not surprise him. Instead, he was upset and disappointed knowing that Fyre did not trust him at all. He made it clear to him multiple times that if things happen, they should deal with it together. However, it's clear that Fyre had no plan to keep his promise from the beginning, explaining the reason why he suddenly left, leaving only that message.

Well, he did understand the fact that the Omega worries a lot for him but he made it clear not to worry. In fact, Fyre should be more worried for himself than for him who's more than capable of protecting himself.

"No, I don't know anyone." Tian Zi lied. It was best to not let Beta know after all since he did not want to trouble people who are not involved with their situation. Also, Fyre wouldn't want the Beta to be involved.

"Are you sure? If it's like that, it'll be difficult to find him. I know someone who can help but we need to think who might do this to Fyre," Julie offered. Since she was originally a lawyer before she decided to work in a different field, she also knew quite a lot of people who are currently in high positions in the police force. Not to mention, his grandfather was a retired deputy judge so she could ask him to help if the Alpha wanted to. Of course, she was well aware that Tian Zi also had someone who might help him since he's from the prominent Mo Family but since Fyre is her talent, she also wanted to be able to help in the least. After all, if she didn't leave Fyre earlier, this would not have happened.

"It's okay. I'm sure Fyre will find a way to come back when he can," Tian Zi said even though deep inside he knew it was not that easy. It was very clear that it was Lucien Sky who took Fyre and hearing the things Fyre had said about him until now, there was no way Fyre would be able to escape that easily.

"You don't know that! What if he's really in danger?! I worry for him too," Julie argued with a frown. She did not understand why the young Alpha was acting this way when all this time he was the most worried when the Omega was ever away from him even for just a few minutes. There's evidence that someone had taken Fyre so she expected the Alpha to go wild and all but Tian Zi was acting so indifferent.

"If he is then I will do anything in my power to get him back... Just... just don't involve yourself with this... Fyre would want that as well," Tian Zi said and finally decided it was time for him to go. He wasn't showing it but he was the one who was most worried right now but what can he do? His brain isn't even working properly because he's too worried. Fyre had avoided the man for more than ten years but why did he voluntarily follow him now? Out of all the things that's been happening, why now of all times?

'Just what is it?' Tian Zi asked himself. Just what did that bastard tell Fyre for the Omega to blindly follow him like that without a fight? Fyre isn't someone who will easily be deceived. He's already very conscious of Lucien Sky so he obviously wouldn't go and meet him just because the Alpha said so. There must have been a reason and he's yet to find that out.

"Mo Tian Zi, I trust you so I will listen to you this time but I will not forgive you if Fyre is hurt. I may be like this but I care for Fyre. He's... He's Remi's younger brother so he's like a younger brother to me as well," Julie said with a frown before her expression turned solemn, being reminded of her dear friend. Meanwhile, Tian Zi didn't reply immediately as he couldn't really promise Fyre's safety. He's just glad that the Beta cared for his lover more than he expected she would. He hated her for dragging Fyre into the entertainment industry and thought she was using the Omega's kindness but now he knew that the Beta also cared for Fyre.

That was enough for Tian Zi. At least he knew that the Beta wouldn't take advantage of Fyre and use her position as Remi Long's friend to do so.

"I too wouldn't forgive myself if Fyre's hurt so you can rest assured. For now, I will talk to my brother in regards to the filming. We might need to delay it again," Tian Zi suggested to which Julie nodded in understanding. In this situation, the filming set was of the least importance.

"Okay. I'll let everyone know," Julie replied helplessly. From there, the both of them separated going to their own destination. Tian Zi was in deep thought the whole drive so he did not realize he had gone back to his and Fyre's house without realizing. He didn't step out of his car yet and instead, he laid his head over the steering wheel staring at the passenger seat where Fyre always sat.

"Where are you?" Tian Zi expressed. His emotions are currently clashing with each other to the point that he feels numb. Even his face and hands felt numb, and it felt like his heart was starting to beat slower. He was also short in breathing but at the same time, his body was too strong that he was still able to move normally.

"Why are you doing this to me, Fyre? I should've chained you when I had the chance," Tian Zi mumbled again. He already knew this would happen. He knew it very well but he still decided to trust Omega. Even now, he still trusts his words. He said that he was going to go back as soon as he could and that alone made me think twice to do anything. He did not want Fyre to hate him. He's upset that Fyre himself didn't trust him but he did not want the Omega to feel the same way towards him.

"What am I going to do? I trust you but at the same time and really worried, Fyre. This is making me go insane," Tian Zi said again in frustration.

Tian Zi was still moping inside his car not moving when his cellphone suddenly rang. He was briefly surprised before he hastily fetched the device thinking maybe it was Fyre but he was quick to be disappointed when it was Hanlu's caller Id flashing on his screen. Nevertheless, despite his disappointment, Tian Zi accepted the call.

[Why does it take too long for you to answer your phone?] Hanlu bombarded as soon as Tian Zi answered his call. On the other hand, when Tian Zi heard Hanlu, he just rolled his eyes and didn't have the energy to argue so he just sighed and asked what he needed from him.

[What is wrong with you?! Anyway, go together with Fyre here now, we just found Maverick Sullen and he wanted to talk only to you,] Hanlu said in urgency, ignoring Tian Zi's disrespect that as soon as Tian Zi heard him, he immediately sat straight.

"What do you mean he's back? Was taking the Secretary the reason?" Tian Zi asked. He finds it weird that Maverick's kidnapper would just release him without getting anything. Although this was a good thing, normally, this wouldn't have happened. They didn't even call to demand a ransom or whatever they wanted. It's also weird that no matter how much they torture the secretary, he wouldn't admit that he was the one who ordered Maverick's capture. Just from knowing this, he just couldn't seem to calm down all of a sudden.

[No. Apparently, the Secretary really had nothing to do with it. It's a mess and it'll become even more troublesome if we let him go now so we have no choice but to get rid of him as soon as possible. Anyway, Maverick's being asked by his siblings if he remembered his captor but he wouldn't talk unless it's you,] Hanlu said to which Tian Zi understood. The moment they decided to capture the secretary of defense, they already knew that it'll be impossible for them to let him go so they had no choice but to silence him permanently.

Besides, he wouldn't feel bad since the man's not the nicest person out there as well. It'll be a good thing to get rid of him since it would just mean there'll be fewer awful people in the world. Of course, that does not mean that the organization he was running would disappear upon his death, at least for a while, things would settle down a bit.

"Okay, I understand. I will go there immediately. Where is he right now?" Tian Zi replied even though he didn't know yet what he would say once they found out Fyre had to disappear so for now he'd go and meet Maverick who begged to meet him.

[At the hospital with Elder Sullen.] Hanlu informed before they finally bid farewell. Tian Zi had not yet gotten out of his car and he started his engine again. As he was driving, he was still in deep thought until suddenly a thought came to mind. Because of this, his earlier slowly beating heart began to catch pace and his hand started sweating against the steering wheel.

"Fuck!" Tian Zi cursed. It only came to his mind now but there was a high possibility that he was right. He didn't think of it before because it didn't seem related and also he was in a state of panic but after he had relaxed a bit, there was a high chance that Fyre's disappearance and Maverick's return were related. There was only one way for him to find out. And that is to talk to Maverick. Maybe this was also the reason why the Omega only wanted to talk to him after his return.

With his foot pressing on the accelerator, Tian Zi ignored the speed limit. All he cared about was to see Maverick as soon as he could.

'Fyre, if you're doing this to me then you have left me with no choice,' Tian Zi thought with a serious expression. He didn't want to use his last resort but if the situation was like he had thought then he had no choice. He knew Fyre would get mad but this was for his own safety. He was glad that before he gave Fyre the promise ring he gave him, he personally designed it where he could put his company's latest device for tracking. He only put it on the ring for emergency purposes. In fact, he did not mean to actually use it unless maybe lost the ring or got stolen but he was left with no choice.

Once he discovers the truth, hell shall truly come upon his enemies who dared to take his mate.
