Chapter 52: Harvest and Church's Response

"Too bad Little Red didn't provoke Sasrir. Otherwise, I wouldn't have to deal with this. Ah, this kid is so clever at crucial moments. Where did his provocative spirit go?" Lynn muttered to himself as he regained consciousness in the Fifth Epoch, feeling somewhat regretful. It was a perfect display of his "brotherly love" towards his younger brother. If Medici knew, they'd probably end up fighting again.

Looking around, Lynn noticed he had been moved from the floor to the sofa. On the opposite sofa, Klein and Leonard were quietly exchanging words.

"You're awake..." The two naturally noticed Lynn's movement and stopped their conversation, turning their attention to him.

"Mhm..." Lynn responded, sitting up on the sofa. He unabashedly glanced towards where Master Rosago's body should have been, only to find it gone, with even the bloodstains cleaned up.

"We've cleaned up the scene while you were unconscious. Don't worry, we're professionals and left no traces." Leonard explained promptly, seeing Lynn's gaze.

In a sense, what he said was true. After Rosago was dealt with and Lynn fell unconscious due to spiritual exhaustion, the two Nighthawks reported the situation to the Church.

Of course, being individuals with secrets, Leonard and Klein tacitly concealed some details from each other. For example, Klein's "Creeping Hunger" and Leonard's ability to hold his own in spiritual strength, despite being Sequence 7.

Upon receiving the report, the Church was equally shocked. They hadn't expected Rosago to attempt to silence Lynn Sotos before leaving.

After a brief meeting, the Church decided on the following actions:

- The Church would take full responsibility for dealing with Bakarland and the remnants of the Intis spy faction. They wouldn't give Bakarland any more chances.

- Rosago's body was taken away by the Nighthawks team that came to clean up the scene.

However, the Church didn't ask the two to hand over items like the Characteristics of Rosago's Marionettist.

On one hand, these items didn't entirely belong to Klein and Leonard.

On the other hand, according to the Church, since the two were currently on a secret mission and considering the need to maintain their hidden identities and potential unforeseen circumstances during the mission, the items obtained by them during the mission would be handled by them. In return, the Church wouldn't give them any credit for turning in items.

This was quite normal, as the Church wasn't in the habit of having the Nighthawks hand over the spoils of their missions for free.

In fact, the contributions made by each Nighthawk and the items handed over were converted into corresponding merits by the Church. Nighthawks could use these merits to exchange for things they wanted, such as promotion elixirs.

"This is Rosago's Beyonder Characteristics, corresponding to the main Characteristics of the Sequence 5 potion of the Seer Pathway..." Klein pointed to the colorful "eye" and explained. After spending the past few days together, he knew Lynn Sotos's knowledge of mysticism was quite profound, so he was clear about what Beyonder Characteristics were.

"Rosago?" Lynn glanced at the colorful feature, showing a puzzled expression at the right time, though he wasn't surprised in the least.

It seemed his speculation was correct. Even if Klein hadn't left the Church, given the current level of attention the Church was paying to him to some extent, and the consistent style of the Church, "Mr. World" would still be born.

Klein explained simply. Through spiritual communication, he not only knew the identity of the pursuer but also the subsequent Sequence 5 potion formula of the Seer Pathway.

This made Klein very happy, but also somewhat regretful.

If only he had changed the Marionettist's Characteristics to something else earlier. Well, one shouldn't be too greedy... Klein muttered inwardly, then pointed to the strange piece of paper:

"This is the miraculous item corresponding to the Notary. It temporarily enhances Beyonder abilities. If the notarization fails, the Beyonder abilities will be forcibly dispelled."
