3 The Dinner menu.

A girl was standing in front of the mirror, looking at her hazel eyes. There was a beautiful gown decorated with a golden floral pattern on a huge king-size bed in a cozy bedroom. The room had big light green curtains on each side of the long broad glass windows. There's a big wooden cabinet at the side of the white-colored sofa. A lovely garden outside the room windows. A large fountain at the center of the large garden.

The bird was chirping outside the room.

A beautiful melody comes out of the music box on the dressing table.

The girl was humming to the beautiful music as her maid brushed the girl's hair.

My lady, the maid said.

Yes, Paula, the girl said.

Why don't you just ask your father, the maid said with a relaxed expression on her face, your curiosity doesn't leave you.

I know, but when I tried to place this question in front of my father, he always changed the topic, the girl said anxiously.

As the maid finished styling the girl's hair,

The sound of the thump on the door shortens their conversation.

A tall masculine man in a blue uniform with a feather on one side of the hat that was covering his head said "Are you ready milady, Duchess of Campbell sent me to check on you"

Just a couple more minutes I'll be there, tell my mother, the girl said abruptly.

As you say milady.

The man bowed with one hand placed on his back before leaving the room.

Finishing it in a hurry, the girl anxiously said to Paula, who is standing beside the wooden cabinet, give me my Amulet. If my father sees me like this with no amulet on my neck, no one's gonna save me from his wrath.

Paula chuckles as she takes the Amulet out of the cabinet.

"Young lady, you're not behaving like a noble", Paula said with a stupefying tone.

Both start to laugh,

...

Stop it, don't copy my mother if you're seen like this. You'll be punished, the girl said. She rushed to the main hall.

...…..

A woman in her perfectly fitted gown that covered each curve of her sat beside Duchess Lillian. She had cheekbones with freckles and beautiful black colored eyes.

As the girl entered the hall, Come sit here, marigold, the Duchess said to the girl.

Marigold then sat on the red velvet sofa that had a golden border over both sides of the sofa.

Such a beautiful day, Porsha said to Lillian.

Lillian then passed a smile to Porsha.

You had such a beautiful daughter.

Porsha said with a smile.

Lady Porsha was the wife of Viscount Edward Jones. She was famous because of her passion for gown design.

...

Greetings, lady Porsha, your garden has such beautiful flowers. I'd like to visit them again. Marigold said to lady Porsha with a delightful expression.

Of course, my dear, whenever you want to, Lady Porsha said with a smile.

Paula was standing beside Marigold,

She lowered her head and whispered in her ear, it's good if we leave this conversation, let them talk, or you may collapse because of boredom.

Marigold chuckled as she stood up from the sofa gracefully.

Mother, I want to visit Lady Katherine in the infirmary. I heard she's getting weaker. Marigold said to Duchess Lillian.

Yes, you may, and also give my regards to her. I would visit her some other time. Lillian said with politeness.

Marigold gracefully bows in front of her mother as she leaves the hall.

There were loud voices of two women yelling at each other coming from the Kitchen. Paula hurried towards the kitchen.

I already told you to make chicken broth, for our lady, but you didn't listen. The first maid said furiously. I am sorry, I didn't get your message properly when you sent the list of the dishes for dinner, the second maid said steadily in a trembling voice.

What's going on here? marigold said abruptly.

Both maids suddenly bowed in front of the marigold. The first maid in her fifties said that this girl changed today's dinner menu and our duke doesn't like it if anything is misplaced on the table, no matter if that's the crockery or the dishes.

Tell me what's the reason for this change? Marigold said to the second maid, who is in her twenties.

The kitchen was large, there were big wooden tables in the corners. A large fireplace was in the middle of the kitchen. A large steel pot was hung with iron hooks in the middle of the fireplace, smoke was coming out of the pot lid.

Suddenly the second maid showed a piece of paper to marigold.

Marigold took the paper from the maid's hands and started to check the menu.

There's no chicken broth written here.

Marigold said while frowning at the first maid.
