47 Vacation (2)

Getting back from the beach with Lan and Luangmin, as soon as he noticed Fyre, Ian quickly marched towards him and without a warning pulled the young Omega into his arms for a hug. Since he'd discovered what had happened, he had been feeling so guilty about it. He knew that it was because of him and Hanlu that his fellow Omega had to experience what was happening to him now.

"I'm so sorry for what happened. We didn't prepare enough and let this happen to you. I hope you can forgive us, Fyre. Luu's already trying to fix it," Ian said and continued to hug the poor Omega. On the other hand, Fyre awkwardly smiled and patted Ian's shoulder. He won't lie. He did blame Ian Andrews, Mo Hanlu, and the rest of the Mo family at some point but he also knew that none of them wanted this to happen. And that it was not their fault that people are just very interested in their private lives.

"Please. You don't have to apologize. I'm happy that you're concerned but I know that none of you here ever wished for this to happen so it's fine. And I am fine... Jonathan rescued me before anything serious happened." Fyre smiled helplessly before they separated from the hug.

"I'm so glad you're fine. I wouldn't know what to do if you were to get hurt." Ian said and smiled as well in relief. He already felt bad about that time when he and Hanlu were caught having sex in the kitchen and almost made the younger Omega experience something horrible and traumatic so having the public turn against him just because they happened to make him his maid of honor made him felt worse than ever. No one should ever deserve being treated this way especially Fyre who they only begged to take the position. If they knew this was going to happen, they should've just made Daniel his maid of honor. That way, none of this would have happened.

Meanwhile, as their conversation progressed, Tian Zi's face turned hard upon hearing from Fyre that he was not the one who rescued him. He was grateful to Jonathan, but he was starting to regret ever calling him to help Fyre in his stead. If he had been a few hours early and saved Fyre instead, they wouldn't be in their situation now where the two of them were not talking to each other.

"Anyway, you're here to forget about everything. If you need anything, whatever it is, just ask Tian Zi about it. He may act like that, but he cares for you." Ian smiled again. He wasn't that close to Tian Zi but the young Alpha will surely follow his order because he had something between them that no one knew about. And that if someone were to know, he didn't know what would happen to the young Alpha facing his older brother Hanlu.

This secret was from years ago, when the 17-year-old Alpha tried to hit on him. At that time, Ian didn't know Tian Zi was Hanlu's younger brother and may have accidentally punched the poor Alpha in the face. But after all these years have passed, and with Ian having now married Hanlu, Tian Zi came to him and asked him to keep the past incident a secret from Hanlu. Knowing how jealous Hanlu can be, even though nothing happened between them, he might punish his younger brother harshly.

"Yeah, Fyre... when Tian Zi learned what was happening. He immediately flew back just to get you." Daniel smiled as he exposed the Alpha.

"R-Really?" Fyre asked and couldn't help but blush as he peeked at Tian Zi. When he discovered that Tian Zi was also looking at him so intensely, his heart skipped a beat and his face turned even redder. Ian and Daniel immediately noticed this and looked at each other's eyes. There were no words exchanged between the two but they smiled and suddenly both of them held each side of Fyre's shoulders.

"Alright, how about you two go take a walk on the beach and talk??" Ian suggested while Daniel nodded, slightly swaying his feeding baby in his arms.

"That's right! Lan and Minmin still wanted to play so please take them for a short trip. They're both very good kids so you'll only have to make sure they won't go into the water since it'll be dark soon." Daniel added with a bright smile while Ian pushed Fyre towards Tian Zi.

Meanwhile, Fyre didn't understand what was happening, but before he knew it, he was already walking side by side with Tian Zi with Lancel Mo and Mo Luangmin at their front. Neither of them were talking as the situation had turned awkward. He didn't know why he was suddenly feeling this way, but his heart just wouldn't stop beating loudly... to the point where he could hear it from his ears.

At the same time, Tian Zi was feeling the same. When he got exposed earlier, he'd just froze, staring at Fyre. He did care about the Omega but his two brothers-in-law made it sound like there was something else. And now all of a sudden, it felt like his heart was going to jump out of his mouth if they continued to stay quiet for a second more.

Suddenly, Tian Zi gave out an audible sigh before he halted his walk.

"I'm sorry about last night..." Tian Zi started. Fyre was a step ahead of him due to him suddenly stopping so the Omega had to turn around and look at Tian Zi curiously. This wasn't the first time the Alpha has apologized to him, but he still found it amusing to know that Tian Zi was someone who was taught to apologize when he thinks he was wrong. As an Alpha that stood high among others, that was not very easy to do, so how could Fyre continue to ignore him?

"Nah. It's my fault too. I should've thanked you for saving me but I overreacted. Honestly, if it wasn't for you... I would have still been in my room overthinking and terrified so... thank you, Zi... for saving me...and sorry for not accepting your calls... I...I didn't know what to say...at that time..." Fyre confessed as he stuttered. He kept his eyes on the ground while his feet played with the sand. The first person who had given him hope at the lowest point of his life, when he thought everything had gone back to zero—was Tian Zi. That simple call the Alpha made at that moment where he really needed someone, gave him courage. He also knew that the reason Jonathan was there in the first place was because of Tian Zi.

Fyre chewed on lips. He wasn't the most honest person out there so suddenly coming out like this made him feel so embarrassed. Meanwhile, hearing all this, Tian Zi couldn't help it as the pinkish hue on his cheeks started to appear as he scratched his nape. Earlier when the Omega had said that Jonathan rescued him, he'd honestly felt bitter. But now that he was hearing all of this from Fyre, his lips curved into a smile before he stepped closer to him and pulled the Omega into his arms.

"It's embarrassing to admit, but you're now one of my closest friends so of course I'd be worried about you. But when I saw you back there, drowning, I thought I would lose you. I'm sorry for lashing out at you like that. I knew you weren't in a good situation but I accused you of something so absurd." Tian Zi whispered and tightened his hug. He couldn't explain why, but hugging Fyre like this felt right. He didn't want to pull away so soon, so they continued to stay like that in silence. The only sound around them was from the water hitting the sand, the wind, and the occasional giggles from Lan and Luangmin enjoying digging up some seashells and playing tag with the water.

"Fyre, if you ever need something, anything, please don't think that you have no one to ask. I'm always here to help you, anytime, anywhere. It's the least I could do for you for letting this happen." Tian Zi added softly, squeezing Fyre into his arms.

"You know, it doesn't seem like it, but you're quite adorable," After almost a minute of hugging, Fyre suddenly commented as he laughed. Most Alphas he knew were full of themselves, arrogant, and prideful. There were some that were good but he never really thought Tian Zi was one of them. When the two of them still didn't know each other personally, he'd really hated Tian Zi but now, Fyre honestly couldn't say the same. The Alpha was annoying at times, but he felt like he could never hate Mo Tian Zi anymore.

"W-What nonsense are you talking about!?" Tian Zi immediately argued before they pulled away from their friendly hug. He was trying his best to comfort the Omega but he was making fun of him!

"What nonsense? You may look like an Alpha wolf outside but you're actually a golden retriever deep inside." Fyre chuckled and he could almost see imaginary ears on top of the young Alpha's head.

"I'm genuinely trying to comfort you but you're making fun of me!" Tian Zi whined, upset. It was embarrassing for him to say all those things for the first time ever, but he was compared to a domesticated dog instead. He felt like he had been scarred for life.

"I'm not making fun of you! That's a compliment... you aren't like those Alphas I've met before and I'm thankful for that. I'm happy that I've met you," Fyre smiled brightly. A smile that Tian Zi never before had ever seen on Fyre's face. Even the sunset and the beautiful background were nothing compared to it, that he was dumbfounded for a second before he turned around and scratched his nape.

"A-Anyway, it's getting dark. The kids will catch a cold if we were to stay longer." Tian Zi abruptly said and started walking away leaving Fyre together with Lan and Luangmin.

"Ahh! That bastard!" Fyre exclaimed, finding himself alone with the children. He was never good with kids so he awkwardly looked at Lan and Luangmin who were enjoying the sand. He really felt bad spoiling their fun so he waited for a bit as he bent his knees so he could level his height with them. He played with Lan and Luangmin for a bit and when the sunset was about to end, he finally decided it was time to go.

"Uhmm, do you want to go back and eat something sweet?" Fyre offered. Thankfully, when the two heard him, they both nodded enthusiastically and surprisingly, Luangmin spread his arms indicating that he wanted to be carried back.

It would be the first time Fyre was to hold a toddler, so he hesitated at first. But seeing how adorable the child was looking up at him and expecting for him to be lifted, ...of course Fyre wasn't able to resist such charm.
