Chapter 3: Just a name

The next morning, the couple came to pick up Diana from the hospital and after the doctor said everything was alright she could leave. Diana arrived at the apartment of the couple and with the help of the woman (Rosa) she was led into the well furnished living room. Diana gasped as she saw that almost everything was made of glass.

Rosa sat her down on the couch and handed her a glass of fruit juice which was readily placed on the table.

"thanks so much madam Rosa." Diana smiled and sipped the juice.

"not madam Rosa, you can call me mum if you like." She replied patting Diana's hair.

"mum...mum." Diana replied slowly.

"what's wrong did I say something wrong?" Rosa asked.

"no nothing at all it's just that my mom died when I was three years old and since then I never called anyone mum except from myr stepmom who later ruined her life." Diana replied looking at the worried Rosa.

"I'm so sorry if I brought that up." Rosa apologized.

"it's fine but why did you ask me to call you mum." She asked.

"it's just that you look just like my late daughter only she's a little chubbier than you." Rosa replied.

"really she looks just like me." Diana smiled.

"yes, okay time to rest." Rosa said and together they stood up and went upstairs to Diana's new room.

Ethan checked up the information last night but nothing was found except for a name 'Diana Stewart'. Ethan pinched the space between his brows as he rolled his office chair, a slight knock was heard.

"come in." Ethan's cold voice was heard and his assistant opened the door.

"good morning boss." The assistant greeted.

"here are the files you requested." The assistant continued stretching the files but Ethan just nodded and the assistant kept the files on the table ready to leave when Ethan's voice was heard:

"is that what you call an information." Ethan asked standing up from his chair with both hands in his front pockets.

"boss...that was all I could find about her, only a name please spare me." He begged but Ethan just smirked.

"just a name, do you ever take your work seriously." Ethan lashed angrily.

"25% deducted from your salary, now leave." Ethan replied angrily pointing towards the direction of the door.

He flopped back into his chair thinking about the scene of the other night, he couldn't help but think about her. He never had any sexual desire for a woman but this girl made him have sleepless nights. He needed to look for her. But where he only had her name.

The next morning, Ethan arrived work early since he couldn't sleep, so he ordered his assistant to bring him a cup of coffee after placing the coffee on the table he spoke.

"boss your grandparents are inviting you to the monthly family dinner tommorow." He said.

"I'm busy don't have much time." Ethan replied without looking away from what he was doing.

"boss your grandmother says she wouldn't take her medicines or eat if you wouldn't come."

"always looking for a way or another to get me to do what I don't want to do." Ethan murmured and looked up to face his assistant.

"clear my schedule, I'll be there by 12pm sharp.". He replied raising his hand indicating for his assistant to leave.
