42 XUE LIN'S ADVICE

Sakura stole a glance at Alex who was drinking his soup without looking at her.

Her heart tightened up. She looked away quickly and kept a straight expression.

"Exam. I was studying. I need to prepare for my upcoming exam."

Mateo was satisfied with her answer.

"It feels great when two troublemakers in the house being so good," he commented.

"It also makes me suspicious," he murmured.

That day, during class, Sakura couldn't concentrate on her lessons.

After the tutor went away, Xue Lin sat beside her. 

"What's with you today?" she asked. "You look depressed and distracted. Aren't you looking forward to your makeup lessons?"

"Lin, I don't need makeup lessons anymore," Sakura said with a downcast expression.

After that, she told her what happened yesterday.

Xue Lin wasn't expecting that twist. Even so, she stayed quiet and listened to everything Sakura had to say.
