CHAPTER 17: TELL HIM ABOUT HIS FATHER

Shane and I sorted out everything first before meeting each other's kids. I still need to talk to Shan about everything.

Talk to my parents, my best friend Shay too. I have a lot of things to be in order before planning about marriage.

We talked Shane about telling each other's family separately so that when everything is okay. I will plan our wedding just a simple one.

'Wait! Did we just tell each other that we need not to rush? Why am I thinking? We agreed to move together.' I sighed. 'That's why Shane was smirking at me the whole time.

Shaking my head, I do not know what it is anymore. All I want for now is to be complete family with our kids.

I cooked for our dinner when Shan came from school. He had practice for basketball.

"Hey, buddy, how was your day?" I asked, smiling at him.

He gave a kiss on the cheek and I did the same to him. "It was fine Mom; I love everything that I do and I always do great." He answered.

"Okay, take a rest first before taking a shower. Dinner will be ready in 30 minutes." I smiled.

"Got it Mom, I will be right back." He disappeared from my sight and to finish my thing.

Just in time I finished all the things on the table when Shan came in the kitchen. Fresh from the shower and I can smell his body wash I bought.

"Right on time kiddo, hurry up and dig in. I know you are starving from practice." I smiled, giving him rice on his plate. "I always cooked your favorites."

"Thank Mom, I can smell it as I came in." Shan sat down and starts placing dishes into his plate.

I watched him for a moment. He really is starving. I chuckled, the more I stare at him the more he looks like Shane. The way they eat and the way they move.

Tonight, I will tell him about his father. This is the right time for him to know. I know he waited for so long. I focused on my foods so that we could finish and talk one on one.

I was nervous as I put my last spoon of food into my mouth. I saw Shan his plate almost empty. I was chewing like forever so I picked up my glass of water to swallow it all into my throat.

When I saw he was done and drinks his water I quickly opened my mouth before he will go to his room.

"Shan, honey, I have something to tell you." I said, glancing at me. "I have been dating this guy and you know that, right?" I saw him nodded. "I love this guy since we were younger, we met again and dating too. He is the only guy I have dated since we came here." My eyes were focus on Shan to know his reaction in every detail I will tell him. "His name is Shane Cox."

"You are dating, Dr. Cox?" he asked surprisingly.

"Huh! How did you know he is a doctor?" It got me surprise too. "You already met him?"

"He is our school doctor and treated my wound last time." He told me.

I saw that wound in his arm. It was not big that's why I was not worried and it treated well.

"He is working in your school. I did not know that. I thought he is working in the hospital." I speak.

"I do not know Mom; I only saw him that day I think it was Friday." He has spoken. "But I like him for you, Mom; I think he is a nice man. I am okay with it. I like him too.

I gestured with my head. "Anyway, since you like him for me and for you. I think there is more to that son." I pronounced. "Remember, you were asking me about your father." He never blinked his eyes on me. "I was young when I had you, right?" He nodded. "He is your real father, Shan. Dr. Shane Matt Cox is your real father. He did not know you exist until yesterday."

He never response but still his eyes were confused. "I know I should have told you about him. But I was anxious on how to tell him and to tell you."

"Does he like me when he knew about me?" At last, he responds, I thought he was mad deep inside. His eyes were curious and excited to know more about him.

"Yes, he was the one who discovered about your existence." I gushed at him. "Now, I know where he got your blood. It was from the wound you got when he treated you. He talked to me and told him everything just like I did to you know."

I saw him smiling at me. "He loves you too, baby. And he wants to meet you as his son. Are you willing to meet him?" I inquired.

"Yes, Mom!" He replied.

"He was married once but his wife died. They have a daughter younger than you. I think same school with you. Are you going to meet them and accept his daughter, as your sister?" I added.

He got up and embraced me. He was sobbing and I was crying too. We were like that for a moment I let him cry. To let it out what is inside his heart, mind and soul.

I know part of me hurts for not telling him everything. As he begun to mind his surroundings. But it was not yet too late to start a new beginning.

I can feel that he was calm. He let me go from hugging and wiping his tears in his palm.

"You know, Mom that I wanted a complete family just like any kids." He said, I nodded wiping my own tears looking at his eyes. "I can accept everything even having a sister. I will love them too just like I love you and grandma and grandpa."

My tears were overflowing as I heard his answered. It was all that I needed, Shane and I needed. So, we can start to build a home with our own house. I hugged Shan tight and whispered in his ears. "I love you son so much.
