Chapter 065

Alvin was browsing the information that Gordon had sent regarding the Zmanger Gang. The information by the Nighthawks was much more detailed and specific than his own. But the Nighthawks did not include much of the confirmed details, which were the main parts of the information he had gotten from his own network. According to what he had found from crossing the two, the Zmanger Gang had 4 Pyromaniacs, 4 Provokers, and 9 Hunters.

There was a possibility that one or two of them had advanced during that time, or new Hunters had joined in. There was also Rosago, a Sequence 5 Marionettist, albeit a newly advanced one, who might have a Marionette of any Sequence and Pathway.

Alvin was paying attention to a rumour that one of his information who had some contact with the Zmanger Gang heard, narrowing his eyes.

After a while, Gordon walked in, in person this time as confirmed by the lack of a flower pattern on his shoe, followed by 4 other members.

"Well, here we are. Behind me, as you know is Donald, Raleigh, Hannah, and Rico. You probably know Alvin from the last operation. We don't have much time, so I will cut to the chase. We must finish this operation today itself. Once the ambassador catches wind of our plans, he will use his connections and influence and pressure us to stand down. And once he does, as an ambassador, we would be forced to give him some respect, and can only propose terms instead of being able to execute them. Hence, we must strike the Zmanger Gang down swiftly. After they are whittled down appropriately, we will then speak terms with the ambassador" said Gordon.

"As you might know from your information, there are at least 18 Beyonders in the Zmanger Gang. The royal family permitted us to only use one unit of the Red Gloves, so that they can say that they have shown mercy when negotiating with Intis later. I decided to include Alvin, who is my informant, and thus attached to our unit to prevent us from being overwhelmed. Alvin has proven that he can take out low Sequence Beyonders incredibly quickly, which is his main priority in this mission" said Gordon.

He then continued, "Rosago will be left to me. I will use a Sealed Item to prevent both of us from attacking anyone else, and deal with him. Raleigh, Hannah, Rico and Donald will each deal with a Pyromaniac. All of you are Sequence 6 except for Hannah, so will focus on quickly killing your opponents and then trying to get some Provokers too. And Alvin, as I told you earlier, all the 9 Hunters will be left to you. They cannot participate in any of our battles, so they will probably run around, flee or try to use some methods to interfere from a distance. Kill as many of them as possible. The Provokers will probably join hands with the Pyromaniacs to deal with the four of them. If you have an opportunity, feel free to kill some of those Provokers too" said Gordon.

"Remember, we are going for the kill, to send a firm message. There is no need for prisoners. Out of the 17 Beyonders, at least 6 of the Sequence 8 and above Beyonders must die. And as for those Sequence 9, at least 6 of them must also perish. There is no need to worry about exceeding this figure, so you can fight freely" said Gordon.

Everyone including Alvin nodded.

Satisfied, Gordon said, "We leave in 5 minutes. Prepare yourselves"

He then called Alvin over to the side, patted him on the shoulder, and said, "Once again, a spirit attack to serve as the last line of defence. I'll lend you a defensive Sealed Artifact for tonight" he said, handing over a headband. "This is 3-031. It can make you resistant to flames, so you can take a direct hit from the flames of the Pyromaniacs and the Marionettist without any problems. But it can't do anything to bullets, and blades, or even flames morphed into weapons. So you should only consider it a failsafe against a random blast. The negative effect on has is that it makes you feel a lack of warmth. It may be harmful if worn for longer amounts of time, but for a few hours it won't pose a problem" said Gordon.

"And a warning. Rosago will not dare to actually kill a Nighthawk, but he may have fewer qualms about a Nighthawk informant. So be on your toes" said Gordon, as he walked away to talk to the others.

6 figures, in the cover of the night went to a roguish set of apartment complexes in the East Borough, at the edge of town. It was separated from the rest of the other buildings in the vicinity by barbed wire fences all around. The 6 figures easily scaled the fences, and jumped inside.

"The buildings and all the people in it are the core areas and members of the Zmanger Gang. The police have ordered a curfew as usual, and innocent people are unlikely to come here. We should also try our best to maintain the fight within the boundaries of this fence" said Gordon.

"Now. I had initially planned to storm into the core areas and engage the leaders directly. But as you can see, it is impossible to see who is where in here. And I can't confirm if Rosago and the core members of the Zmanger Gang are in here. So any suggestions on what we should do?" Gordon asked the group, but Alvin felt like he was asking him the question.

"Captain, it is best to draw out all the Beyonders put into the open. It is extremely unwise to fight inside the buildings. I for one set plenty of traps inside by bar which I can arm at a moments notice. These Hunters could also have done the same" said Alvin.

"Any suggestions on how to do that?" asked Gordon.

Alvin was confused, as he felt that it was highly unlikely that they did not think of the factors he had considered, or did not know the plan he was about to propose.

But still, he answered, "According to the rough map available, all the storage units, including the one for food, weapons, and money is on the southern side of this compound. There will probably be a few Beyonders guarding there. We can set fire to the structure. The Beyonders all over the compound will come quickly to save their stuff. Their arrival will probably be staggered, so we can take a few of them out before most of the others arrive" said Alvin.

"Very well. We will follow this plan" said Gordon, seeming pleased.
