After Mateo left, there was an awkward silence in the living room. 

To ease the atmosphere, he asked, "Are you scared?"

It was true that Mateo's nagging or scolding scared the hell out of Sakura most of the time. 

However, after listening to tonight's conversation, she realized that the headstrong, nagging Mateo cared for her.

She shook her head. "…Not scared."

Rather, she was conscious of Alex. 

The touch of his forehead made her heart flutter. Her stomach felt weird. 

This emotion was unknown to her. She couldn't name it.

Alex stared at the girl who didn't look at him even once in a while. Then, he reached out and stroked her head.

He softly said, "Don't mind him. He's always like this."

His gentle touch softened her heart. "I won't."

Since her hair was short, she could feel the warmth of his palm even more. Her blood began to boil.
