chapter 6

Lewis sat on the sofa next to Joan's bed and stared at her , she might not remember him but , he remembers all about her , same kindergarten, junior and senior high school.

He smiled at the memories, she was clumsy and still clumsy, she was a back bencher ,she had no friends but bully's , the only friend she had was the gate man's cat , she would feed her and that made her so happy.

He blamed himself for not standing for her maybe they would have stopped but he was too naive to go against them , after they would pour her food he would place milk and cake on her class desk , but she still didn't notice him .

A message popped up on his phone and he unlocked and read , he immediately stood but met with Beth on his way out .

" How's your new home did you like it, is it comfortable??" he was concerned. " yes very , am sure Joan will like it too , am so grateful " she bowed but lewis held her up

" aunt no need of that , am happy to help , so please don't keep thanking me " He was taught to help if he had chance to, so there's no need for her to thank him so much , after all he was doing it for Joan.

" I have a meeting to attend so I'll leave ," she smiled " no problem safe journey," he bowed and left. she went in and placed a basin she had carried from home and a wiping towel , Joan couldn't stand a day without a good shower ,so she wiped her carefully, she remembered how when she was young she would enjoy a warm bath.

After she was done ,she sat at her bed and looked at her, they don't have happy memories that they shared, she was always so busy with work, her husband never loved or cared about her , on family day or school events he never attended not even one he would say, " those are childish events, besides she's not a child she can bare it alone or maybe stay at home and be productive."

she walked to window, the view outside was amazing, the sun was setting , she hoped that it would set with their problems and misfortunes, that way they would leave a peaceful life . Her phone rang pulling her out of her thoughts.

Her bad days never ends, her ex husband was calling, " Hello ex wife" he dragged the words to make them clear , " haven't you broken the news yet that we were married and now not together??" he smirked mockingly her.

"what do you want!! " he doesn't have the right to rub that on her face .

" Am sending divorce papers so send me your address and tell you parents and desperate sister to stop pestering me we are no longer family and never was " he's too much after everything she went through for him he just choose to step on her like some rug.

" No need for the address, let's meet next week at park hotel and get things done." after her statement she hanged up. Justin on the other side happy that she was miserable, that's all he wanted, he's been playing with ladies heart but he thought Beth was different but after she cheated with another man, his growing feelings died down and he promised that she will be punished for her sins.
