Surprised

"What?" My Lloyd said shocked.

"Nothing," I said quickly.

Harumi clamped her hand on my mouth. "What she means to say, it's true. She's pregnant and you're going to be a father," she said.

I shook my head trying to get her hand off my mouth but it didn't work. "She told us she was worried about how you were going to react," Pixel said.

"Yeah. She hasn't been eating lunch and has been throwing up because of that," Nya added.

I made a frustrated sound from behind Harumi's hand. The traitors! Lloyd looked at me. There's hurt in his eyes. "Were you even planning to tell me?" He asked quietly.

I froze at his tone. Pain, hurt, and a small amount of anger were there. Harumi dropped her hand. "Of course, I was going to tell you," I said. "I was just worried about how you were going to react." I wrapped my arms around him. "Lloyd, I was still trying to come to terms with it."

He gently unwrapped my arms from around his waist and stepped back. "Y/n, that's an important thing. You always tell them stuff before you tell me."

"I..."

He shook his head. "No. I need some time to myself." He walked away.

I whirled. "What was that for?" I snapped at them.

"What was what for?" Harumi said innocently.

"I wanted to be the one to tell him. Now he's pissed at me."

"You were going to keep putting it off. So we decided to help you," Nya said.

"I shouldn't have told you," I said angrily and stormed off. I went into the training room. I would go to my room but Lloyd's probably there and he said he needed time to himself. The door opened and I turned. Other Lloyd shut the door behind him. "What do you want?" I asked unhappily.

He raised an eyebrow. "Hey, I didn't do anything."

"You started it."

"Your symptoms were kind of obvious. I'm surprised Lloyd didn't notice."

"He's been distracted lately," I said defensively.

"Doing what?"

"There's someone else who wants me. Lloyd's been hunting that person down."

"Who?"

"Liam's brother," I mumbled. "We're hoping he doesn't start a war like Liam did."

"Liam had a brother?!?"

"Yes."

"What's his name?"

"Loro."

He blinked. "Both their names start with L."

"Yeah."

"Does he want you because Nightmare is the one who killed Liam?"

"Maybe."

"What does he want from you?"

I shut my eyes. "He wants me to be his...his..." I didn't want to say the stupid word. "His wife," I forced out between clenched teeth. "He also wants me to have his kid."

"You're his niece."

I shook my head. "Loro was adopted. He isn't Liam's blood brother. So that makes him allowed to be with me. Or so he thinks."

Other Lloyd shook his head. "There's no way in hell Lloyd will let him anywhere near you." He paused. "None of us will."

I gave him a small smile. "Good to know."

We were silent for a minute. "How far along are you?" He asked suddenly.

"A month," I muttered.

He blinked. "You've kept this from your husband for a month!?!"

"Shh," I hissed. "Yes. I didn't know how he was going to react and I needed to come to terms with it myself. I freaked out when I found out. I just got myself under control before anyone noticed something was up. But then stupid morning sickness came along and now I don't eat lunch anymore because it all just come right back up."

"You need to talk to Lloyd," he told me.

"I know that! But he wanted time to himself so that's what I'm giving him."

He shook his head. "Go talk to him, Y/n. Don't wait."

"Since when did you become the expert on relationships?" I told him nastily. Then wince. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean that."

He smiled. "I know. Now get going."

I sighed and left the training room. I knocked on my room door and opened it. Lloyd was sitting on the edge of the bed looking at the ground. I sat beside him. We sat in silence for a few minutes. "How far along are you?" He asked finally.

"A month," I said quietly. "Look, Lloyd, I understand it's a lot to take in. Hell, I freaked when I found out. But after I calmed down, I was happy. I'm glad I'm having your child. I should have told you sooner but it took two weeks for me to even come to terms with it. Then for the other two weeks, I was worrying about how you'd react or if you'd even want the baby. I'm sorry."

He didn't look at me. "I'm not going to make you give up the kid."

Relief swept through me. "Okay. That's..."

"But," he interrupted looking at me. "I wish you weren't pregnant."

My happiness disappeared. "Why?"

"Because of Loro! Before I just had to worry about you, now I have to worry about the baby too!"

"The baby isn't going to be here for another eight months," I told him.

He glared. "It can still die," he snapped then he inhaled sharply and let it out slowly. "Sorry. I didn't mean to snap."

I reached out and brushed my fingers against his wings. "It's going to be okay, Lloyd."

"No, it won't. If you lose the baby I know you'll be devastated. I don't want that to happen."

I leaned against his shoulder and slowly the tension drained out of him. He put his arms around me. "The other Ninja are here," I said softly. "They'll help. I promise everything will be fine."

He laid his head on top of mine. "You can't promise that."

I snorted. "Can too. Nightmare doesn't let me out of his sight anymore. He only lets me out of his sight when I'm inside. He checks in with me every hour. He won't let anything happen to me. You know that, right?"

"Yes."

I tilted my head up and kissed him. He kissed me back gently. I broke it off. "Now can you be happy about that baby?"

He looked away. "I don't even know if I'll be a good father."

"You will," I said firmly. "And the baby will love you too."

He sighed. "You aren't going to let me have my doubts, are you?"

I smiled. "Nope."

"Fine," he said drawing the word out.

"Lloyd," I said in a warning tone.

He grinned. "I promise I won't doubt myself. Better?"

I rolled my eyes. "You're just saying that to make me stop bothering you, aren't you?"

He laughed and stood up. "Maybe. Maybe not."

I let myself fall backward on the bed. "I'm going to take a nap. Wake me up if anything important happens."

He looked at me for a minute and then kissed me quickly. "I will." He left the room and I fell asleep.
