Chapter 163: Coincidences

Klein didn't want to sit on the grass to dirty his suit so he was using his cane to support his tired body.

'The captain and the others should be here soon...' he thought as he turned his head.

To one side of him was the body of a man, this man's face was crushed because Klein had used his cane to kill him when he ran out of bullets.

This man's name was Sirius Arapis.

Klein tightened his grip on the handle of his cane and drew a shaky breath.

His chest tightened just remembering the letters he had read.

Not even getting the Clown potion formula from channeling Sirius's spirit had made him happy.

'Getting the evidence should make me happy but it only makes my stomach drop more...' Klein thought heavily as he jerked his head away from Sirius's body.

The last few days, he had hardly slept because of what Chariot had said in the Tarot Club.

'There is a disharmony in your fate...'

'Have you encountered many strange coincidences in these months?'

What Mr. Azik had told him had made it worse.

Klein lowered his head slightly and narrowed his eyes, reminiscent of something.

'If any of you find yourself with too many coincidences in a short period of time...

I'm sorry to say that you are already in the script.'

What Chariot had said a few weeks ago now carried much more weight...

Klein quickly began drawing the multiple spheres of light on top of each other to get into Cogitation.

If it's what he thought it was...

He couldn't allow himself to think about this before revealing it to the Captain and the team.

The more people there are, the more difficult it is to hide it!

Thank the Goddess he didn't have to wait long as he saw Captain Dunn Smith arrive along with Leonard Mitchell and Kenley White.

Dunn Smith appears to be a man in his thirties, with light brown hair, a straight nose, and piercing gray eyes.

Leonard Mitchell is a young man who looks about the same age as Klein. With black sideburns and green pupils, he is good-looking and had a poet's romantic temperament.

Kenley White isn't very tall, his brown hair was quite thick, his body size is average, his muscles are very toned, and he looks like someone smart and capable.

"It seems your fate is tied to Beyonders and evil forces. In just a few weeks, you've encountered more supernatural incidents than we usually see in months." Leonard teased, seeing the body on the ground next to Klein.

'Why did you have to say that?' Klein groaned inwardly, outwardly he nodded.

"It may not be a coincidence." Klein said heavily...

Dunn scanned the surroundings and, with his gray eyes trained on Klein, he asked.

"You tried to channel his spirit?"

There were still traces of the Holy Night Powder and the scent of essential oils.

"Yes" Klein answered truly.

"I was worried that you wouldn't make it on time and that the remnant of his spirit would be scattered."

"You don't look well. Are you okay?" the short Kenley asked with concern.

Klein didn't answer, he just handed Sirius's undeliverable letters to Dunn and started to explain from the beginning.

As Klein explained what had happened to Dunn, he realized something that sent a chill down his spine.

'Just as I'm about to leave the library and find more clues about the ritual, I run into Sirius and have no choice but to kill him? That's ridiculous!'

'That was a huge coincidence!'

Thinking of that, he couldn't help but remember the red chimney...

"Klein?" Dunn asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Huh?" Klein blurted out.

"You fell silent in the middle of the explanation," Leonard teased with an amused smile while Kenley looked away.

"Is something bothering you, Klein? These last few days you've been very tense." Dunn asked, having averted his gaze from the letters.

The corners of Klein's mouth twitched slightly but he quickly controlled himself and began to speak.

It was now or never!

"Haven't you noticed something strange these past few weeks?" he asked somewhat worried and heavy.

Dunn widened his eyes somewhat confused and asked.

"Like what Klein?"

Klein immediately responded.

"Coincidences."

The air seemed to thicken and the light breeze that passed by turned icy.

Dunn's expression became more serious and hard.

"Elaborate."

"From how we found the Antigonus Family notebook, the fight with Ray Beiber, and the most recent, Sirius Arapis, have been very weird. I can't help but feel that all these things were discovered by a coincidence..."

This sudden change of atmosphere caused Leonard's smile to fade and his expression to turn serious.

Klein sighed and continued.

"But that ritual Sirius talks about in his letters, my spirituality tells me there's more to it than I see."

This was a truth as well as a lie.

The lie was that at no time had his spirituality reminded him or pointed out something strange.

The truth was the ritual, but he only knew it thanks to Chariot.

"All of this combined makes me feel awkward and strange. I also can't help..."

Klein had to stop for a few seconds to gather his courage.

Feeling ready, he dropped the bomb.

"I can't help but feel like we're characters in a story that someone is writing."

Klein's words seemed to hit Dunn who fell silent, his brow furrowed in thought.

He then widened his eyes in surprise, he turned to look at Klein.

"You're right." He said with absolute seriousness that surprised the three present.

"Klein, I know you are tired but you will have to come with me."

Klein didn't say anything out of surprise, he just nodded back.

Dunn then turned to look at Leonard and Kenley.

"You guys will stay and guard the scene, I'll have Old Neil and Seeka come here to help you."

Both men nodded, accepting the captain's orders.

"Captain, did something happen?" Leonard asked a little concerned.

"I'm not sure but if it's what I think it is then this is way more than we can handle." Dunn answered heavily.

He turned to look at Klein and said.

"Let's go."

Klein just nodded and quickly followed Dunn.

They both took a carriage to the Blackthorn Security Company.

...

The two wasted no time, greeting the receptionist Rozanne in passing as they both entered Dunn's office.

Klein watched as Dunn quickly began preparing a telegram with some discomfort.

He hadn't expected the Captain's reaction to be so strong.

He had originally planned to point this information out for the Captain to investigate further before doing anything else.

'But it turns out that just that information was enough for this?' Klein thought seriously as he watched as Dunn finished writing the telegram and prepared it to send.

The Captain must know a lot more about what's going on than he does...

He then nodded, that was the most likely option and most likely the correct one.

Sitting down at his desk after sending the telegram, Dunn raised a hand to his forehead and scratched it.

Seeing that the Captain wasn't saying anything, Klein steeled himself and asked.

"Captain, what did you just send?"

Dunn didn't answer, he just scratched his forehead a few more times.

After a few moments, he stopped this and raised his head.

"I called for reinforcements."

...

In a house that had a red chimney attached to it.

On a table that was attached to the side of the bedroom window of this house. An ordinary notebook was open and a dark blond man was writing in it with an angry and disbelieving expression.

'What just happened?! '

Everything was going well a few moments ago but then the quill was released from the seal and began to write.

Thanks to him being in the room he realized this and was able to stop the feather.

Looking up he saw the sentence that the quill had written.

<This is a miracle! Klein Moretti realized that someone was controlling the stage and revealed it to his Captain Dunn Smith!

Thanks to the information revealed by Klein and his experience, he was able to notice the very possible participation of Ince Zangwill!

He didn't hesitate and quickly went to his office at Blackthorn Security Company to call for reinforcements.

Ince Zangwill's plan will certainly be ruined and he will be caught!

O poor wretch Ince Zangwill!

The story he had been writing didn't even get to the point and it's already over!

This just shows that he is a useless writer!>

The last 4 paragraphs had been crossed hard and were being rewritten.

<Dunn Smith isn't too sure about Ince Zangwill's involvement so his request for reinforcements wasn't so hasty.

He only wrote the not-so-probable participation of Ince Zangwill and requested reinforcements to investigate further, thus becoming a reconnaissance team.>

These paragraphs were written and Ince Zangwill's expression became tense, his hand that held the quill was trembling.

Forcing himself, he continues writing.

<But when the reconnaissance team arrived they found nothing so after a few days of investigation they left Tingen City.

Ince Zangwill's plan is going smoothly and will be completed successfully.>

The hand that held the quill trembled violently and unable to hold it anymore, Ince quickly put the pen in a metal case that he sealed just as quickly.

"It seems that not only are you horrible with your hands on the bed but at writing as well~" a woman's voice teased to the side and Ince turned around annoyed.

Lying on the bed and barely covered by the sheet was a beautiful black-haired woman.

She had a mischievous smile, keeping that smile she tilted her head slightly.

"Oh~ Sorry did I say something that hurt you?"

Ince ground his teeth and ignored the woman, he returned his attention to the notebook.

His eyes focused on a name.

'Klein Moretti...' he thought venomously, gnashing his teeth even more.
