46 It Was Just the Adrenaline

The whole way Rafał didn't look Damian in the eye. He didn't say a word to him. That hurt. Damian didn't understand why, but it hurt.

When Radosz parked, Rafał quickly thanked him for tonight and ran to the hotel splashing the water that had accumulated in the puddles in the parking lot. He ran away as fast as if a pack of rabid dogs were chasing him.

It was annoying. It was bloody annoying.

Radosz had fallen into a foul mood. He wasn't gay and had never thought of being with a man, but today for some reason he was ready to do it. It was because that guy had kissed him first and aroused his desires and then... and then he said no, it wasn't going to happen. It's like promising a child candy and only giving him the paper.

Bloody annoying!

But maybe it had to do with Rafał's asexuality? Damian knew something about this sexual orientation, but did he know enough? Maybe he resented Rafał because he was judging him in the criteria of his own desire, or maybe Brylski's desires were different? Maybe there was something more hidden here.

Back in his room, Damian started reading online about asexuality. He also learned about the possibility of demisexuality. This was the first time he had encountered the term, but it shocked him. Demisexuality can develop in asexual people and is a sexual attraction to one particular person for whom the asexual person has developed strong, emotional feelings. So if Rafał actually felt physically attracted to Damian enough to kiss him, did that mean he also felt something romantic towards him?

That would change everything and explain why Rafał didn't want a sex friend and valued Damian's friendship above sex.

But how is that possible? How is it possible for Brylski to develop feelings for him in such a short time?

Radosz was reminded of a quote from a certain police c-drama. "It only takes ten seconds to fall in love." After all, Damian himself felt something strange, something indefinable, toward Rafał. This, of course, was not love nevertheless the feeling was pleasant and strong.

Today, in the old building, their hands had been touching for ten seconds, maybe even longer. How long did their gazes meet?

Damian trembled.

The ponies in his heart broke off into a gallop.

What did that actually mean? Why, at the memory of today's kiss, why at the thought that Rafał might feel something for him, Damian felt a joyful excitement? After all, for God's sake, Rafał Brylski is a guy!

Yes, an extremely handsome and charming guy, whom Damian has not been able to tear his thoughts away from since he met him. And on top of that, this guy saved his life today.

That was the adrenaline, Radosz realized. The air was saturated with the electricity of the storm. They both felt anxiety and a certain natural excitement. It was adrenaline. It was purely adrenaline. Yes, Damian could be calm.

Yes, Damian actually felt some relief and immediately afterwards he felt a huge disappointment.

Something in his heart really wished it wasn't just adrenaline.

Someone knocked on his door and Damian twitched all over. He had a foolish, irrational hope that it was Rafał Brylski.

Damian opened the door and... he had to try very hard not to show his disappointment.

Standing in front of his door was not Rafał Brylski, but his assistant, Anita Janiszek. The expression on her face indicated that it would not be a pleasant visit.

“Ms. Janiszek, is something wrong?” Damian asked her sincerely concerned.

“What did you do to Rafał?” the woman asked without any introduction.

Radosz looked around the corridor. He did not see anyone except Brylski's assistant, but some amused voices came from the direction of the stairs.

“Come in, please” he invited her and immediately, closing the door, explained: “I have no idea what you are talking about. I didn't do anything to him.”

“So why doesn't Rafał want to see me?”

Damian thought he did not understand something.

“How do I suppose to know why Rafał doesn't want to see you?” He asked. “Isn't this a private matter between you?”

“Mr. Radosz, I know that you are a rich man and very important on this set, but that is no reason to treat actors like...”

“How?” Damian interrupted her sharply. “I don't know what's got into your head, but I don't like your accusations and especially your tone. Who do you take me for? What do you suspect me of? And above all, do you have evidence? Because if you don't, you're being paranoid.”

“My proof is that Rafał left the hotel with you and came back very upset and does not want to see me," Janiszek said accusingly. “And this is clear evidence that something happened to him. Because he was with you...”

So Rafał came back to the hotel agitated! Well, yes, that was completely predictable. He also didn't want to see his friend, which means he was hiding from her. Does that mean, then, that their kiss there in the abandoned building really made that much of an impression on him?

“Are you even listening to me?!” Anita Janiszek burst out suddenly.

Damian looked at her and did not even try to hide his smile. If Rafał, who had been completely asexual up to that moment, suddenly started to react so violently after the kiss with Damian, it meant that something must have moved in his body and probably in his heart.

“Ms. Janiszek, I really don't know and I don't want to know what you think, but I haven't done anything towards Rafał that I should be ashamed of. And even if I did, aren't you overstepping some boundaries? Rafał is a grown man who can take care of his own business. Do you really not see that you're treating him like a child who needs constant care? Do you really think that such overprotectiveness is good for him?”

Radosz didn't know what kind of relationship the two of them really had, but Anita was really crossing some lines. No assistant, or even friend, had the right to be so possessive.

“We may not have the same last name, but I'm like a sister to him," Janiszek explained cheekily. “I think I have the right to worry about my brother.”

“Does your brother interfere with absolutely everything in your life? Does he break into your friends' rooms and accuse them of God knows what?”

“Of course not!” she said indignantly. “And besides, I don't have...”

“Or should you? Maybe you should both have your own lives? Because as far as I can see, your possessiveness will not bring happiness to either of you.”

“My...?”

The young woman was clearly shocked. In her eyes, Radosz was simply insolent.

However, she did not tell him that. Janiszek looked like she was biting her tongue. Maybe she realized that she had gone a bit too far with her accusations (Radosz was paying for the series) or maybe she began to realize that she had actually meddled a bit too much in Brylski's private life.

After all, even siblings have some secrets from each other. People have to have a certain margin of privacy that they won't give up to others, otherwise they become completely exposed and exposed to blows.

Today Rafał exposed a part of his soul to Damian. Damian had not actually done anything wrong to him. He didn't even say one unpleasant word. It was Rafał himself who had done something that could be described as indecent. After all, it was Rafał who had kissed him first.

But wait, was Damian really completely innocent in this situation? Rafał confessed to him that he was asexual, then on some impulse he kissed him, and then Radosz just like that proposed to him that they become sex friends.

Damian proposed to him that they become sex friends!
