Preparation For a Fight

Alice gave an embarrassed smile, "It looks like we weren't the only ones not listening. I fell in love at first sight with this idiot."

Feno also gave a sad sigh, "Unfortunately as soon as I fell into her grasp I couldn't escape."

"HEY!" Alice punched his shoulder.

Watching the pair laugh and joke Allen was really sure that they were probably meant to be. "I didn't mean that. I heard all that, but why did you go from meeting directly to marriage? I mean you could have dated instead right?"

"Dated? What do you mean?"

Remembering that there were people coming from different worlds, Allen quickly explained himself, "You see where I come from there is a time when a couple is in a relationship but with less formality and it is supposed to be a time when the pair decides whether they truly want to spend the rest of their lives together."

"Like engagement right?"

"Think of it as a relationship between engagement and fling."

"What kind of country have such strange concepts?"

Allen soon found he was explaining something that was too foreign for the pair only an engagement being something between children when they aren't ready for marriage and marriage that a full grown man and woman do when they arrive at the right age. After nearly half an hour going back and forth trying to see each other's perspective on relationships, Allen gave up and decided to leave the couple for the night.

Soon after arriving back at the camp, it was already dark. Allen didn't wait and after eating his food he quickly opened the Trade channel and checked everything. The one bear alone brought 40,000 units of food. Allen almost couldn't wait to kill more bears as he saw everything seemed to be more affordable even as elemental stones were at their all-time high.

[1 Plant Stone (material) -> 2,000 Food]

[1 Fire Stone (material) -> 3,000 Food]

[1 Wind Stone (material) -> 2,000 Food]

[1 Darkness Stone (material) -> 3,002 Food]

[1 Life Stone (material) -> 4,000 Food]

[1 Light Stone (material) -> 3,001 Food]

Knowing that prices would likely rise, he didn't hesitate to buy two of each of the cheapest stones he saw. The plant stones and wind stones. Having so much food on hand Allen didn't even hesitate to buy the darkness stone and light stone since they sounded the most interesting. Soon he found himself looking at the summoning circles again.

[Human Summoning Circle Crystal -> 2,500 Food]

[Light Fox Summoning Circle Crystal -> 2,000 Food]

[Dire Wolf Summoning Circle Crystal -> 3,000 Food]

[Blood Bear Summoning Circle Crystal -> 10,000 Food]

[Zombie Summoning Circle Crystal ->1,500 Food]

[Fire Canary Summoning Circle Crystal -> 1,500 Food]

Allen didn't hesitate and bought another Human summoning circle along with another Dire Wolf summoning circle. It was only after spending 19,500 units of food did Allen feel a tinge of buyer's regret. Still, he knew he would get another 40,000 units of food tomorrow at least so long as he killed another bear.

After much hesitation, Allen decided to save only 10,000 units of food for an emergency or just to get the materials for summoning. The 13,500 units he had left were spent on, two fire stones for fire mages, three earth stones for the wooden house and to get stone mages. (Earth Stone -> 2,500 Food)

After throwing everything else into the Warehouse for tomorrow, the day finally came to a close as the quiet consumed the day into the darkness of night...

In the morning Allen made sure everyone stayed in the camp because his cooldown would end in two hours. During this time Allen started checking what the stones would do to various summoning circles. As well as upgrading the basic wooden house to a stone house with one of the earth stones, and placing summoning circles, and summoning more Dire Wolves and Humans.

[Upgrade (Human Summoning Circle) -> (Human Ember Mage Summoning Circle)]

[Yes] [No]

After upgrading the human summoning circles to get Stone Mages, and Ember Mages, Allen summoned them one after another. After a bright Flash of light, a group of ten appeared. Nodding to them as they greeted him he summoned the other group of humans directly after.

Satisfied, Allen sent them outside and focused on the Dire Wolf Summoning circles. Last time he had upgraded the Dire Wolves, they only gained skills to go fast, with the exception of the Giant Wolves. So this time he decided to save the Plant stones for a possibly better option later, and this time give the wolves what they want and upgrade them with wind stones to make them go fast.

Still, most mages seemed to not have a great attack power, so the wolves are still the main attacking force. With this in mind, Allen decided to use the darkness stone on the wolves. Darkness being associated with damage and light being associated with healing. So for mages without attack, it would be nice for them to heal and join the battle.

As he was on a bit of a time crunch needing to be ready for the next bear attack, Allen didn't hesitate any longer and upgraded a summoning circle.

[Upgrade (Dire Wolf Summoning Circle) -> (Wind Wolf Summoning Circle)]

After another flash of light a group of small wolves appeared in front of him. The wolves all howled before rolling over and showing their stomach as a sign of submission. The Wolves were only about the size of a big dog making them the smallest wolves yet.

Although this was the second time a wolf had moved up to become stronger than just one level up in the 'type' description. Allen had seen the power of the Earth Giants and assumed that it was something special to the 'giant' tag. Seeing it happen again made the situation feel much more shocking.

It was also at this point Allen realized that there were three different types of stones that worked both on Dire Wolves and Forest Wolves. Vitality Stone, Earth Stone, Wind Stone. Despite wanting to think about the situation longer, he knew he had to either summon more wolves immediately or get moving as his cooldown for 'bestow' was about to end. Now with the couple in the middle of the angry bears, he needed to kill as many bears as fast as possible.

After a full minute of hesitation, Allen finally got moving and started organizing who would go on the hunt. After talking with Henry and Orion, Allen decided on; Giant Wolves, Forest Wolves, Wind Wolves, Fire Mages, and Stone Mages.
