Run, and Don’t Stop

Silk glared at Strocker, he didn't like being forced into any situation. "Strocker, get my suit," he said curtly.

"If you need it I would be happy to," Strocker nodded.

"Leave my rapier behind while you're at it if your feeling kind," Silk said.

Strocker glared in response. "I'd rather not. There's no telling what you'd do with it."

"Fine. Just go," Silk said looking more closely around the room. Strocker turned and walked away with quick steps. He seemed to think this was urgent.

"I've never seen Director Strocker take orders like that. You've had quite the impact on his life." Dr Miller said.

Silk ignored him. He was in a particularly bad mood. "Dr Tanner and Dr Miller, can you explain the problem as simply as possible bearing in my that this isn't my expertise."

"It comes with two problems," Dr Tanner responded. "The brain won't meld with the organic system in the android and the power in the android isn't sufficient to maintain the energy levels it needs to function."

"Okay, do you have anything to make notes?" Silk asked scratching his head.

"Of course," Dr Stoneheart said handing him a pen. "It will write on air so just go ahead."

Silk smiled in joy, "a pen. I love these things, this is the reason the pen is mightier than the sword." He looked it over quickly, "a basic model but with a few modifications this can be something great."

"It's a pen. It writes, what more do you want?" Dr Stoneheart asked insincerely.

"So much," Silk smiled. He started noting down the information to his right. "Dr Miller, show me the organic system."

"Just look in here," she moved to the side to give Silk a good view.

The android seemed to have a nervous system of organic looking wires. Silk touched them and they were much to rigid to be organic but they matched with the metal cell. He sent a tiny bit of magic into the system and stretched it along the system. Feeling his energy the fault seemed so obvious.

"Your nervous system is based loosely on prosthetic and advanced further than I have ever seen." Silk said pointing the back of the pen at the inside of the android. An image of the inside of the android appeared behind him.

"This won't work." Silk continued. "The fake nerves can't hold the signal that the brain will send through the body."

"It should," Dr Miller responded defensively. "I took that into account. I took everything into account."

"Yet it doesn't work because you people have found something new recently. I presume Strocker showed you magic." Silk said. "You don't understand what strain magic puts through the body and those nerves aren't even built for the unique magic that brain holds. The nerves will burn in pain from the hostile element, otherwise this would be genius."

"Could that be fixed if we grew a new organic system out of the brain?" Dr Tanner asked.

"I don't know." Silk turned. "Dr Grey, I need to see the data."

The sighed heavily. "If you can make any sense out of this data be my guest." He lugged his large body away from the computer.

Silk strode up to it looking at the numbers. They fluctuated wildly between test, showing the stability of the energy within the android wasn't great. The stress on the metal shell seemed to be high when working at maximum capacity.

"This android won't last long," Silk said. "When activated it has about three hours before it collapses and dies."

Silk looked more closely on the information in the brain. This android was a medical unit, or that was the information that had been forced into it. A complete history of medicine but when Silk looked more closely this android was a surgeon unit. A unit to upgrade the inhabitants.

"How do you get information into the brain?" Silk asked trying to stay calm.

"We interface," Dr Grey responded. "With this headgear. It streams useful information into the unit and instils it."

"Could I try?" Silk asked. His palms were beginning to sweat. "My magic information will mean it won't make the same mistakes you did on its organic system."

"You make a decent argument." Dr Grey said, "just make it quick."

Dr Strocker opened the door, his eyes widened in horror. "Don't let him put it on," he shouted.

Silk pulled it down quickly.

Silk appeared somewhere all too familiar. The space was darker than before but it felt the same. This was Filum's mind.

Silk looked up and a throne appeared, on top the throne was someone who looked like Silk but older. At his side was a cloud of thought with no form.

"This is where you went." Silk spat out in disgust. "How'd you manage this?"

Filum looked down at Silk smiling righteously. "Don't be like that. We used to be so very close. I even left you with some of my power, be grateful."

"You can't do this. Your fiddling with the timeline too much."

Filum raised an eyebrow. "Or was this always supposed to happen. If so not letting myself be upgraded would be a crime against time."

"It was Strocker wasn't it, he made a deal with you." Silk smiled, "Your new upgraded body won't last three hours without breaking."

Filum sighed, "Do you think I would let myself die so easily. I have a plan."

"You always have a plan," Silk said angry. "The great planner of the demonic army is going to become scrap metal. What would your Emperor say to that?"

"Silk, do you really not understand. You're not that slow, are you? Think."

"You know what, I have a plan and its about time I put mine into action." Silk rushed forward and readied a punch.

Filum looked surprised but understanding returned to his face quickly. It was too late, Silk had taken the cloud of thought. The cloud was the original owner of the brain before Filum had taken residence.

Silk left before Filum could do anything in retaliation.

Silk yanked off the headgear and held out his hands in the direction of his clothes. Strocker dropped them in surprise as they unthread themselves and travelled towards Silk. The doctors stood dumbfounded as they wrapped around Silk as the three colours rethreaded themselves back into a suit and not the modern clothes Silk had been using for fighting.

He yanked the headgear from the port connecting from the brain apparatus and into the computer.

"Get him!" Strocker shouted.

The Doctors responded quickly and their animalistic traits such as Dr Tanner's scales grew more obvious overtaking her body.

Silk connected the pen into the computer.

A red alarm started whaling all over the hospital. Fear appeared in all the doctors' eyes but they continued their attack.

Silk Grabbed the computer which was the size of a tennis ball and stuffed it and the things connected into his pocket while dropping to his knees and rolling to the right.

Scrambling to his feet he charged at Strocker. Strocker made a lunge with the rapier. Silk tried to dodge put the rapier had gone through a portal and impaled his side. Or it would have if not for a failsafe that Bronze put in all her weapons. When used on anyone bearing one of the keys to the workshop it would shatter.

Silk stopped moving. When he was right next to the brain. Everyone was moving in slow motion except Strocker who was steadily speeding up.

"Silk, you never stop having tricks up your sleeve." Strocker said annoyed.

Silk smiled. "For my next trick," he said picking up the machine producing the stasis bubble around the brain. "I'll be brilliant." He pressed a few buttons on it and hoped. The light on the right started flashing from green to red. It was an old trick he had learnt in the demonic war.

Silk ran out the room behind him the bubble expanded engulfing the room and some o the outside. The bubble would steadily recede from now but he had bought himself fifteen minutes or so.

The building shook. Silk ran to a window to see the building surrounded by beings of all shapes and sizes but Silk knew these being from myths and some face to face knowledge. They were the immortals and they were attacking the hospital.

Silk sighed. Things had got a whole lot harder. He had to stop the android inside, the immortals outside and save the people in the hospital. He didn't have Crusher or Phoenix for support and all the other sides had plenty of players. Wait, the people in the hospital had all fought so they might be useful, a glimmer of hope appeared in Silk's eyes.

He rushed to the elevator and got in and pressed for the ground floor where all the action would be.
