34 A KISS IN THE RAIN
'The light of dawn seeping into my room. I rub my bleary eyes and walk to the window. There's a pearly glow in the sky. He's still asleep, I wash up and head down to make some scrumptious breakfast. While I'm cooking he back hugs me, I stop and turn to peck him on the lips. He grins and I return the smile.
The blue sky is dotted with fluffy white clouds that drift lazily in the gentle breeze,
we're playing on our terrace, not just me and him, all the members of ORIONS, Kenma throwing the ball over the terrace accidentally and Jin scolding him, Namhyuk shaking his head and Hobi going down to get the ball, Yuki asleep under the shades, Kyo mocking at Kenma for getting scolded while me and Taehyung giggling and laughing radiantly.'
This being a part of my Utopian vision, I just love even the thought of it.
Soon we lied down on the grass, beneath the shade of a sycamore tree, exhausted from all the jumping and running around wildly, the rain had become lighter than earlier.
Night had finally befallen me, wrapping the day in its dark blanket, filling the inky night sky with its specks of light. Sweet-smelling rain-washed darkness, sky freckled with stars.
"A day to remember for sure" I broke the silence, and turned my head to the right such that I was facing him.
"Definitely. I knew it would be a good idea to bring you here." I was extremely glad to know that, that he feels good to be around me.
In the night I am as the flora of nature, alive and unseeing, existing only as myself. With eyes closed I am at home, he makes me feel like I'm at home, and the blackness around is my cocoon, a place in which my dreams may flow freely. So, as the moon and stars shine above the passing clouds of ink, as the air releases the heat of the day, my brain conjures a new movie for my inner eye.
"Don't you dare sleep here" I open my eyes instantly to find a pouting Taehyung sitting with his arms crossed. "If you were that sleepy you should've stayed at home instead"
I was staying at home, he's the one who dragged me here.
"I won't, obviously not!" I jerked up and sat too, it was almost like he read my mind, that I was about to drift off in my fanciful fantasies.
"We are the fireworks in this velvet dark," Taehyung said out of the blue "the blaze that dares to light up the night." I continued unknowingly.
Taehyung looked at me, the lines we just said were evocative. The way we completed the quote or lyric or whatever that was it made me feel as though we belonged together. But I knew this feeling wasn't mutual. A poigant reminder that he's not mine.
But just as I was lost in my own sadistic thoughts I felt something tender on my lips.
I opened my eyes wider than I ever had.
Did he just? he didn't!
Our eyes met, it started to rain again, heavier than earlier.
In the rain Taehyung's hair becomes one with his face, wetly draped over the bone structure that drives me crazy. His expression is serious. I wonder if he knows how crazy that drives me, how it makes me want to feel every inch of his skin. At this moment, here at the serene park, we can't. I pull his hand to stop him and move in front, toe to toe. He rolls his eyes in that way he does when he's really happy but feeling too macho to show it and we kiss. The night melts away, the trees seem happy too and the moment is ours. For the kiss it's as if we've been transported somewhere heavenly and perhaps if it weren't for the cold Seoul rain I might believe we had.
There is something so heavenly about a kiss in the rain, a tender moment that just won't wait. It is that burst of love that is expressed, not caring if the water soaks through to chill the skin. It is a connection that shows the strength of the feeling, the mutual need. It is a rebellion against the elements. Nature can bring the rain but our inner sunshine comes through just the same.
The sound of the rain filled my ears, he deepened the kiss and I gasped for air in between, he smirked, he knew what he was doing. I'm in Love, his hand moved down my spine and pulled me closer, I'm in love with Kei Taehyung.
