1.47 Distance

My feet move towards Uncle Fern as he stands there, waving at me. He looks ridiculous wearing a gardener's outfit, tending happily to the bushes lining HPH's front lawn. Gosh. He and Jon are so alike. If I didn't know any better, I'd think they were father and son.

"Hey, Ms. Matthews!" the lady guard yells at me as I escape her grasp, "Where do you think you're going? Come back here!"

I ignore her, walking straight ahead. I have to hurry before I lose sight of Uncle Fern. He doesn't seem to be in a hurry to get away from me, though. He remains in his spot, grinning like an idiot. By the time I reach, I am out of breath.

"Hello, dear. Can I help you with something?" Uncle Fern asks me with no recognition in his eyes.

"You..." I start, but I forget what I wanted to tell him. This whole time I've been looking for him. But now that I'm standing in front of him, I can't think of anything to say.
