A Fatherly Affection

Adrian Bishop was sitting in the dark in his four bedroom condo. He was fuming inside. He couldn't believe his so called son had pulled a gun at him. He knew Damien, and thus he was absolutely sure Damien had intended to kill him. Adrian saw it in his eyes, the deep rooted hatred towards him. Well the feelings was mutual.

Adrian Bennett Salvatore was born in a middle class family. His father owned a garage and his mother was a kindergarten teacher. He had six siblings, five of them younger than him. The sixth was his twin Andrew, the thorn in his life even after death.

Adrian grew up in a home with love and laughter. To others it was a picture perfect family, but Adrian hated all of them from the deepest core of his heart. His hatred was especially potent towards Andrew. Oh the perfect Andrew! He thought bitterly. Being twins they looked similar if not identical. Andrew was taller, his features sharper. He was brilliant in studies as well as sports. He had perfect manners and the teachers couldn't praise him enough.

No matter how much Adrian tried Andrew was always a step ahead of him. While growing up Adrian and Andrew was constantly compared both in his home and outside. Adrian was not bad in studies and sports but it seemed Andrew was blessed with God gifted talents. Though Andrew never himself boasted and was always humbly polite but Adrian couldn't stop the bitter jealousy that consumed him slowly. The last blow came when they reached their university to finish their final degree. But he refused to think about it again.

Adrian closed his eyes reclining in his chair as he thought of his past. He was already drunk. It had been three weeks since the Damien incident and he had been trying to get back to his dear son in vain. Damien was a powerful enemy and on top of that he was shrewd and calculative. In the game of chess between them Damien was already two steps ahead. Damien didn't have any weakness and crack in his carefully build fortress. It was impenetrable.

Adrian finished one drink after another. The raw whiskey burned his throat setting his mind aflame. He looked at the picture on the mantle piece. It was a picture of him smiling at the camera, his ex-wife Estella Bishop standing beside him, A five year old Damien clutching her finger whereas a almost two year old Drake sitting on the floor, looking up at them. A happy normal family.

'What a stupid illusion', thought Adrian and he grabbed the picture and threw it against the wall braking the glass frame into pieces. He closed his eyes again taking himself back to that moment his life altered.

It was a normal day for the Salvatore family. His mother hastily prepared the siblings for school, kissed his father goodbye and left for her early morning classes. His father generally left after their mother. Adrian and Andrew were scheduled to leave next for their university. They have already found a dorm which much to Adrian's agitation they would have to share.

He hated Andrew's existence, hated to even breathe in the same air as him. But he was cunning enough to know he couldn't show his hatred against the golden child of the family. Anyway in just three years he would be free of all these and as soon as he got a job he would move as far as he could.

Just as they were about to leave their father called them both. He looked at Andrew and asked, "do you need money son?" His voice reflected adoration, his eyes shone with pride.

"No dad, I still have some from my weekly allowance left." Said Andrew. Adrian rolled his eyes. If the perfect boy was not such a nerd, if he would have gone to parties like every normal boys, if he would have spent money like every other normal boys, and if and only if he hadn't been such an pretentious asshole then he couldn't have saved from the meagre pocket money they received.

Their father however thought different. "Don't hesitate to tell me if you need more. You need to eat properly, buy books…..go on dates?" He said with a booming laugh.

"Thanks dad, but am good." Said Andrew politely.

Finally their father seemed to realise Adrian was also in the room. His expression turned stern. "Hope you will not disappoint us again Adrian, your grades seems to be dropping steadily. Also I am not going to bother myself again if you engage in another fist fight. Why, just why can't you be more like your brother?"

"I am not Andrew dad, and I believe my grades are pretty good. Also I have told you at least hundred times that I was provoked. But you seem to conveniently ignore that." Said Adrian gritting his teeth. The constant comparison, constant berating was getting on his nerves.

Mr. Salvatore angrily rose from his seat, but before he could say or do anything Andrew quickly moved in between. "Please dad, it was seriously not his fault. Please don't take it out on him" he said earnestly.

Mr. Salvatore looked at Adrian with fire in his eyes but he didn't say anything as Adrian stormed out of the room banging the door.

They reached the university together since both Adrian and Andrew shared an old rustic van. On the way they both remained silent. Andrew tried to start conversation once or twice but Adrian firmly ignored his brother.

Still life was somehow rolling for him as Adrian concentrated earnestly on completing his studies and escaping from his family. One dull cloudy morning he heard the gossips about the daughter of the business magnate Mr. Bishop joining their university in the freshman year. Due to some issues the girl joined late. Adrian was curious to see the girl as most of his batchmates couldn't stop talking about the girl. He thought it was usual curiosity for the new girl and didn't pay much heed and went on about his day as usual.

He was waiting for Andrew to finish his classes so that they could return to their dorm when he first saw Estella. She was stunning, an epitome of beauty. With full cherry red lips, long midnight black hair she looked regal. Adrian stood stunned as he watched the girl. The whole world blurred and only the girl held his undivided attention. He felt as if the sun parted the dull grey clouds and shone particularly on her. He never believed in love at first sight but this girl, this girl was born for him. He had to have her.

He noticed the girl was smiling shyly at someone with light blush in her cheeks. Adrian couldn't see who she was smiling at because the person was standing behind a column. Without thinking Adrian started walking towards her like a moth drawn towards flame. As he reached near his feet stopped on his own accord. Andrew, his treacherous brother looked at him from behind the column and smiled waving enthusiastically at him beckoning him nearer. Like a lifeless automated being Adrian walked towards them, desperately trying to school his expression.

"Estella, this is Adrian, my twin," said Andrew flashing a smile on his too handsome face that Adrian hated to the core. "Could you give us two minutes? I'll be right back."

Estella didn't even bother to greet Adrian her eyes only on Andrew as she nodded with a besotted smile that made Adrian sick. Andrew quickly grabbed Adrian's upper arm and almost dragged him to a corner.

"Buddy, you have to go back alone," he said throwing him the van keys. "I am going to be a little late," he added with a wink.

"Where are you going?" Said Adrian before he could stop himself.

"On a date?" Said Andrew blushing a little. "Look man I know we only met today. But I swear she is the one bro, I have never felt like this. Also she is in all my classes, how cool is that? Adrian, help me out bro, cover for me, I wanna know if my feelings are right." Said Andrew in one breath.

A storm was brewing in Adrian's heart. But as usual his exterior was calm and composed. He couldn't tell Andrew that he felt the same, that he wanted this woman for himself, instead he said, "of course bro, enjoy!" With an aching heart he watched the duo get inside an expensive car, laughing and jostling at each other.

That very day Adrian realised there was no place in this world for both of them. That very day Adrian decided to remove the trace of Andrew from this earth. He understood he would never be able to get anything if his twin breathed. That very day three dices rolled in his convoluted jealousy addled brain, 666, rewriting the destiny for many.

It was a usual hectic day for Damien. He cracked three new fresh deals, attended numerous meetings, successfully caused nervous breakdown of a so called entrepreneur, broke few bones of those unfortunates who dared to cross him. All in all it was a pretty normal day for him.

When he reached the office Damien was already exhausted, his temper running high. He tiredly dropped himself on his chair irritatedly looking at the mountains of files on his desk. Sighing he loosened his tie and turned towards Smith, his secretary, who was respectfully standing beside him with his note pad ready to take down the instructions.

Damien was about to open his mouth to enquire and instruct about the day's proceedings when his eyes fell on the large bay window overlooking the garden.

Liam was sitting quietly on the grass. He was staring into nothingness, his expression appeared bored as he chewed his finger nails. Luke was standing close to him in stoic silence, while Remi, another of Liam's guard appeared to try to engage the boy into some communication. Liam occasionally nodded and smiled in response to Remi but otherwise sat in silence.

Damien watched Liam for few minutes, observing in rapt, hungry attention. Past couple of weeks since Liam completely surrendered to him they almost had sex nonstop throughout the night. Damien even deliberately scheduled most of his meetings in his home office so that he could have chance to fuck Liam in between his meetings. To his astonishment and absolute pleasure he found that the boy was almost insatiable.

Now that Liam knew how his body would feel he welcomed Damien with glazed lust filled eyes with the slightest stimulation. Damien was a true sadist but he discovered that his new found obsession was in pleasuring Liam. He gained possessive delight in marking Liam with bites and hickeys and the boy returned with markings of his own with his nails scratching all over Damien's back in drunk pleasure.

Damien's initial deduction of discarding Liam after fucking him to his heart's content was an almost distant forgotten memory. The more he had Liam, the more his addiction grew, consuming him completely. The mere thought of Liam not being there when he returned ignited a fire in his heart promising to destroy everything in his path.

Everything in Damien's life had changed. His bedroom visibly showed the presence of another being. The clothes in his wardrobe were pushed at one side as Liam's occupied a significant portion of it. On his working desk along with his files and important documents there were comic books and various half done drawings. In his bathroom there were not one but two tooth brushes, the shower cabinet had strawberry scented body wash and shampoo along with Damien's own spicy scented ones.

Damien was never used to having anyone in his personal space, nor had he ever dreamt of allowing anyone. But now when he came to his room at night and saw his boy lying on his stomach in his bed engrossed in reading books, his soft mouthwatering scent lingering in the air, he felt like home.

Damien turned to Smith and cleared his throat. He opened his mouth to say something and then closed looking like a fish gulping for air. Smith looked at him curiously. Damien kept on looking like him like a dork but didn't say anything.

Smith started to grow nervous. "Wh..what is it Sir?" He asked anxiously.

"Howtogonadt" muttered Damien.

"Sir?" Asked Smith not understanding.

Damien gulped and cleared his throat again.

"How to go on a date?" He asked slightly turning red.

Smith suppressed his smile.

"Ah a date sir?"

"Are you dumb?" Damien asked clearly agitated over his question. " I asked you very clearly." He said trying and failing to appear stern.

"No sir…yes sir. Ummm a date I mean its supposed to be very romantic. You could go to a fancy restaurant?"

"Who said I am asking for myself?" Said Damien almost shouting.

"Of course not sir," said Smith instantly agreeing.

"Book the best Italian restaurant for tonight" instructed Damien.

"Sure sir, but may I say something?" Asked Smith testing the waters.

"Go ahead".

"Umm you know success of a romantic date depends on who are the two parties involved."

"What do you mean?"

"Ahhh I meant you know if its a teenager, not that I am saying it is, but if, just in case it is he might not enjoy dinner at a fancy restaurant."

"It was your idea, was it not?" Said Damien unnecessarily whisper yelling.

"Sure sir, but its just that a teen boy who is cooped in a same place for a long time might want to watch a movie and then perhaps a meal at Mcdonalds." Said Smith eagerly.

"Very well check what movies are running in the theatre now that the so called teen ager would like and book the entire movie hall." Said Damien rising from his seat. His heart was beating fast. He didn't himself know why he impulsively decided to take Liam on a date. He didn't even remember when was the last time he watched a movie in the theatre.

Would Liam like it? Would he enjoy their date? With shocking realisation he came to the terms he wanted to please Liam. Liam, whom he thought of as his property, his pet, was making him sweat in nervous anticipation that whether or not he would like their upcoming date.

"Fuck"! He muttered. He was doomed, doomed indeed.
