There might also be fight scenes that seem forced but please bear with me. I promise that it will get better and if you have any problems please leave a comment on what it is and I'll try to fix it. After announcing the obvious outcome of the last fight, the overseeing disciple started handing out robes of different colors to the participants. The ones that placed from 256th to 80th place all received white robes with a cloudy design to wear.

79th to 20th place received grey robes and 10th to 3rd place received grey robes. Varian and Jie Jian on the other hand received blue robes with gold highlights. Following that every single person received a green jade token with a number on it for their houses within the outer court of the sect.

After that, everyone was given a tour of all the important places of the sect before being dismissed. Everyone dispersed and went towards their houses while some left the sect to pack their things.

As for Varian, well he had more important things to do so he went towards the library in the sect.

As he walked through the sect, he saw a three storey tall building that had an plaque marked 'Hidden Library'. If he thought it would take a while finding it he was wrong. These people make everything way too obvious.

After walking towards the building for a minute, as soon as he reached the door the scent of old books assaulted his nostrils. This made him sure he would find what he was looking for here.

After walking inside he saw an elderly looking man sitting behind a desk and lazily flipping through a book. He glanced at Varian and said, "New disciples without merit are only allowed to read books on the first floor. You are only allowed 4 hours of time before I kick you out. Mark your badge number here and go away."

"..."

Varian just sighed and did as he said. He had more important things to do after all.

He walked pass a couple of signs. They read 'Martial Techniques ', 'Cultivation Techniques', 'Body Refining Techniques'. They were pretty straightforward and anyone could understand them.

The first thing he did was go straight towards the body cultivation technique ailse, he had to figure out of his body and everyone else's here were drastically different as he thought.

[Uhh... I read about these things in novels so I already had a basic understanding but... dantian... it's obviously something I don't possess, along with meridian and such.]

What he was reading was a book titled 'Basic Body Biography'. It was one of the most common books in this ailse which helps one understand their own body along with the essentials to start their path of cultivation.

Dantian was like a storage for a type of energy which in this case would be Qi while meridian would be something akin to a second vein that transport that energy throughout the body. It is located between the belly button and the pubic region.

[Ugh, this is problematic, I'll have to start from scratch to get these things if there's even a way to get them. I'll just focus on what I can improve right now.]

Thinking that he went through the ailse and picked up a few body cultivation techniques before memorizing them and putting them back. There weren't much here since not everyone was interested in this type of cultivation in the sect and from what he learnt so far it's looked down upon.

After an hour of looking through those he went towards the cultivation technique ailse. He didn't have to spend as much time here since it was pretty straightforward to begin with plus the knowledge he had about it from reading all the novels, but it was better to try and prove theories than just procrastinating about it.

And so, he memorized almost all the techniques available and compiling it all into one.

Basically cultivation techniques helps in gathering and absorbing the Qi in the surrounding and storing it inside the body. The stored Qi is then moved around inside the body through the meridians and improving the quality of the body and nourishing it.

[ I guess this is how they live so long.]

After that he went towards the 'Martial Technique' ailse. He wasn't really interested in learning new martial arts at this moment but it never hurts to try and improve what he already knew. Thinking that he went and picked up a few things called movement technique, a sword technique and two fist technique and started flipping through them for the remainder of the time he had left.

A couple minutes later he left the library and went to search for his new abode. It was pretty close considering it was close to inner part of the sect and close to the library itself so it didn't take long to find.

The house was the size of an average family house in America, not too big and not too small. The outside looked like any other building inside the sect consisting of wooden double doors, circular windows, a small pond with fish inside and some rocks.

It wasn't much to look at but it was better than the hut he used to live in atleast. Without thinking too much he went inside to rest for the day.

-Library-

"Did you see what he was doing?" The old man that Varian saw at the library asked with a lazy expression.

"Yes... although it didn't seem like he was doing much. All he did was flip through a couple books for four hours before leaving." A man replied.

"Did you see what kinds of books he read? Or did you have any idea what he was looking for perhaps?" With the same lazy expression the old man asked.

"Yes, I will bring them to you if you want them. They were all common knowledge books after all so there wasn't anything useful for him in those books at this stage of his life. And other than the martial techniques... well he didn't look very interested at all."

"Bring them to me, I want to see what he was looking for by wasting four hours flipping through them."

"Yes, master." The man gave a bow and left to pick up the books.

[Heh. Interesting, very interesting.]
