152 Anxiously,

"H-he's gone. They said that someone had taken him away. What do we do, Laotian? What if something really bad happens to him? Maverick is one of the very few families I have left and we've only recently got along. Because of this, Grandfather has been sent to the hospital again. I want to go but I want to go with you," Daniel sobbed softly as he explained the situation to his husband. When he woke up this morning, he was in a very good mood especially since the baby inside him was becoming more and more lively each day passed but when he received a call from his cousin a few minutes ago, his stomach suddenly began to ache from worry.
Truthfully, knowing his condition, Joaquinn didn't intend to tell Daniel at all but knowing how much the Omega value his family as well, he and Ashton as well as George Sullen had finally decided to tell him even if it would make Daniel worry.
[I understand. I will be there as soon as I can. Just wait there and try to calm down, okay?] Laotian replied in urgency and began walking out without excusing himself because he knew just from the Omega's voice that he is needed by his side at this very moment. He can't waste any more seconds.
"What happened?" Tian Zi asked, making Laotian halt from his walk but before he could answer, Fyre faced his lover and replied instead.
"Quinn said that Mave has been kidnapped last night. They already asked someone they know to help them find him immediately but with little to no lead, they simply couldn't find him. The kidnappers haven't tried to contact them as well so they have no choice but to wait," Fyre informed, shocking the Alpha. He immediately concurred that this might be because he was the main reason why a part of the dark corner of this country was revealed to the public but then again, wasn't it already fixed? It's the reason why his Eldest brother visited him right now. Does this mean that the negotiation failed? It's the only logical answer he could think of as the moment. If their enemies already went for those VIP's in prison and had them disposed then it wouldn't be a surprise if they're coming after Maverick next for revenge.
"Brother, the secretary might have lied to you," Tian Zi said that in an instant ticked Laotian. Not a lot of people had ever dared deceive him and those who did are all dead or ruined so if the secretary indeed tricked him then he better be prepared for his retribution because he will not stop until he gets his revenge. Even more so if this causes his wife to have another difficult pregnancy.
". . ." With a vicious and displeased expression, Laotian didn't say anything about it and instead turned around. "For now I am going to comfort my wife. After that I will handle the situation," Laotian simply said but even though Tian Zi, Fyre, and Hanlu knew that he was genuinely concerned for his wife's well-being, the Alpha's expression showed how prepared he was to destroy someone's life since it has been a long time since someone had dared defied him.
"W-we'll go with you," Tian Zi said to which Fyre agreed.
"I don't really know what's happening but Mom is looking for us. We are all called to the main estate," Hanlu said. Laura didn't say anything to him and instead asked him to call everyone back. And now hearing about Maverick Sullen's abduction, then that's the most reasonable explanation for the call. The Sullens are basically family to the Mo's and as Elder Sullen is a close friend of their father, it was only reasonable for them to help each other.
And if it was indeed a failed negotiation with a person that Mo Laotian had contacted then that's more reason to be alert. Mo Laotian hates it when things don't go his way. This personality of his subsided when Daniel came but that doesn't mean he had changed completely. He's still the same cruel and merciless older brother that both Hanlu and Tian Zi know.
"Let's go." Tian Zi nodded and just like that, all four of them left the hotel in separate vehicles. And although Tian Zi and Fyre's sudden absence caused an uproar in the filming set, adding more work for Julie Walker, right now, that is just not their priority. The movie can wait but someone else's life cannot.
"Laotian!" Daniel hurriedly called as soon as they arrived at the mansion. Thankfully, unlike earlier, he had finally stopped crying but knowing full well, Laotian knew his wife was just acting brave again when in fact he was a crybaby especially now that his hormones are messing up with his emotions.
"What do we do? The abductors haven't even called yet so we have no clue what they wanted. The police said that this might not be some normal kidnap for ransom case and that we have to be prepared for what would happen next. We were asked if Maverick has any enemy or someone he had offended but he doesn't have any of that" Daniel explained as he buried his face against his husband's chest, rubbing as if wiping his tears. Laotian on the other hand, held his wife while his thoughts drifted to the fact that the secretary of defense indeed deceived him. Since the Sullens didn't mention to the police about Maverick Sullen's involvement with the recently exposed syndicate, he also didn't say anything.
After all, even if they did, the police really wouldn't be able to do anything about it since the culprit is their boss so it's better for him to handle the situation without involving the police force since it would only make things complicated.
"I will do everything that I can to find him so don't let this be of harm to you, okay?" Laotian said softly and he caressed Daniel's hair.
"I-I'll try but I'm worried for grandfather as well, his health just got better these days but now this happened. A-And Maverick, he's a very delicate person, I can't imagine how much he's suffering right now. We need to find him as soon as possible, Laotian," Daniel said and his voice began to crack as he tightened his hug. And as Laotian observed Daniel, he felt guilty that he couldn't assure him about the situation. He wanted to say that everything will be fine and that he will find his cousin and return him safe and sound because reality isn't like that.
For all he knows, Maverick Sullen might be dead by now. That's just how this world works. This is a movie where everyone gets their own happy ending.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Laura and Mo Chendong neared Tian Zi and Fyre as they briefly greeted them.
"Xiao Zi, Fyre, I know we're asking for too, especially since I know you two are very busy but is there something you can do about this to track down Maverick?" Laura was the first to ask. It was no secret anymore that Fyre is a prominent hacker on the dark web so they don't care if it was something illegal, they just wanted to help their family friend to solve their problem. Gabriel Sullen had helped them a lot long time ago as well, that's why this is their chance to pay that off. Even if that wasn't the case, just the fact that the Mos and the Sullens are very good friends is enough for them to help in any way they can.
"It's okay. We can't promise anything but Zi and I will do our best to find Maverick. He's our friend and I honestly owe my happiness to him right now," Fyre replied with a soothing smile. His words are true. If it was not for Maverick, he probably was still trying to deny his feelings for the Alpha. If not for him, he probably wouldn't have the guts to tell Tian Zi as well and make the first move. Besides, Maverick is his friend—one of his very few friends—he will not allow being this happy while having a friend of his be miserable.
"Yes, Mother. Fyre and I will definitely help on finding him," Tian Zi assured and Laura and Mo Chendong are both very thankful. Of course, this does not mean that they would spare any resources to find Maverick, they will definitely still do their best to find the Omega but having Tian Zi and Fyre help would be a huge difference.
"Thank you so much," Daniel said in the background, hearing the couple's reply.
"No need to thank us… W-We're family, right?" Fyre replied. There was a slight blush on his cheeks at the mention of family since for him who had not married into the family yet mentioned the word was embarrassing. He's anxious that someone would tell him that he wasn't family yet but he had gathered his courage and now he did not regret it seeing that Daniel wasn't in the slightest bit repulsive by it, even the rest of the people in the area especially Tian Zi.
"Right, we're family," Tian Zi repeated and wrapped his arms around his lover, loving the fact that Fyre has finally begun to accept his faith. He first thought that because of his difficulty to conceive a child, the Omega would think of something like leaving him so he had been worried all this time but after hearing Fyre saying the word family by himself, his heart couldn't stop thumbing in happiness. He was well aware that the current situation doesn't call him to be this happy but he couldn't help it. Even though Fyre loved him, the feeling that the Omega might someday slip away from his grasp never faded. He didn't know why but he's always been so anxious about this.
"Then we have no time to waste. The rest of us will visit Gabriel at the hospital, if you two want to come with us then let us go now, I think it's good for you two to tell them that you are going to help on the search," Mo Chendong suddenly mentioned. He felt really bad for his friend. He didn't want to admit it but it's like he's been cursed to never be happy at all.
"Yes, I think that's the best thing to do right now." Fyre nodded, already thinking how hurt Joaquinn must have felt at this moment. As his friend, he wanted to comfort him even if it was just for a bit.
"Then let's go. I have already arranged someone to pick the kids up from school so you don't need to worry about them," Laotian added then faced Daniel who he knew would be worried for their children who had not returned from school yet.
"I-I've actually also ordered someone to go and pick them up because I was worried," Daniel admitted. He even told Ian that he was going to have someone pick up Lan as well but forgot to tell Laotian.
"That's much better. The sooner the better," Laotian nodded.
"Xiao Lu went straight to get Ian as well, they will come here after so it's good that the kids will have someone who will watch them when they arrive," Laura nodded in agreement since for her, it's much better to have a member of the family watch the kids than a nanny.
With all that arranged, all of them then went straight ahead to the hospital, never expecting that a reunion would happen in the midst of the situation.
