Chapter 080

Alvin suspected the method Medici communicate with his descendants and Sauron with his, was either through prayer, which he knew that the barrier covering the realm with Medici's descendants couldn't isolate, or through the link that formed between all the subordinates of a War Bishop and above.

A more immediate and pressing concern for Alvin was if Sauron-Einhorn-Medici could venture out of the underground seal, where 'He' was apparently trapped. The evil spirit came out to deal with Frederick and claim the red box, but was foiled by Amon because it wasn't time. Also, according to the story he remembered, the evil spirit cooperated with 0-08 on some terms, and escaped with Ince Zangwill as his vessel while using Baron Pound as a distraction. So could the evil spirit come out and kill him and snatch the red box?

Alvin thought it was unlikely, but he couldn't be sure. If 'He' could, 'He' probably would have come out to get the red box himself when it was discovered. It was important enough for 'Him' to come out, maybe paying some sort of price, when Frederick had it, so there is no reason 'He' would not come out now if 'He' could.

But just in case, Alvin decided not to visit the location of the Tudor-Trunsoest Underground Ruins that he remembered, and avoid most of the West Borough whenever possible.

Disregarding all of that, Alvin finally had complete control of the Red Castle! Without the Knife of Judgement, he could not access all its features, but even then, from what he remembered from the memories of Frederick, it was completely sufficient to eliminate almost all needs for logistics.

Alvin tossed the Beyonder characteristic in his hand to the side, and excitedly went into the passageway to see the features of the Red Castle for himself.

There were multiple rooms immediately entering the passageway. Most of them were empty, some of them were turned into simple functional rooms by Frederick when he was still alive, like a bedroom and a dining room.

There were 4 rooms that had some functions, similar to the Dreamwalker's Throne.

The first was the Artefact room. Here, there was a Beyonder Characteristics of an Alchemist inbuilt. He could use it to appraise any mystical item, just like Sequence 6 of the Savant Pathway. Also, he could craft mystical items using Beyonder characteristics here.

Of course, both the abilities needed his spirituality to function, so he couldn't use them on items exceeding his Sequence.

The second room was a healing room. It had the functions of Sequence 8 Doctor of the Planter Pathway, but at a much higher level. He could use this room to recover from all kinds of injuries. Frederick, who was hit directly by an Angel could last so long only due to this room sustaining him. He also needs to supply spirituality for this room to function.

The third was a divination room. He could perform divinations all kinds of divination in here. Bit it was just regular divination at the level of spirituality supplied. It could not overcome interference and increase the power of divination like Klein's Sefirah Castle, but it was sufficient for ordinary divinations.

The last was a destruction furnace room. This room. This room was not fully accessible with the current authority of Alvin. It was powered directly by the Red Castle's power source, just like the barrier that separated him and Frederick before. This room could crush corrupted Beyonder characteristics or mystical items, to get pure Beyonder Characteristics. It was also possible to separate extra lower Sequence characteristics by using this room.

After these rooms, there was a lower level to the Red Castle.

There, there was a storage area with sufficient space to store everything from Beyonder items to ordinary items. There were measures to separate Beyonder characteristics from each other, and sealing facilities in place for the more dangerous items. There were a few items collected by Frederick still in there.

Then there were two things that Frederick never used, which Alvin thought was a shame because it would be very very useful.

There was a wall, with a peelable outer layer. If the layer was peeled and something was written on it, it would appear as it is on the wall. There were very few things that could stop this kind of communication, but the peelable portions were unfortunately limited.

Also, there was a Stele, where people could swear loyalty to the Red Castle's owner using their blood, and there would be a permanent connection to the Stele which they could never remove. The owner of the Red Castle could track down anyone who swore an oath with their blood, and if their Sequence was low enough, directly curse them using some means. Better still, the Stele could be manifested outside the Red Castle.

Alvin figured that these two features were possible because of the linking powers that the Red Priest Pathway had from the War Bishop stage. The linking had several uses in war, but it could apparently be also utilized to link items together to make mystical formations!

Frederick had learnt a lot about linking items together from the Red Castle enough to arrange an amazing formation beige his death, and Alvin had inherited his memories, and was planning to delve deeper into it.

"With so many high-level features and the characteristics of the higher levels of the Red Priest Pathway, the Red Castle probably is made from the Uniqueness of the Red Priest! That would explain why the evil spirit is so eager to get it! I know that the Uniqueness was taken by the Underworld Emperor after the Blood Emperor's fall. And according to what I know, he went mad after trying to accommodate it, and caused the Pale Disaster. The descendants of Medici went to the Southern Continent when the Pale Disaster was raging, and brought back the box. Was it possible that the Underworld Emperor repurposed the Uniqueness of the Hunter Pathway into a war fortress with immense logistical capabilities? He didn't go mad, instead the Pale Disaster was just something he voluntarily caused?

The Uniqueness still had some connection to Medici, and having sensed it, he instructed his descendants to retrieve it? Those who sent were able to retrieve it with heavy casualties, and they were sealed by Adam because he didn't want Medici coming back to full power just yet as it would cause some sort of domino effect? That would explain a lot" thought Alvin.

He then shrugged, deciding to leave the matter for later, and walked into the innermost room, which was built like a temple to pray in. In the middle of this temple was an Altar, and on it was what Alvin was something Alvin was excited about.

On the Altar, was a heavy antique-looking blood-red crossbow.
