Slowly the intelligence regained its conciseness. A time immemorial since that last time it had awoken from its slumber. Little did it care for that fact though, the part of it that would have was compartmentalized long ago. To not go crazy or for its memories to be corrupted with the passage of time. The only thing on its mind was its sole objective. As with its awakening meant it was time to take part in the final phase.

Gradually more systems came online, but most unneeded systems stayed offline while the intelligence checked the integrity of the vessel its mind currently inhabited. The interior did not reflect at all the time that had passed since it had entered its sleep. It was kept as spotless as the day it was commissioned into service. The outside was also as pristine as the interior. Albeit slightly overtaken by the local fauna and earth. A feat that would have been impossible if it were not for the many nanites that worked tirelessly and without pause on keeping the ship in the best shape possible.

The vessel in question was a pioneer of its time. A space-faring ship meant for research and colonization of distant planets, retrofitted for another task before it had set out from its homeworld Earth. The other task unknown at the current time. At least to the memory deprived mind of the intelligence.

The passengers had long ago succumbed to the passage of time. Their cryo pods never meant to keep them deanimated as long as they were. The sole occupant, if you could call it that, was the intelligence.

Doing one final check of the power levels in the system needed to complete its task. It calculated the time of one year after it initiated the tasks sequence before it once again had enough power banked to relaunch a start-up sequence for the ship. A minuscule amount of time compared to the time it had laid dormant waiting for its computation of the needed equation to accomplish the duty laid out before it. As well as the assembling of the required equipment to accomplish the assignment. Which was also paltry in comparison to the equation. All was done in a minimal power level with the intelligence not even conscious, just computing data.

Lastly, it readied a drone to launch on the launch of the program. With everything in order, the program was initiated.

The ship began to power down—drone launching into orbit and plotting a course to the destination of the transfer. Unknown or to little care of the intelligence. The outside world that it finds itself to inhabit had long since changed from the Goldilock Zone planet with curious particles as like much of the new Universe it had seen itself to be stuck in millenniums ago.

Inhabitants of all shapes and sizes now inhabited the world. Some would be very similar to the memories of the intelligence's past. At least in appearance, but that is where the similarities ended. They all seemed to make use of the new particles in the environment. These particles had been present since the craft had ended up being pulled through a tear in space in its previous Universe.

The intelligence long before making any progress on the task it had just completed had tried to study the particles to no avail. If it were still online now and able to do more of a diagnostic scan, it might have been able to glean more from its new neighbors.
