19 Distortion

Reading the simulation results, Alexander wasn't happy for his visit in the Origin Castle.

There had been no consequences in the simulation, but Alexander couldn't be sure that the Celestial Worthy of Heaven wouldn't notice him if he was pulled in the Origin Castle in reality.

Although in the original book he was described as 'dead', Alexander guessed that he is most likely in a broken, sleeping state and certain events would awaken him.

No doubt, the Fate Simulator had, at the very least, the personality of a Sequence 0.

The arrival of a Sequence 0 power inside his own home would surely be included in the events that would cause CWoH's awakening.

This meant that he wasn't willing to take that risk, so long as the Fate Simulator didn't give him a power that explicitly stated that he wouldn't be detected.

He didn't trust the Fate Simulator, but he felt that even the existence behind it wouldn't want him dead.

At the same time, him getting pulled up the Origin Castle couldn't be explained simply by the bad luck he was suffering.

In the original book, the way that the original Tarot Club members became members was either by praying, or by coming into contact with items that had been polluted by the aura of the Origin Castle.

Alexander had of course not prayed to Klein, as he didn't know if his prayers would directly reach CWoH.

Coupled with the panic of the Faceless and the fact that he easily suppressed him, Alexander guessed that he most certainly had come in contact with the aura of Origin Castle.

In Alexander's perception, there was only one item that could have caused that.

Having this thought, Alexander reached into his pocket and took out the tiny diary.

He knew that this was the diary of a half-Great Old One existence, but he couldn't guess how it could have been tainted by Origin Castle's aura.

If anything, it should have been tainted by the Chaos Sea's aura like the Blasphemy Slate.

"The simulator gifted it to me as if it was sending out an invitation to become a Tarot Club member."

"If there is truly an existence behind it, he isn't even willing to spend some time to avoid getting discovered."

While Alexander complained, the tiny book, that he arbitrarily named "Origin Diary", could absolutely help him fight against the Beyonders of the Error, Fool and Door pathways.

As for getting pulled up the Origin Castle, as long as he doesn't often come in contact with it and especially during Mondays, he should be safe.

Moreover, he could use it to visit the grey fog once he got any item that could render him undetected.

As for the options, Alexander didn't hesitate to choose the second option.

He obviously already had the aura of the Origin Castle and the Orphan protagonist trait didn't sound as something he would want.

Who knows, maybe it spawns an adopted little sister and a cold looking fiancee for him.

Silver mist appeared and twirled, before condensing into a circular token, with a black crown painted on it.

The silver mist didn't disappear this time, but turned around and formed different words.

[Name: Distortion]

[Abilities:]

[Distort: The holder can distort the target's words, actions, and intent, influencing and restraining their target.]

[Downsides: N/A]

Alexander hadn't expected that the 'Ability' option would be given in the form of an extraordinary item.

Although he guessed that it could not actually be classified as an extraordinary item, and it was more like a scroll, just like the scrolls a Sequence 6 Scrolls Professor could create.

The difference was, that as far as he knew, these scrolls could be used only once while the token in his hand was a permanent ability.

Half an hour later, in a mansion, a young man wearing a red bathrobe was sitting in wooden chair while drinking tea and reading Backlund's newspaper.

Suddenly, the sound of a gunshot sounded behind him.

The young man didn't seem to react, but just when the bullet was about to reach him, he turned into a paper figurine that collapsed.

The young man vanished, before appearing some meters away.

Attempting to locate the enemy before he could react to his teleportation, the young man was shocked to find another bullet firing in his direction.

This time though, he seemed unable to turn into a paper figurine and the bullet successfully pierced through his abdomen.

Although injured, he didn't seem panicked, as he calmly put his left hand over his injury.

Instantly, the wound started fading away.

Realizing that he had to find some cover, he clicked his fingers and teleported to a nearby candlelight, hiding himself behind a bookcase.

Just as he reappeared, he noticed a sharp pain running through his chest.

Looking down, a hole was passing through his chest, with blood continuously flowing out of it.

In his knowledge, the only pathway with abilities to manipulate flesh and blood was the Secrets Supplicant pathway, and that's only if the Beyonder is at least of Sequence 6.

Moreover, he was finding it hard to use his abilities smoothly, making him think that the opponent had a strong extraordinary item with him.

Understanding that he was at a disadvantage, he didn't continue to fight, but instead took a golden boat figurine out of his bath robe pocket.

Although the onlookers would find the boat figurine harmless, the young man knew that this was a dangerous extraordinary item.

He had been warned by his superiors to not use it, but the young man believed that the downside shouldn't be worse than his current predicament.

Pouring his spirituality in, a blue door appeared behind him, before proceeding to suck him in, leaving a light ball behind.

The young man instantly breathed a sigh of relief as he found himself teleported to a weird twisted world.

Putting his left hand over his chest injury, he transferred the wound to his left shoulder.

While feeling slightly numb, he tried to examine this place.

The place had an eerie atmosphere with seven lights flickering in the horizon.

For a split second, his intuition warned him that countless eyes were paying attention to him.

As a shiver ran down through his spine, the world in front of him disappeared and he returned to reality.

Rather than feeling happy however, the young man was shocked to find himself in a familiar room.

Before he could react, a shadow behind him condensed into a human figure and stabbed him in the back.

Turning his head with difficulty and attempting to see his killer's face, the young man was surprised to find a somewhat familiar face.

Surprise, anger and regret filled his heart, but he could do nothing about it in his final moments.
