14 Revelation

As Audrey Hall greeted Mr. Fool, she couldn't help but notice a peculiar card by the side of 'Him' atop the long table.

As her mind was shocked with surprise, she lacked the ability to maintain her expression for a second, and while looking at the other Tarot Club members, she noticed that the new member had his eyes fixed on her, seemingly capable of reading all her secrets.

'T-That gaze…' Audrey was shocked to realize that the old man, with his details mostly obscured by the gray fog, had the same eyes as she and Susie.

As the other members were observing the new member and taking their own conclusions, Ethan stood up and bowed down as a greeting.

"Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen." His manners were impeccable, not lacking at all when compared to a true nobleman.

Hearing Ethan's greeting, Klein briskly followed his introduction and said, "This is Mr. Devil. He'll be participating in this gathering from this day forth."

As Audrey heard Mr. Fool's introduction of the new member, she quickly proceeded to present herself, "Good afternoon, Mr. Devil. I'm Justice, it's a pleasure to have you in our midst."

Even if she found the name 'Devil' a bit dark and ominous, she didn't commit any faux pas in her introduction at all, and having been inspired by the man's elegant behavior, she greeted him like a true noble.

"Good afternoon. I'm Magician."; "Huh. The Hanged Man."; "Hello. I'm The Sun"; "The World."

With the other members introducing themselves, Ethan quickly analyzed their different behaviors, and being a true Spectator, he did so with incredible efficiency.

'A noble girl that aspires for a bright future, very elegant and refined. She seems to be from the Spectator pathway, probably a Sequence higher than me.'

'A lazy woman without much flair to her. She seems to be very forgettable. The way she looked at me had some incomprehensible initial fear. Probably from my code name.'

'A calm man. His eyes don't show much surprise at seeing me, but he's noticeably trying to read me. From the way he said his greeting, I can say he's a man that hates showing any form of weakness, proactiveness in a greeting being one of them. People like this tend to be overly ambitious.'

'A timid young kid. His height is ridiculous for a person so young. He seems to have some form of anticipation for something from me. Interesting…'

'A gloomy, gloomy, gloomy individual. He looks so cold, I would swear he's just a puppet with strings were he not to have just talked to me. He seems to be a very experienced Beyonder though, and might be very powerful. I'll continue to observe.'

Ethan quickly analyzed all the members with absolute precision. It could be said he didn't look like just a Sequence 9 from the Spectator Pathway.

As the members greeted Ethan, they also tried to understand his personality from his actions. The most precise one being Audrey, as she was already a Telepathist.

'Mr. Devil seems to be an incredibly refined and elegant individual, he also seems to possess a lot of knowledge and wisdom. But I don't know why… He gives me the feeling of being a very apathetic and cold man.'

As the members finished their greetings to the new member and Mr. Fool, Audrey suddenly lifted her hand and said, "Honorable Mr. Fool, I have something I would like to report to you alone."

Hearing this, Ethan's expression changed for half a second before returning to normal once again. He observed the other members' reactions and noticed they were also very curious, the man called The Hanged Man went as far as directly frowning.

As Audrey finished her words, Ethan heard Mr. Fool say, "Sure", and his senses were directly blocked by the gray fog.

After his senses were blocked for a minute or two, Ethan once again regained them, looking at the noblewoman called Justice, he noticed her high degree of satisfaction and a minor glance at the card by the side of Mr. Fool.

'Interesting.' As Ethan continued to analyze the things he saw from the other members, he heard the woman named Magician eagerly say to the gloomy man called The World, "Mr. World, I will try my best to gather a mystical item or powerful Beyonder weapon in the Sun domain."

After that, he heard Ms. Justice curiously asked about their private transaction and Ms. Magician to respond, "Mr. World has helped me find the formula for Trickmaster."

When Ethan heard that, he couldn't help but unconsciously ask, "You're an Apprentice? Do you have the formula for it?"

As Fors was just talking to Ms. Justice, she was a bit stunned to see Mr. Devil so eager with the things related to the Apprentice Pathway. Even then, she succinctly replied, "Yes, why do you ask?"

"Can you sell it to me? I can trade some Beyonder characteristics and formulas for it if you want, or I can just sell them to you for money." Ethan now had many different formulas and characteristics in hand.

"Well… Sure…" Fors was very surprised by the way Mr. Devil talked about the formula, she was just short of asking him why he would want it.

Alger was also surprised by this behavior, but he also refrained from asking.

The one to say something was, unexpectedly, The World.

When Klein heard Mr. Devil's request, he suddenly had a moment of inspiration.

'The way the symbol behind his chair keeps changing between three different ones… The fact he gives me the vibes of a Spectator, but his body looks overly defined with piercing green eyes… This person… Is he doing what I think he is?'

Klein controlled the marionette, The World, to say, "Are you… A Beyonder from multiple Pathways?"

When the other members heard that, their minds immediately went blank.

"WHAT!!!???" Alger was the first to express his surprise, incapable of suppressing his question to himself this time.

As the other members heard Mr. World's words, they looked at Mr. Devil with incomprehensible gazes.

Ethan, knowing he simply couldn't hide this fact if he wanted to be a member of this gathering, and also knowing that the members here wouldn't have any reason to go against him out of nowhere, said:

"Yes. After a strange encounter in my long life, I found myself able to maintain my sanity even after taking multiple potions. I hope you won't ask why, as even I don't know the reason."

Ethan was fairly honest with the other members. He knew they wouldn't dare do anything against him with the powerful Mr. Fool present, and he also knew that Mr. Fool was a gentle person. Which meant he would also not go against him for no reason.

However, Ethan quickly proceeded to say, "I don't really understand why, but it only works for me, no one with my blood is capable of doing the same."

This was something Ethan could easily tell, after all, this body didn't even belong to him before.

The other members were terrified by his words, their minds could simply not comprehend any words he was saying.

Even Mr. Fool himself went impossibly more silent than before, but no one noticed it.

Audrey was the first to regain her sense of self. After all, she was not that deep into the mysterious world yet, so she just considered this another supernatural event, "Mr. Devil, which pathways are you from exactly? I have noticed your eyes are very similar to a Spectator's one, do you have such powers?"

Even if she could regain her bearing faster, Audrey was still extremely curious to understand the mystery that was Mr. Devil, she just couldn't help herself from asking questions nonstop.

The other members were still dazed from Ethan's revelations, they took some time to regain their senses from Ms. Justice's numerous questions.

The World was the one to ask after Ms. Justice, "How do you not lose control…?"

His voice tailed off at the end, as if recalling Ethan's words of explanation from before.

Ethan just waited for the Tarot Club members to regain their postures. When everyone was able to think again, they all looked at Mr. Fool, seemingly asking their impossible to respond questions.

Mr. Fool didn't say anything, his casual smile disappeared and he just looked at Mr. Devil with a serious gaze, eventually closing his eyes and gesturing for the members to proceed with the gathering.

'Even Mr. Fool doesn't know…' This was the thought in all of the members' heads, they became incredibly terrified of Mr. Devil, but still decided to continue the gathering.

As Fors cast her gaze at Mr. Devil once again, she proceeded to say, "I can sell you the potion formula… I'd prefer money…"

Ethan looked at Ms. Magician and elegantly said, "Very well. How do we conclude the exchange?"

She continued on, "We can prepare a sacrificial ritual for Mr. Fool, "He" will then transfer the money to me…"

She looked at Mr. Fool and saw him give a light, casual nod. With this transaction finished, Ethan looked at other members and said, "If you have any Sequence 9, or even 8, Beyonder characteristics or potion formulas, I'll gladly buy them from you. I can trade for other characteristics and formulas, missions, money, or some of my knowledge."

The other members kept quiet, not daring to say anything at all. The one to say something was, once again, The World, "I have the potion formula for Lawyer and Barbarian."

Ethan looked at him and said, "Marvelous! What would you wish to trade it for?"

The gloomy Mr. World didn't wait a second to ask, "What's your current Sequence and Pathways?"

Ethan looked at him for a second and asked, in a very polite tone, the figure at the other end of the long, mottled bronze table, "Honorable Mr. Fool, would you please conjure some paper and pen for me."

The Fool nodded and a piece of paper and a pen appeared in front of Ethan. Seeing this, Audrey couldn't help but say, "Mr. Devil, what would you wish for this information?"

As Ethan heard her reply, he directly said, "The Telepathist potion formula, and 200 pounds."

Ethan knew this girl was a Spectator from a higher Sequence, he just didn't know what Sequence it was. However, the information she wanted was not worth a Sequence 7 potion formula at all, even if she were to have it.

Audrey didn't even blink before asking, "Okay!"

She then looked at Mr. Fool and also asked for a piece of paper, however, this time, she directly thought of the formula and the paper already had it.

Seeing this, Ethan changed his mind and decided to just do the same, conjuring the paper sheet with the necessary information with Mr. Fool's help.

As Alger saw this happen, he also said, "I also have two formulas."

Ethan looked at him and immediately nodded, turning his gaze at the sun, as if to ask, "Uhh… I don't really need this information but… Okay, I also have two formulas."

Derrick decided to get the information just because everyone was doing so, and he was also curious to know Mr. Devil's Pathways.

When he heard that Ethan was ecstatic, as the members conjured the papers containing the many formulas he wanted, Ethan directly said, "I am a Sequence 9 Savant and Spectator. And a Sequence 8 Unwinged Angel, from the Criminal Pathway."

As he instantly memorized the potion formulas, Ethan couldn't help but think to himself, 'But I'll soon be an Apprentice, Marauder, Seer, Assassin, Prisoner, Bard, Sailor, Lawyer, Arbiter, Warrior, and Sleepless. Ahh... Just thinking about it makes my human imprints go crazy with expectation.'

James, the silver haired young man, didn't lie before when he said he had the potion formulas for Arbiter, Warrior, and Sleepless up to Sequence 7. He got the formulas by trading them for some crucial information in investigations in various gatherings.

He then cast his gaze upon the other members, who were still thinking about how well his multiple Pathways could potentialize each others' powers, and said, "If you ever come to find the main ingredients of these potions, don't hesitate to tell me and I'll buy them immediately."

The other members looked at him, still dazed from the many discoveries of today, and continued the gathering.
