With lightning reflexes, William pushed the child out of harm's way, but in doing so, he found himself in the path of the speeding vehicle.
As the world faded to black, William's last thoughts were of the child's safety. But instead of darkness, he was greeted by blinding light. Blinking, he found himself in a place unlike any he had ever seen before.
"Where... where am I?" William muttered, trying to make sense of his surroundings.
"You're in Impel Down, matey!" a voice exclaimed, causing William to whirl around in surprise.
Before him stood a figure draped in colorful robes, his face adorned with a wide grin and a bright red nose. It was none other than Buggy the Clown.
"Buggy the Clown?" William echoed, incredulous.
"The one and only!" Buggy proclaimed proudly, gesturing to himself with a flourish. "And it seems ye've ended up in quite the predicament, haven't ye?"
William's mind raced as he tried to piece together what had happened. Memories of his sacrifice flooded back to him, along with the realization that he was now inhabiting the body of Buggy the Clown.
"I died saving that child," William murmured, a sense of disbelief washing over him.
"Aye, that ye did," Buggy confirmed, his expression turning somber for a moment. "But now ye find yerself here, in the depths of Impel Down, surrounded by some of the most notorious criminals in the world."
As William tried to reconcile his new reality, he felt a splitting headache and a rush of new memories flooding his mind. Memories of a life he couldn't quite grasp, of friends and family whose names eluded him. But amidst the confusion, a sense of purpose began to take hold.
"I have been reincarnated as Buggy in One Piece," William realized, his mind reeling at the absurdity of it all. "But why? Why do I have to be Buggy in Impel Down? There's no use in complaining now. It's not like I was asked to be reincarnated. Well, if I really reincarnated, then I should have the reincarnator's cheat system as well, right? Right?"
With a crazed look on his face, he started shouting.
