What to buy

The first lessons were nice. I did not expect more than exams and checking what we received from the last one.

As I kept looking into my papers. I could only shake my head.

I did well, but now how I wanted. Only one I wrote for a perfect score.

Remaining two, I missed the first point and the second three. No idea how I made a such stupid mistake there.

As I keep having this on my mind, lunch break comes. Knowing it, I smiled, and after walking close to the classroom, I sat there and started eating my lunch.

While I keep doing it, the speakers say, "Jack Smith, please come to the headmaster's office."

Seeing that I only did half of my lunch, I could shake my head. I can spend a minute or rest during lunch break.

As it once again repeated, I packed everything and went there.

When I knocked, the headmaster said, "Please come in."

Hearing it, I came inside, and he said, "Smith."

"Yes," I said.

"You will represent the school in a maths competition. With Evans."

"Wait. I was never called for something like that," I said. From the beginning, I could go here. Only teachers do not want me to be part of this.

Even if I have a perfect score. As I looked at the headmaster, he asked, "Are you going or not?"

"Yes. I will go. When will it be?"

"Two days. Here is all that will be there," he said while passing a few papers to me.

Seeing them, I checked what they have. I could see what we do not have during lessons. I know them well and Paula keeps asking me how to do them.

"You will do well there."

"Yes. I will," I said shortly. Hearing me, the headmaster nodded and said, "Second. I will need your address."

"For."

"To know where you are staying," he said. Hearing it, I nodded, and as I looked at him, I said it. After hearing me, the headmaster looked into my eyes.

"You truly live there."

"Yes. I won the lottery. So I bought a place there thanks to a person I know," I said.

"From my knowledge, only Williams had a place free there," the headmaster looked into my eyes.

"I am paying monthly. Long story short, I helped one person who knows someone who knows someone, and I could buy a home there. Good, that I won a lot so I could do this," I started making lies. I do not want to say that dad bought it for me.

Hearing me, the headmaster nodded and said, "Ok. We will put it there. Only one person won this from our school in recent years."

"Oh," I said. Hearing me, the headmaster smiled and said, "Megan Williams. You might be second. We mostly come as third. Now we have chances to be first and second."

"Got it. I will try my best."

"Good luck," he said. Hearing it, I nodded, and after coming out, I will need to learn about this. As I looked at the papers, I texted Megan, 'do you remember the maths competition from school? Where were you first?'

'Yes,' she answered almost immediately.

'Can you make some questions for me to train?'

'Got it. I will do it today,' she answered. Seeing it, I hid the phone in my pocket, and after coming back to where I was before going to the headmaster's office, I sat and went back to eating.

While I keep doing it, I keep checking what he passed to me.

When I kept doing it, I could hear Paula's voice. "Jack, what do you have there?"

"Oh this," I said while showing it all to her. Seeing it, she said, "So my hopes for first place go into the bin."

"Oh, come on. I can always make a mistake."

"You in maths. Unreal," Paula said while looking into my eyes. Seeing it, I nodded, and when Lucy and Emily came closer to Paula, she said, "We will need to pass on today's shopping."

"No girl. You go. We need to prepare for our celebration," Lucy said.

"Right. You can once skip learning day," Emily added.

"Oh, I will be second," Paula said.

"Who will dethrone you? Nobody. You are the smartest who is coming there," Lucy said. I could see Emily looking at me.

Seeing it, Paula said, "Jack is going too. So."

"Oh, come on, he will not be first, right?" Emily said while looking into my eyes. Seeing it, I smiled, and when Paula grabbed Emily's hand, she said, "Let's pass this."

"No. We will go. No talking," Emily said. Seeing that she keeps looking at me, I know I am screwed.

Knowing it, the bell rang. Hearing it, I smiled, and lessons once again began.

As we keep having them, I keep looking at Paula. I need to talk to her.

I had no chance to do it when we had lessons and between. When I finally came out after the last lesson, I checked my phone.

'I can't,' she wrote.

Seeing it, I sent back 'ok. So see you tomorrow.'

When I did this, I changed and came out. While looking around, I did not know what I could do not. As I still have some time to do.

While seeing everyone driving away. Some reckless, some peaceful. I shook my head.

Why do they need to be so annoying?

Seeing it, I smiled, and as I kept walking to the bus stop, I took the phone and called JJ. I could see him in the car.

When he answered, I said, "I will leave all the stuff in my place. I will tell you all later."

"Ok," JJ said, and I could see him driving away. Seeing it, I smiled, and not long after, the bus came. Seeing it, I started my drive back home.

After coming there, I left everything and went back to my car. While there, I looked at him and said, "To where Megan is."

"You need to call and ask her if you can come."

"Oh, right. I will do this now," I said. Hearing me, JJ nodded, and I called Megan. When she answered, I said, "hi. Can I come in? I have a few questions for you."

"Ok. I will let my assistant know this."

"Thanks," I said and hung out. After doing it, I said, "We can go."

"Ok."

Hearing his words, I looked at the phone. I will need to ask Megan about this competition and what to buy for gifts. I will need to do this soon.

After coming close to the building, I put a mask on and started looking for sunglasses. While doing it, JJ throws them at me.

Seeing them, I put on a hoodie too.

While being like that, not long after, JJ parked. Seeing it, I smiled, and after coming out, I walked to the elevator. Good, that has a card, and after coming in, I drove to the top floor.

After coming out, I looked around. I could see that nobody had changed here. Seeing it, I nodded and strolled to Megan's office.

After sitting, I could see prepared tea and cookies.

Seeing them, I checked if the doors were closed, took off my mask, and started drinking tea. While doing it, I started looking for what I could buy for JJ.

While I kept doing it, the doors opened. Seeing them, I moved the mask on.

"It is me."

"Ok," I said while taking it off. When I looked at Megan, she smiled and said, "Why did you come?"

"Oh, a few questions."

"So ask," she said while sitting on my side. Seeing Megan smile, I smiled too and asked, "About competition."

"Oh so," she said while clearing her throat. Seeing it, I smiled, and she started telling me all.

While I kept listening to her, she was done. Hearing it, I nodded. I found a few interesting things about all of them.

When I looked at her, I smiled and asked about my grandparents. My question at first took her out of her mood. Her facial expression changed.

Seeing it, I explained why. Hearing it, Megan nodded and told me all about what I can buy for them.

After doing it, I talked about mom and dad. For them, it will be easier. Knowing it, I smiled, and as we talked for some time with Megan, I did it.

She needs to come back to work. Knowing it, I smiled and came out. After being back in the car, I looked at JJ and said, "We can go now."

"Where?"

"Training," I said. Hearing me, JJ nodded, and we started driving there. I keep checking on the net what Megan had told me. I will need to make a moral decision about what I will buy.

As I keep going all over the net, I found what I can buy for Grandma Williams and Grandpa Cole. Knowing it, I will need to look more at what I can for the other two.

This I will do after training. As JJ stopped in front of a building.

Seeing it, I smiled and walked out. When I changed, I went to the gym, and everything began.

I need to be focused fully on this all. JJ is trying to hold when we have our sparring, but sometimes he can punch hard. As we keep doing it, we have done it.

Now I will need to come back home and learn. Maybe Megan sends me what she created.

Thinking about this, I had a shower, and after coming out, I changed and came out. Seeing one person there surprised me.
