Anemone

2 years later

"Auntie!!! Good Morning!!!" a soft and care-free voice was heard behind the middle-aged woman who is watering the mini garden in front of her house.

"Oh, Dear! Lily!" the middle-aged woman shrieked and faced the girl who is riding a bicycle and smiling sweetly in front of her.

"Auntie, here" Lily chuckled while getting off on her bicycle and giving the colorful bouquet of Red and pink anemone flowers.

"Thank you, dear. That's right don't do that again, you always scaring me aren't you?" the middle-aged woman scolded the girl who is still giggling ahead of her.

"Ummm, let me think about it" Lily grinned jokingly, staring at the middle-aged woman who took the bouquet of anemone flowers in her hands.

"You really... hayss kids these days" the middle-aged woman cannot help but sigh to Lily's antics.

"Ummm... Auntie Beth, why did you choose anemone flowers?" Lily asked.

"Why dear?" Auntie Beth replied, adoring the beauty of the flowers in her hands.

'Anemone indicates fading hope and a feeling of having been forsaken. I think that's what it means' Lily thought

"Just curious, Auntie Beth" Lily said sheepishly while scratching the back of her head.

"Hahhaha okay dear" Auntie beth laughed while pinching the cheek of Lily. What a cute curious little girl' Auntie Beth thought looking at the girl who is rubbing her cheek.

"Let me tell you something dear. Do you know what is the meaning of this flower?" Auntie beth asked.

"Anemone flowers have different kinds of variety of colors and the colors of Anemone depict its meaning. Since Auntie Beth ordered a bouquet of red and pink anemone flowers then it means... Ummm it symbolizes death or forsaken love. Am I wrong Auntie?" Lily announced, looking at the middle-aged woman who is looking so far away wearing that sad look in her eyes.

"Yes dear, you are right about that" Auntie Beth chuckled sadly remembering the memories that should be hidden deep in her mind.

"Auntie are you okay? I should've not asked about it. I'm so so..." Lily murmured, feeling guilty because she saw how sad her auntie is while saying the meaning of anemone flowers but before she can finish what she wanted to say Auntie Beth interjected her

"Don't be dear, I know you are just curious... in a good way and I like that about you. I mean I like that you asked yourself about it and you are like a daughter of mine. Hahaha so let's stop this emotional conversation it's destroying the bright and joyful mood in the morning" Auntie Beth chuckled patting the head of the little girl who began to smile.

"You're right auntie." Lily smiled sweetly to her understanding aunty.

"Well, then auntie I have to go now I still have to deliver these." Lily sighed pointing at the remaining bouquet of flowers in the basket of her bicycle. "Nice talking to you Auntie bye-bye take care". Lily grinned, hopping on her bicycle.

"Take care dear!" Auntie Beth shouted, looking at the girl who began cycling.

Hearing Auntie Beth's slightly faraway voice, Lily turned back waving her left hand and smiling wildly.

'Anemone... on a good note, it symbolizes anticipation. Anticipation hah..."

By that Lily just smiled, facing the road where her journey begins.
