Never come back

"You can go out," the doctor said while looking at me.

Three months spent in the hospital fully changed me after the accident that had happened.

I spent a month unconscious, and two, I could not go out.

During this time, I found out that I was adopted. After mom and dad lost their son. Now as they found him, I became alone.

Life sometimes can be a joke.

As I looked at the doctor, I said, "Thank you. How much do I need to pay for being here?"

"Your family had paid," the doctor said while looking into eyes.

His words surprised me.

Did they pay for me to be here?

As I looked at him, I said, "What?"

"Your family," the doctor said, and when I looked at him, I nodded while a small smile showed up on my face. They come back for me. Therefore, I am not alone.

As I looked at the doctor, I nodded and then, walked slowly outside. While there, only BMW is outside. Not our Renault.

For the first time, I could see this car. As I looked at it, I turned and then looked for my family.

I could see them all.

Car doors opened, and a young girl in her early twenties looked at me, and then she asked, "Jack Smith."

"Yes. Who are you?" I asked.

After she heard my words, she jumped closer and then hugged me while saying, "my lost brother."

"Wait what?" I asked, and when she looked into my eyes, she added, "I will tell you the entire story soon."

"Ok," I said. She sat inside the car and then said, "Joanna."

"What?" I asked, and when she looked at me, she smiled and then said, "That is my name."

"Oh, ok" only escaped from my mouth. I am still in shock. I could not process what the woman had said.

My sister.

What does she mean by this? When I looked at her, she pointed to the passenger seat. Seeing it, I walked to the side as I looked at her and then said, "Might I know some proof of what you are saying?"

"Oh, come one. What can I do to you?"

"Many things. My organs," I said as the first shock disappeared. Now I need to think clearly.

Many things might happen if I follow her.

Therefore, after a quick decision, I looked at her, and then she said, "Brother. As I am the youngest of the sisters, I wished, to have a younger brother. Come on."

"Sorry. Thank you for paying my bills. I need to go now," I only said, as she probably paid for this. She might invest in me.

Paying bills for me, and then taking my organs.

I know that she might have taken over five times for the organs that she paid for. As I looked at her, I walked away.

I wanted to disappear as fast as possible. CCTV is here, so she might not act immediately.

Disappearing from here becomes my priority.

After a quick turn, she keeps looking at me. Maybe she is thinking about something else. I could not walk faster, so I hummed, "life can be cruel. Now I need to go back to school somehow."

After coming to the bus stop, I had no money with me. I could see that it was coming. I sat inside. Praying that I can go there without a ticket. I know that this is illegal. Still, I wanted to check on my family.

Travelling to the bus stop took me half an hour. After coming out, I looked at my neighbourhood. Then I started walking back home.

I could hear talks there. I could not recognise one voice. So maybe dad said that they found their lost child, and I do not need to.

"I am home," I said while ringing doors. When they opened, dad looked at me and then said, "You aren't our son. Go away."

"Wait," I said, but the doors, then slammed in front of me.

His words are harsh. He never talked to me like that.

I could hear laughs coming from inside.

"Why?" I said while looking at the doors, and then I started ringing. Finally, once again they opened, and I said, "Might I take all my things?"

"Go. You have ten minutes," dad said.

"Ok," I said, and then I walked to his bedroom.

I loved this room. From my younger years, I spend my days here. As I looked around, I found my backpack. School started a month ago.

Maybe I will go there with no problems. As I looked around the shelves, I packed the most important books.

After having them, I took the charger and laptop, which were a gift two years ago. I might use it after receiving it.

Still, I like it. I might somehow survive.

After zipping it, I looked around. When I took my old backpack, I packed underwear and some clothes. I did not pack too many. Still, it should be enough for a few days.

After having it all, I took all my savings and then walked out.

"Where are you going?" mom's voice came. When I looked at her, I said, "mom."

"Show me what you have here," she said, and when I had shown her all. She looked at it and then said, "Good. Go. Never show yourselves here."

"Ok," I said somehow. First time she said something like that to me. I know i can't come back here. So I walked out.

Last time I looked at home.

Almost eighteen years I spend here. Once again, I walked to the bus stop. After sitting, I started thinking about where I could go.

I made no friends at school.

As a quiet and not rich person, I was like air. Sometimes I only needed to help with homework. More likely to let them copy it by forcing it all on me.

"Life can be brutal," I mumbled. Then I started thinking about where I can spend time now.

Grandparents are in different cities. Therefore, I cannot go there.

No money and I have school. I need to get there as fast as possible. Ending it becomes my top priority to being accepted there.

Library. This is the only place which I can think about now.

As I looked at the bus, I went into it, and once again, I drove without a ticket.

The trip there took me shorter, and then I went out. As I looked around, I could see in front of it the same BMW which was in front of the hospital.

When the girl came out, she looked at me and then said, "So now. Maybe you will listen to me."

"What you want. My organs?" I said, while passing close to her. When she grabbed my shoulder, she said, "no. You are my brother."

"So what? I have no family now," I said, and then I broke. I could not hold it anymore.

Tears started running from my eyes. As I slowly started losing good view, she hugged me and then said, "we might do a test. Are you ok with this?"

"So what I will have from this? You will probably leave me," I said.

These words broke her, and when she hugged me, she said, "don't worry. We will be an excellent family. For now, you will stay in my place."

"But," I said, as now I lost it all. My mind has not worked properly.

I just do not want to live. If she wants to kill me and take my organs, she might take them. At this moment, I did not know what was happening.

What life will show me now?

Nothing more shit will happen anymore.

I did not know what was happening, and she said, "We will live together. I have a nice flat for us. It might be small. We can live there."

"I need to have proof," I said, and when she said nothing. I suspected that this might happen. She is lying to me.

As I wanted to turn and go away, she grabbed my shoulder thinner, and said, "Ok. Let's go."

"Ok," I said. I had nothing to lose now. Today's blows were too hard for me. After sitting inside, she drove to the hospital.

"Come after me," Joanna said, after parking. When I nodded, I cleaned my face, and somehow, I could see I nodded, and then I followed her. After they came to the doctor's office, she said, "DNA tests."

"Oh, here," the doctor said, and when Joanna took it, she showed it to me. After seeing that we are ninety-eight percent siblings, I nodded and then said, "Ok. Now I trust you."

"Miss" doctors started saying, but then Joanna said, "We will go now. Don't inform anyone from your family."

"Ok," the doctor said, and when I looked at her, she smiled and said, "Let's go."

"Ok," I said, and then I followed her. After coming to the car, Joanna looked at me, and then she said, "So we can go."

"Yes," I said shortly.

'Maybe she is my family' went around my head.

I lost one, and now I have a new one.

The car slowly started going to its destination, which I did not know. As we were riding, I looked outside. Today's blows are too hard. I started calming down.

Maybe if I knew this earlier, I could not be so emotionally invested in them. Many things were running around in my head. I could not believe what had happened.

As we were riding, I did not know where we were going. I could see that buildings here started becoming richer.

When Joanna stopped the car, she said, "Ok. We are here."

"Wait. We are," I asked, and when she nodded, we came out. I did not know that we have such buildings in the area.

They looked like new ones. I could see the gate not far away. Maybe is it, a secured one? As I looked around, I could see the name of the street.

"We are here," I asked once again. When Joanna nodded, she smiled and said, "Come. Nobody from my family knows that I own a flat here. Bought by my bestie."

"Ok," I said, as I heard about this street. Sometimes it shows up in talks in school.

"Come after me, little brother," Joanna said, which broke me from my thoughts. As I looked at her, I could only nod, and then I walked after her inside.

While we were there, we went into the elevator, and then she said, "So now. I will need your fingerprints."

"For what?" I asked, while looking at her.

I could feel that soon I might collapse. I have not eaten for a long time.

My energy started going down.

When Joanna looked at me, she smiled and said, "For you going inside. No girls are allowed."

As I could see her moving her finger, I shook my head.

I had no girlfriend.

I am interested in one. This I will not say to her.

When the elevator stopped, we came out, and then she said, "Ok, let's go inside."

"Ok," I said, shortly. My hands started shaking like crazy.

"Oh, you want something to eat or drink?" she asked after opening the doors. Hearing her words, I looked at her and then said, "oh, maybe water."

"Sorry I don't have it. Coke can be. If not, I have here only beer," she said while smiling.

"So coke," I said, and when she nodded, I put bags on the floor and looked around. I did not know that when she said small place, it will be so huge.

The living room here is twice as big as the one I had at home.

Looking around, I could see probably 60 or more TVs. Seeing it, I sat on the couch, and then I could hear, "here you have."

"Thanks," I said, after grabbing a glass, and when I drank it, I looked at her.

"I know I am beautiful," Joanna said. After hearing her words, I said, "So tell me how."

"What now?" she asked.

"How you found I am your brother," I said, and when she opened the beer and sat, she looked at me better. Seeing it, I drank a little, and then she added, "I will tell you soon. First, what we will have for dinner?"

"Oh choose," I said, and when she smiled, she said, "so pizza. I hope you like it."

"Yes," I said, and when she nodded, she took her phone, and then started looking at it, while the second hand was on the controller, changing channels. As she was doing it, she said, "ok. Ordered."

"How much do I need to add?" I asked. I had some savings.

Living here. Food, and other things, I should help her financially.

After hearing my words, she said, "no, Jack. You will not help me. Tomorrow I will give you a card."

"I don't need to. I have one," I said while taking my wallet out. When Joanna heard me, she said, "Blocked. No money on it."

"Fuck. I have some cash. I will give it to you. For letting me stay," I said, and when she moved onto the couch, she said, "no. I do not want any money from you. Keep it."

"But," I started saying, then her finger landed on my lips, and she said, "don't worry. I have some cash, and I will give it to you now. Tomorrow you will have your card."

"Ok," I said, as I could not believe her words. If she gives me a card, I do not know what I will have on it. I might start looking for a part-time job somewhere. If I stay here for some time, I need her financially.

"Oh no. If we had done this. Let's watch," Joanna said.

When I looked at her, I nodded, and then I looked at the TV. As I kept watching, time passed nicely, and when her phone rang, she answered and said, "Ok. I will be there soon."

After hanging out, she said, "I will be back soon. After eating, I will show you your room."

"Ok," I said, and when she smiled, she walked out. When I saw this, I got up, and when I crawled into the bag, I took my laptop out.

Having it in my hand, I sat, and when I started it, I remembered that I have no internet connection. I never owned a phone. Therefore, I cannot check anything. As I looked at the starting laptop, I checked what I had there.

As I keep cleaning the pulpit, from last semester's stuff. Joanna came, and when she looked at me, she said, "Put it on the side. We will eat."

"Ok," I said, and when I put my laptop on the side, she sat, and then we started eating. While seeing that the pizza was nice, I grabbed one slice, and then took a bite. After breakfast, I touched no food today.

"You like it?" Joanna asked. Hearing her words, I could only nod, and when she smiled, we continued eating with the TV on in the background.

After ending one slice, I looked at her. Maybe I can grab it, or not. As she looked at me, she said, "Eat. Don't worry."

"Ok," I said, shortly, and then I ate two more slices. When I had done this, Joanna said, "full."

"Yes," I said, while holding the bottle in my hand. I took a small sip, and then she asked, "Ok. As we are here, I will show you your room."

"Ok," I said, shortly. When I got up and took my backpack, Joanna said, "Follow me. You will stay in one room."

When I nodded, she smiled, and then I followed her. I keep looking around. Maybe I confirmed us being siblings based on a DNA test, but still, I did not believe her fully. When we came to the room, she said, "Here will be you. I will buy a few things for you tomorrow."

Hearing her, I nodded, and when she opened the doors, I could see the bed, and nothing more there. Seeing it, I said, "It is enough for me. Thank you."

"Oh no. You need to do your homework somewhere. I only bought a bed for now," she said while smiling.

"Thank you," I said, and when I looked around, I took books from my backpack. She keeps looking at me.

Seeing it, I asked, "Might I know the Wi-Fi password?"

"Oh right," she said, and when I started the laptop once again, she put it there. When she did this, she said, "Give me your phone. I will put it there."

"I don't own any," I said.

When my words came out, she looked at me. I could see that her eyes almost popped out.

"What" finally she said.

"I don't have one," I said, shortly.

"Tomorrow, after school, we will buy you a new one. I don't have any spare here."

"Ok," I said, and as she smiled, she walked away. Seeing it, I logged into my student profile. Seeing what I will have tomorrow, I checked the books, which I grabbed.

Good, that I bought it earlier in the third year. Therefore, I could check what I will have tomorrow.

As I kept reading, I realised what I had done, and then I forgot to ask her about something. Where is the bathroom? When I came out, I said, "Joanna."

"Yes," she said while coming out from one room. When she looked at me, she asked, "You need me for something? Little brother."

"Oh bathroom," I said.

"Oh. I forgot about this," she said while making a dramatic face. Seeing it, I could only smile, and then she said, "come. I will show you."

"Thanks," I said, and when she shows me the doors, which from my bedroom were like two meters away, she said, "here. Your own."

"Thanks," I said, and when she nodded, I went to check what was there. As I could see that she bought a toothbrush, and another, which I will need, I looked around.

Shower. Toilet and sink. Nothing else.

"Time for a shower," I hummed, and then I went back to the bedroom. When I grabbed the clothes in which I will sleep, I went back to the bathroom and then took a refreshing shower. No idea how long I spent there, but I finally felt refreshed.

Looking around, I took a towel, and when I dried my body and hair, I looked finally into the mirror. I lost some weight. Maybe I should gain once again some kilograms. With this thought, I did my routine, and then I came back to the bedroom.

As I opened a little window, I checked once again at what hour I had lessons. Seeing it, I looked at my watch, and when I set the alarm for six, I fell asleep not long after.
