A bad night

Chapter 1

Amy Wu had never thought she would get attracted to Evan Gandle, at least not when she had met him through a blind date. Talking about her mother, Clara would never let her daughter alone to be single.

Clara hated every thought of it. When she knew Amy would only date a blue-eyed man, she had arranged a lot of them for a blind date. Frustrated, Amy met Evan, and it has been a year now, and they are still together. That sure is incredible!

'Are you done?' Evan shouted from the room.

'You are going to hurt yourself shouting'. She giggled as she wrapped the towel around her body.

'Guess what?'

'I am done already'. Amy deliberately ignored his question.

'The chocolate is gone'.

'Oh hell'. Amy groaned, hurried to the room.

'Why should you….' Deciding against it, Amy shrugged and walked to the wardrobe.

'You had better get another one for me'.

'You are more beautiful than the first time I saw you'. With a step, he leaned down to place a kiss on her cheek.

'I am getting used to the words that I think you scrammed it'

'Guess so'. Evan jumped lazily on the bed.

'What do you think about this?' Amy threw a cloth at him.

'Perfect!'

'Are you offering that I wear the clothes for you?' Evan drawled lazily.

'Suite yourself'

'Your mom called while you were in the bathroom'. Evan adjusted the cloth on her body.

'I should see her soon, or what do you think?' Amy checked her face in the mirror.

'We go together when you want to'.

Dressed in a Jean and T-shirt, Evan looked his best, the black earring made him look more dazzling. He smiled as he led her outside towards the car.

'I can't stop looking at you'. Evan confessed once inside the car.

'Then suit yourself. Stare as long as you want'. Amy stared into his eyes. They were captivating!

Drawing her with his right hand, Evan raised her head to his with his other hand.

Closing her eyes, Amy breathed heavily, somehow anxious. It has been a year now they have been together. She felt it would end soon.

Of all the men she has fallen in love with, only this has been this long, the others were barely six months before they would leave her and go.

They are many that Amy lost count, it hurts to think about it. She often hopes for a long term relationship, but it seems, until now - at least - everyone wanted to use her to get enough wealth for themselves and leave every bit of her in pieces.

Tears fell down Amy's cheek, she opened her eyes to find Evan's holding hers searchingly.

'What is wrong, honey?' Evan used his thumb to wipe the tears that were already rolling down her cheek.

'Nothing. I am sorry'. She pulled herself away from him and stared out through the window.

Slowing, but deliberately, Evan reached for her hand and held unto it, as if assuring her he would be there for her.

'The moon is beautiful'. Evan said to make the environment less tense.

'Sure'. Amy managed to add.

The dance floor was filled when they arrived. Amy looked around for Emily, she found her on a table, surrounded by two guys, she waved her hand when she saw Amy and excused herself from the company.

'You look gorgeous'. She said as she moved with the rhythm of the loud music.

'Yeah'.

While Emily has light blonde hair, Amy was the opposite with a dark blonde hair. Emily would not settle with a man. She often complains of it being a burden to her. She owns a milling company in town, apparently hers is the best. She has a hell lot of money, and has taken advantage of it to draw men to herself, toil with their feelings and lay them off.

Most of the time, the two have disagreements on how Emily treated men, of course they fought, but that has not changed a bit of how she treated them. Emily and Amy have managed to be friends by avoiding the topic that would attract disagreement, so her way of flirting with men has been a topic brushed aside.

'Is there something wrong?' She peeped into her eyes.

'Nothing, just scared'.

'You should stop thinking about it. It would not happen'. Emily folded her hands across her chest.

'We have gone through these several times and I can predict what will happen'. Emily gave her a smile.

'I hope it lasts'. She said softly.

'Are you tired of it already?' She probed further.

Looking around, Amy nods her head to confirm Emily's fears.

'Then tell him!' She exclaimed.

'Not that. I am just scared'. Amy managed to smile.

'When you are scared, it means it is all over'.

'Are you giving me relationship tips?' Amy looked at her narrowly.

'Maybe, at least I am more experienced than you do'.

'Talking of which. They are waiting for you'. Amy pointed to the two men on the table she had stood up from.

'Those!' She drawled lazily.

'Let them wait. I have no intention of spending the night with them'. 'They are boring'. She added with a wink.

'Shall we dance?' Amy offered.

The two danced slowly at first to the music until the pitch get higher, they danced madly to it.

Emily filled her cup and raised her head to look at her, as if she was going to ask a question. She decided against it and shrugged.

'Where the heck is he?' Amy muttered drunkenly.

'Let's go check. You cannot go home in this state of yours'. Emily took hold of her hand.

Being a bad drinker, Amy often got drunk at the second cup of any alcoholic beverage. It gets worse with gin, because she can barely finish a cup.

She thought she was drunk, Amy used her hand to wipe her face. All the effects of the alcohol seemed to get away at the naked sight of Evan on the floor with a woman beside him. He smiled immediately when he saw her.

'Can you explain this?' Amy demanded, shaking her head furiously as if doubting what she was seeing.

'What is there to explain? You had better go home. I promise to catch up with you at home'. Evan fell on his back, after trying without success to stand up.

'Evan!' Amy screamed.

'I promise to catch up with you. Dorothy would allow me to come. Won't you?' He faced the woman beside him drunkenly.

Emily dragged her away from the scene. She sob quietly as they went to her car. Amy's driver was there already.

She cried her eyes out, doubting if she had really seen it or imagined it.

'You gotta forget it'. Emily told her, holding her hands.

'How could he….' She couldn't finish the sentence before the gin took control of her, she fell on the bed.

For once, Emily was grateful to the gin.
