1 Chapter 1, part 1: "Killer Night".

It's a calm night with a clear, star-filled sky. Just like that time...

The government. So corrupt... But in his rot, really well organized for what he needs and/or cares about. I've never had an easy childhood. My family has tried to do their best, to make me happy and, on the other hand, my grandfather did everything to make me strong, even at the cost of that happiness... And, despite a comfortable life, I've never been able to get what I missed... Friends. I have overcome years and years of bullying, I've been through a lot, due my way of being and for... What I am, but despite everything, I have always missed, that support, at the same time foreign and familiar, that friendship gives, since I was a child ... Then came my 11 years. September 13th, entrance to school... And they were there... He was there.

When I was a baby, I was separated from my brother and, that day, when I saw him there, with that man who dared to call himself his father, my heart began to beat so hard that it seemed to want to get out of my chest, both for the anger I was feeling, and for the joy of seeing again the one who was and always will be a part of me... My prince, my little one. As soon as that man left, leaving us with the professors, I started running, as fast as I could and hugged him hard. I saw a smile appearing on his face, a radiant smile that I hadn't seen in five years. I shook it to myself, as if you feared losing him again. We lectured and, at the sound of recreation, he took me to the courtyard with him.

-"Der! Hey!" - I heard him say, addressed to a boy our age.

I only knew him by sight and what stuck in my mind was his eyes. Purple as two amethysts, who seemed to look deep in your soul.

Derek approached us, with a girl quite similar to him. She had long wavy, almost curly, hair of a black so deep that she looked surreal, her skin as clear and clean as milk and blue eyes, deep as the sea and, at the same time, cold and intense like two sapphires. "She is beautiful", I thought. She looked at me and smiled, slightly mischievous, then Derek spoke.

-"She's my cousin, Rebecca. She came to live with me after... The death of my uncle and aunt... We grew up together and we are very close," he said, with a sweet, melancholy smile. It had to hurt him a lot, talk about them...

-"Yeah yeah, okay. Let's not get depressed, shall we?" she said, before laughing. She had a contagious laugh, so I started giggling too. Dylan took the floor and smiled, saying "She's Kira. My sister"

I smiled instinctively, to the words "my sister" and looked at the two cousins, responding with a "pleasure to know you".

The days passed and we befriended other guys too, we formed our own group... We were so happy... I also had a boyfriend... His name was Philip... Or Phil, for his friends.

A year passed and, a few days after we entered school, on my way home, I saw a car, unknown to me, parked in front of the house. Men brought three suitcases near it, and then loaded them. I didn't understand... I went home and saw my father crying, clenched to my uncle, so I ran to him.

-"Dad? Dad, what's going on? Why are those men carrying suitcases in that car? Do we have to leave? Dad, please answer me!" - I told him, as I felt the tears go up and my eyes pinched.

My grandfather came up to me, before my father could say anything. He stood, stoic and cold, looking down on me.

-"Your father and uncles will stay here, you will go away, with them"- he beckoned to the men, dressed in black, who were waiting for me

-"No no no no! I don't want to leave! I don't want to! Please, grandfather, no! I'll be good, I'll study, I'll do whatever you want, but don't send me away, please!" - I begged him, through the tears, but nothing convinced him. Dad tried to stop me from being taken away, but nothing worked. He dragged me away, to that dark-glazed machine, those complete strangers and a fate to me unknown. I got in the car, totally against my will, and traveled for what seemed like an eternity, to me. We got to an airport and they got me on a jet, which took us to some kind of base, in the middle of nowhere. I had just found my brother, the same one that our own grandpa took from me and now it was me, the one who had to leave...
