5 Chapter 3

Astrid Pov.

"What made you want to write a song about me?" I ask curious.

He looks at me for awhile but I couldn't tell you how long exactly because I got lost in his eyes.

"I honestly can't tell you yet, I just have a feeling you know?" He says.

I smile and nod.

"Wanna go get lunch?" He asks.

"Sur-, wait Lunch?" I ask grabbing my phone.

"Shit." I say looking at the time.

I start to dial Nicks number and give him a call.

*Ring*

Jace goes back to writing while I walk around pacing.

"Hello?" Nick says after he picks up.

"Why don't you sound worried I never told you were I am?" I ask frustrated at his lack of care.

"Oh Jace called me and told me you were with him." Nick says. I turn around and look at Jaces back I can't help but bight my lip.

"Astrid?" Nick says. I don't answer.

"Do I need to come pick you up?" Nick asks making me regain focus.

"No I'm good. Bye" I say hanging up.

"Yea let's go." I say getting Jaces attention.

After eating.

"So I know it's short-Notice but there is a wine tasting that I was invited to, and I have a plus one, would you like to go tonight?" I ask Jace who is sitting at the other side of the table.

"We'll I've never been a fan of wine." Jace says, I look down, the feeling of rejection starts to brew.

"But, if it's with you I'm down for anything." Jace says brighting my mood.

"It's at 6 tonight." I say smiling.

"Can you drop me off at Nicks so I can get ready?" I ask.

Jace wipes his beard off before answering.

"Of course." Jace once again places money on the table not even asking if I can pay.

I can't help but smile at the warm felling that follows the way he treats me.

He stands up, and places his hand toward me, I take his hand and he helps me up, he locks arms with me and we walk out to his truck.

...

"I'll be here at 5 to pick you up." Jace says opening the door for me.

"Ok, make sure you dress up." I say as he helps me out of his truck.

"Yes ma'am." He says setting me on the ground.

"Bye." I say turning around and walking away.

I pause missing the feeling of his presence already, I turn on my heels and walk back to him giving him a kiss on the cheek.

Then rushing inside Nick and Rachel's Building.

Once inside Nicks apartment.

"Do we need to have talk young lady?" Nick asks with a smirk.

I grab a shoe that was on the ground and throw it at him.

I walk into the spare room that they are letting me stay in and start to look for some clothes I can wear tonight.

I find a set of clothes that I think go well together, so I put them on and start to do my hair and makeup.

4:50 pm.

*Knock*

I walk out of my room to see Rachel opening the door and letting Jace in.

As he steps inside he takes his hat off, his eyes roam the room until he meets mine.

He eyes me up and down before walking toward me.

"Hello there gorgeous." He says walking up to me and grabbing my hand and spinning me around.

"Ready?" He asked, I just nod not able to speak at the moment.

"Bye Rachel tell Nick I said hi." Jace says while locking my arm with his and starting to walk out of the room.

At the winery.

"Alright ladies and gentlemen the first Wine we will be tasting today is 1774 Vercel "Vin Jaune d'Arbois" one of the oldest wines we have in stock." The server says before pouring Jace and I's cup. We are one of only two couples here, so it's pretty empty I mean the only reason I am here is because of who I am.

As soon as Jace's drink is poured he lifts it up and says.

"Cheers!" And drinks the whole thing.

Before anyone could stop him.

"Whew that's good." He says. He looks around with a confused look at everyone who is staring at him.

"What did I do?" He asks and I start to laugh.

"Your not supposed to drink the wine." I say under my laughter.

"Seriously?" He asked dumbfounded.

Everyone nods.

"So your telling me we have all this alcohol and no ones drinking?"

Everyone nods again.

"Hell, where Im from tasting involves drinking I mean where's the fun if you don't get a little buzzed." He says out loud.

Over the next couple of week my life started to quickly change, Jace was now a everyday thing for me we always went out and did things together or we just stayed at his place, over time I have started to feel things for Jace that I have never felt before.

But all things must come to an end.

Jace POV.

I am awoken with a jolt as I feel Astrid jump out of bed and run to the bathroom, I get up and follow her I see her face first in the toilet throwing up.

I walk behind her and move her hair behind her.

"You ok?" I ask.

"Do I look ok?" She says.

"Yea sorry dumb question." I say rubbing her back.

"Just give me a second." She says.

After a couple of minutes we both sit on the bathroom floor looking at each other.

"I think it's just nerves, I don't think I'm ready for you to go." Astrid says looking down, my heart just starts to hurt looking at her like this.

I scoot to her side lift her into my lap.

I don't say anything for awhile all I do is hold her.

"I'll be back, I don't think I could live without you anymore. So just wait for me alright?" She doesn't do anything but I hear her start to cry.

"Baby, I have to get ready. My flight leaves soon." Without a word she gets up and walks into the other room.

"Shit." I mumble to myself.

I get up as-well and walk to my military bag and grab my off base uniform and start to put it on.

We walk outside the hotel and see Rachel and Nick standing outside there Car.

We all get in the car not saying a word I close my eyes.

I feel someone grab my hand I look over and see Astrid holding my hand but she's not looking toward me.

I squeeze her hand and look out the window.

...

At the airport.

"Don't be gone to long." Rachel says giving me a hug.

I turn to Nick as he gives me a brotherly hug.

"Give em hell." He says.

"Always." I say back.

I look to my right and see Astrid looking at me with tears about to spill.

I walk to her and give her a deep hug.

"Don't cry, I'll never let you go." Her tears start to fall.

"Don't leave me here alone." She said making my heart ache.

"Never."

I kiss her on the top of her head before I pull away and start to walk toward the terminal.

I feel someone grab my hand so I turn around.

"Jace Morgan, I love you." Without thinking I lean down and kiss her. Pulling away.

"I love you to Astrid." I say knowing full well this is the first time we have said that to each other.

I squeeze her hand one more time before I start to walk away.

Astrid POV.

At the hospital two weeks later.

"So why are you here?" The doctor asks?

I look over at Rachel who forced me to come.

"Well, I've been throwing up a lot recently and I'm late." I say, having no clue what could be wrong.

"How late?" She asks.

"Two weeks." I say and she starts to smile.

"I believe I may no what's going on but I will run some test first." She says stepping out of the room.

I look at my phone and see the time hoping I won't miss the time when Jace can call.

"It's probably nothing." I say looking at Rachel.

30 minutes later.

*Knock*

The doctor walks in with a smile on her face.

"Your Pregnant."

The words stay in my brain for awhile until I feel Rachel walk over and give me a hug.

"Congratulations." She says as I put my hand on my stomach.

Then Jaces killer smirk pops into my mind.

After the appointment.

*Ring*

I look down at my phone in Rachel's car and see Jace calling me.

I hesitate then pick up.

"Hey beautiful." I hear him say.

"H-Hey." I say back still a little shocked.

"You okay?" He asks, somehow always able to tell when somethings wrong.

"J-Jace I'm-" before I could finish I start to hear yelling and Explosions in the back ground.

"JACE!" I scream into the phone.
