Past: Fearsome revelation

Lucia's POV

I am doomed. That's all I can think of when faced with a such beautiful creature named Alexander. When I found him he was lying almost unconscious and when he grabbed my wrist he gave me a minor heart attack and the skin he touched felt like on fire. I can't explain this feeling but I can't look away from him and there is a certain vulnerability in him that I can't miss even if I wanted to.

When his friends knocked the urge to kill the people who harmed him was strong and surprising since I am the first person to protect someone in my family. But considering his relaxed state with his friends I guess they were not one to harm him.

"So, you hungry? You have great wounds and need enough nutrition to heal. You didn't even have anything yesterday and seeing your body is enough to convey that you are highly malnourished"

"Yeah, I am a little hungry.....I just don't get enough time to eat, but I am not malnourished just a little weak" he says and I can see his ear tips turning red.

His friend the flirty one, snorts. You know the situation when you want to beat someone but can't because they are associated with someone you care about? Yeah, that's my situation. From the start, he's annoying me and I would like to just beat him into a pulp.

"Oh! You still don't know them. They are Edward and Harold. My friends." So the serious one is Edward and the annoying one is Harold.

"Who knew that it only took a glance from beauty to become friends with you? Huh!! Should have known and done it earlier. " Harold the always annoyer says teasing Alexander, but Edward just stares at me with a gaze that chilling and calculating, as if he knows exactly who I am. And I don't like it a bit. I would need to avoid him if I want to stay here.

"Shut up! Harold." Alexander says and blushes, again. I wonder how much innocent he is. And the thought of corrupting him, well, it's damn tempting.

"What kind of work is it that you don't even get a little time to eat?"

"I work at a diner in town. Since it's a famous one there's very little time for rest."

"What time do you return?"

"Evening. And sometimes late at night."

I remain silent for a minute. Something is missing here, something that I am not piecing together.

"Don't you need to tell them that you are injured?" Before Alexander can speak, Harold does.

"Oh! They need to know, especially that owner since it's his son who's the one resp--"

"Harold!! Will you shut up for once!"

"Who did you say is responsible?" My voice sounds calm but I am not furious as hell from inside.

After healing Alexander it's quite clear that he doesn't have magic powers and the one thing I hate most are the people who think it's normal to bully them.

Everyone's silent at the coldness in my voice. I know it is there and that's the reason why I try a lot to remain calm in public.

"I am hungry, Thea. Can you make something for me to eat? And my friends as well if you don't mind" he is trying to change the subject. Because he saw the change in my eyes when I thought that his friends were the ones responsible.

To Alexander, the world is nonviolent but he doesn't know the extent this negligence can lead to. But if he doesn't want to let .e know, I sure won't try it.

With a subtle nod, I leave.

A quiet decision takes root in my mind.....

I'll stay here with him. Help him. Ad solves any problem he has.

And when the time comes, I'll leave.

The thought of leaving Alexander and his warm gaze that sees me and not the high untouchable princess is heartbreaking, but the remainder that I have only 8 months before I need to marry makes it easy to handle.

My life in the palace is one he won't be able to handle and I am not allowed to come here.

Our world seems the same and has a vast difference. One which is highly difficult to cross.

After making the food, a nice warm porridge will help in his healing and some sides of bread with tomato sauce. It's the simplest and fastest food I could make because of the fewer ingredients and also because I know he is hungry. I call them down for food and set the table.

As soon as they arrive I serve a bowl full of porridge and give it to Alex and also serve a plate with bread and sauce. "Hmm, it's really good. It feels like a million years ago when I last had a homecooked meal." His admission gives a pang of sadness to my heart.

"If you like I can make it again for you "

He blushes again. At this point, I want to tease him again and again just to see that blush appear on him.

"Oh my god beauty, make it for me as well. And I'll serve you with my whole heart and body" Harold says with his cringe-filled voice. I ignore him again because if not I'll surely break his mouth to the point of his not being able to speak again.

From the corner of my eye, I see an emotion pass through Alex's face looking a lot like jealousy, and that gives me a new set of fuzzy feelings in my stomach.

One thing is for sure I am doomed because resisting Alex's charm without even his trying is impossible but knowing that I won't be able to be with him in the future is.....well devastating.

Now only time will tell what the future holds.
