49 Confused

After that talk at the beach, days quickly went by and just like everyone had hope for, Fyre and Remi did enjoy the vacation. They went to different places creating memories to remember; at first, Fyre thought that he wouldn't be able to fully enjoy this vacation because he was just someone who tagged along but all throughout the whole week during his stay, he really forgot his depression and anxiety.

He learned more about the Mo Family and even the Sullens and Daniel Mo's adoptive parents—the Lopezes. He got closer to all of them, and of course especially to Tian Zi who made keeping him by his side every second of the day his hobby and mission. And surprisingly, he really appreciated it because it's no longer a secret from him that he felt more secure with Tian Zi around him. The Alpha was like a comfort doll or something, everything just seems better with him around. Maybe because Tian Zi and he was an Omega, but he's thankful that he didn't have to worry about his surroundings whether he'd be safe or not because the Young Alpha was there to help him.

Furthermore, as Ian and Daniel promised, Hanlu indeed fixed his problem and assured him that no one will bother him again when he goes back. He still could remember himself crying as he thanked Mo Hanlu while the Alpha just told him that he did it because he wasn't allowed to hold his twins if he didn't, that if it weren't for his wife and brother-in-law he would have cared less about the situation but honestly, Fyre was still very thankful even though none of it would have happened if he wasn't suddenly chosen to become Ian Andrews Mo's maid of honor. If it was just him, he would have never handled it peacefully. He might go crazy and commit something that would finally send him to prison.

Thankfully, he didn't and now he's enjoying the free vacation granted to him. Not to mention, just like Maverick said, he did introduce Fyre to his brothers and they are now acquainted quite well. Although far from being called close friends, unlike before where the three young masters of the Sullen would just silently stand and observe from the side, at least now they are interacting with each other. Fyre never felt he was outcast and he was pretty sure it was the same for Remi as well as he got close to the elders.

"Hey, don't drink too much, okay?" Tian Zi reminded, softly holding Fyre's arms. He had a frown on his forehead as he watched the Omega excitedly fetching himself a bottle of beer. There were a lot of options for what to drink but he chose beer because it was what he's used to. However, as the Alpha always did, Tian Zi was trying to spoil his fun again as if he was his father or something. Tian Zi was way too overprotective! He has to calm down!

"Tian Zi, we only have two more days before we go back. Relax and have fun with everybody." Fyre cheered. The Elders allowed them to stay up all night at the patio having a campfire to have drinks and acquaint more, even Joaquinn Sullen who looked like he had facial paralysis stayed to join in the fun with his younger brothers. Earlier, the married couples also joined in but as the night went longer, they finally had to call it a day leaving them to continue the enjoyment.

"It's good to have fun but don't drink too much." Tian Zi reminded again and snatched two of the four bottled beers that were in Fyre's arms, causing the Omega to pout.

"You're such a party pooper!" Fyre complained and attempted to snatch the beers back but unfortunately, the Alpha was too fast. Fyre had no choice but to pick another bottle of beer to which Tian Zi then snatched again.

"And you're stubborn." Tian Zi commented with a frown. He wasn't being a party pooper. He was okay with Fyre having fun but there should be no alcohol involved. Why? Well, among the two Omegas present—Maverick being the other one—Fyre was the most unstable. If his body suddenly couldn't handle the alcohol, it will be him who will have to endure later on since the Omega is surrounded by Alphas and Remi Long surely can't handle them all. Tian Zi could help but he too is an Alpha, he wouldn't know when he's going to snap and attack Fyre as well.

"You too! You're the most stubborn here. What's wrong with having a few beers?" Fyre argued and took another bottle of beer and this time made sure the Alpha wouldn't be able to snatch it from him.

"The problem is that we don't know how your body will react to it so no more than two bottles for you." Tian Zi argued back as he pulled Fyre close to him and snatched the two bottles of beer he hid behind him. The action made their bodies touch and because of it, Fyre froze while his cheeks instantly turned red. Thankfully, it was too dark for anyone to find out as he quickly pushed Tian Zi back. At the same time, Tian Zi was also a little flustered as well, he didn't expect he had exerted too much strength that they somehow briefly hugged.

Tian Zi had hugged Fyre so many times already but after their talk at the beach that day, all of a sudden hugging the Omega became overwhelmingly uncomfortable. Not in a negative way that he didn't like it—in fact, he liked it that if the Omega allowed, he would have done it every time—but then again his heart just wouldn't settle down when he does. He simply felt nervous about something unclear even to him. He tried to ignore it especially after noticing that Fyre was a little uncomfortable with it as well but for the past week, his feelings were becoming more and more complicated but he simply couldn't avoid Fyre.

"Hey, you two... what's taking you so long? They're all waiting over there." Facing each other awkwardly, Tian Zi was about to apologize when Remi came and approached them.

"Oh yeah, come on. The night's still starting!" Fyre forced out a laugh as he replied before he quickly escaped bringing with him 4 bottles of beer that Tian Zi had to let go for now and soon followed the two before he found himself a chair to sit on next to Fyre along with the rest of the group.

Since all of them were in their 20's except Remi, they all surprisingly got along and forgot the awkward moments they once had before this vacation happened. It's like they all went back to teens and talked about just about anything. Everyone was having fun and forgot about the time but even though it was already past midnight, no one cared and still wanted the conversation to last.

"We're almost out of ice. I'll go get some more..." Maverick mentioned and stood from his seat. There should be a couple of maids still awake but he didn't want to bother anyone for just a bucket of ice.

"Oh. I'll go with you. I'm out of beer too..." Fyre happily announced as well, however before he could stand, Tian Zi interrupted him, preventing him from fully standing up.

"I'll do it. You stay here." Tian Zi suddenly interrupted as he instructed Fyre to stay, thinking that the Omega would probably bring more than one bottle of beer when he already had four. Fyre was already tipsy as he noticed and thankfully, his body didn't react but just to make sure, he was planning to ask the maids to hide all the liquors as they were going to finish soon.

"Jeez! Okay, bring me two bottles," Fyre chanted with a pout. It was Remi's turn to share her story about how the entertainment industry works as everyone was rather curious whether some of the recent rumors were true or not. Of course, Fyre too was a little curious so he let Tian Zi go instead.

Meanwhile, as the two left, Tian Zi silently followed Maverick. There were no words exchanged between them until they finally reached where the ice and liquors were being kept.

"I know it's nothing to do with me but I've been meaning to ask for a long time," Maverick started as he used the stainless steel clip to pick the ice from its container to the ice bucket. He wasn't looking at Tian Zi but he knew the Alpha halted his movement before proceeding to pick a bottle of beer.

"What is it?" Tian Zi asked.

"Uhmm, a-are you...I mean, you and Fyre... are you lovers?" Maverick finally faced the Alpha and asked. He wanted to know because his guilt was slowly getting to him. Fyre is a good person. He didn't want to lose the friendship he just acquired just because of a simple mistake, because from what it seems, Fyre looked like he had strong feelings towards Mo Tian Zi as well.

"Why are you asking?" Taken aback by the question and a little bit annoyed, Tian Zi asked with one of his eyebrows raised. People have been asking him and Fyre the same question over and over again and they've been denying it over and over again but they still don't believe them. Was it too difficult to believe that he and Fyre were just friends? They may be an Alpha and Omega but they're truly just friends.

"I'm asking because I'm feeling guilty. I know we promised we would forget about it but I couldn't. Fyre is a friend." Maverick replied bravely and he looked at the Alpha with eyes filled with determination and sincerity, making Tian Zi sigh.

"No, we're not. Both of us are just friends. And that thing that happened to us, both of us consented so no don't need to feel guilty about it, okay?" Tian Zi replied and he wasn't lying. That time, even though it was from the influence of pheromones, he enjoyed it too. The Omega didn't need to feel burdened because of it.

"But you like him," Maverick added, to which quickly stunned Tian Zi. He couldn't answer right away even though between hate and like, he would choose like.

"I do like him. But not in the kind of way you're thinking." Tian Zi said and crossed his arm, waiting for the Omega to finish his task. But it looks like it will take a while since Maverick was no longer picking ice.

"But you do. You act like you like him...the kind of like that I am thinking about." Maverick insisted because it is true. Maybe the Alpha was just confused with his feelings.

"And Fyre likes you too. We're both Omegas, I could sense it from him." Maverick added that instantly caught Tian Zi's attention. He thought about it and tried to remember the times when Fyre showed nothing towards him but hostility and he instantly laughed.

"Believe me he doesn't. He only sees me as a friend at most. And I feel the same way." Tian Zi confidently replied as he chuckled. How could Fyre develop feelings towards him when all they do when they're together is fight? Additionally, he promised himself that he would never fall in love. He was planning to keep that promise for as long as he could.

"You're confused. Do you want me to help you confirm it?" Maverick frowned a little as he offered. He knows that he's being nosy at this point but the Alpha's actions are way too obvious and he hates that he's denying it again and again.

"Do what you want. But I'm telling you you're wrong--" Tian Zi said as he shrugged and as soon as he finished his words, he suddenly got caught off guard and felt the Omega's lips on him. He was frozen and confused. The kiss was brief before Maverick pulled away a little.

"Do you dislike this? If you did, you should be able to know your feelings." He said with a faint smile and was about to pull away. However, before he did, the last thing he saw was the Alpha's frowning expression before he was pulled into a kiss again, and this it was rough and deep.
