Shadow training

Draxan took his time to think on what Izora had said. The intentions of the girl were unknown to him but she had a point.

He walked slowly to head to back to their room. His mind occupied with thoughts of what Izora said. He had not even noticed that he took the wrong turn, lost in his thoughts.

He had to make use of the princess's heart in order to achieve his goal. The only thing he feared was falling for her in return, it was impossible to make someone love you without learning to love them.

He kept walking, reaching for a black metal door that was slightly opened. His hand automatically pushed the doors opened, he hurried through the doors. He wanted to meet the princess and try to see if he could go through with his plan to win over her heart.

He came to another black door soon, he went passed it without a second thought. He kept walking until he found an opening, a balcony that with a stone bridge connected to another building.

'I wonder if I should compliment her," he thought.

"Ouch," he let out when he bumped into someone and fell back hitting his behind on the ground. "Watch wher~" he held his tongue seeing the familiar face of Izora.

"You shouldn't be here," Izora spoke. She raised her hand and directed the wind to close the door he walked in through and the one at the end of the bridge. She brought down the curtains to every window that could give visage to the bridge.

"What are you doing here?" she questioned in a cold tone helping Draxan get up from the floor.

"Heading to my roo~" he halted seeing the different environment he was in. It was far from his room and he understood why the girl was angry. Looking around he spotted some of the most wanted fugitives in the kingdom down on the ground as the bridge hovered over the little forest that was inside tall walls.

"What is this place?" he asked.

"A training facility for warriors," Izora replied. "And you, I should send you back. It would be dangerous if someone were to see you here," she added.

She pulled at his hand to lead him back to the main palace away from it all but then the bell rang. She stopped and let go of his hand, she neared the edge where she got a clear view of the criminals.

"Listen," she spoke. Amplifiers kept in place to make her voice audible to them. "You have all been sentenced to death for the crimes you've committed. In here is where you decide whether you live or die," she let out.

Her words caught the attention of the criminals and Draxan's. He had recognised most of the women and some men down there and they had caused chaos in the kingdom. The things they had done did not deserve pardon and that was what he was hearing them being offered.

"You will have to earn your freedom," she said. "In half an hour which ever one of you is still alive will be free to return to society pardoned of all crimes," she added.

The faces of the criminals lit up. All they had to do was stay alive for a few minutes and they would be free. But deep down they knew that they had to think twice since the deal was too good.

"You are not to fight yourselves, a warrior had been put in there with you, you fight her. She is alone with only her genetic abilities to aid them," she let out sternly.

"To make it a fair fight your ankles will be disabled to allow you fight with your powers and abilities. It's a kill or be killed and be warned the warrior is strong and powerful," she informed to them.

She looked back at Draxan, her worry was that he would not be able to handle seeing the massacre that was about to happen. But he would have to see the colours of the world they live in. It isn't black and white as they make the world believe.

"When the doors behind you lock, then it begins. Remain alive and you walk home a free woman," she announced.

She moved back and watched the doors close. Draxan moved next to her with keen eyes on the battle field to see what happens.

"If they survive, you will be releasing deadly people back to society," he spoke with accusation in his words.

"If it were that easy then you would have heard of such criminals getting freed," she uttered to him. Draxan looked in her direction with questions in his eyes. "We offer the deal to everyone who gets a death sentence and yet you've never heard of any of them being freed. We are that good," she added with her eyes not leaving the ground.

The sound of an arrow being fired was heard. On the wall far from them was pictures of all the criminals in the training field. The arrow shot at a woman with blonde hair.

"One dead, eleven to go," Izora spoke.

Draxan looked down to spot the woman who was killed. She heard her body cut into two halves from her head to her waist. He gulped. Blood trickled and sprinkled around from her body.

The others became alert and summoned their abilities. They looked to the trees to find the warrior. Just as they did a woman in the middle of the ground felt the ground moving beneath her feet, she looked down. Something moved knives from her legs to her head.

Cutting her in a rotating manner. Draxan turned around and hid his face in Izora's chest. What he had seen was not something a person who have never been to war or anywhere where is taken could stand.

"Are you okay?" Izora asked. Her body was stiff, the male hugging her was married to the princess and just that act could get them both killed. She dared not move her hands to comfort him.

"Two dead, ten more to go," she spoke out. Her words sent shivers to Draxan.
