Keisha stole careful glances at the boy sitting next to her, his knuckles gripping the steering wheel so tightly they were turning white.

The vein popping out of his temple was a testament to his still simmering anger, and the human knew better than to question him in such a state. After watching him pulverize Barry just a few minutes ago, the last thing she wanted was a transfer of aggression.

She was still in shock at what the pureblood had done, the nauseating memory of blood pouring out of Barry's open wounds sending shivers down her spine.

For the first time in her life, she was genuinely scared of Luka.

The murderous look in his eyes when she saw him throw Barry through the window stayed in her mind, and she wondered what could have happened if there weren't so many people around.

If he was alone, Keisha was almost certain that Luka would've killed Barry.

The thought alone was utterly terrifying.
