Family

I was sitting on a bench out in the backyard smoking and listening to music. Logan steps outside and looks at me he moves forward slowly and stands in front of me. Logan stood there. I look up from my phone "Logan" I ask. Logan nods "Yeah your Horus," he asks. I nod "Yes I am," I say. Logan nods "Scott said something about you being my son," Logan said. Horus nodded "Yes that's right," I said. Logan looks at the paperwork. "What happened to your mother" he asks. "Died from cancer," I said. Logan nods and walks over to me looking at me closely "Did she talk about me" He asks. I looked at him "Yes all the time" I said. Logan lights a cigar. "Sorry not good at this dad stuff," he said. I nod "She knew that but she loved you and she loved me she wanted me here so here I am," I said. Logan nods "When did you start smoking" he asks trying to make a conversation happen. I look at the black in my fingers "15" I said. Logan nods "You have a girlfriend" he asks. I scoffed "No I am gay," I said. Logan looks at me "Did your mom know" he asks. I nod "She knew before I did" I laugh a little. Logan nods "So boyfriend then," Logan asks. "I did for a while but when Mom got sick we broke up," I said. Logan nodded "Sorry about that," he said. I shrug "We are still friends he knew I had to care for Mom," I said looking up. Logan nodded "That is good to hear," he said. I nod "She knew I smoked too she laughed and said like father like son" I laugh. Logan nodded "Glad you had a good life also glad I have you," he said. I nod "Yeah happy I have a family and I am not alone," I said. Logan hugged me I was taken back but I hugged back.

We head inside for dinner and I sit down next to Bobby. I eat with the rest of the kids. After dinner, I head to my room to shower. Logan was looking at old pictures of my mom Scott walks up "How is going" he asks. Logan sighed "He doesn't talk much probably got that from me but so far he is a good kid," Logan said. Scott nods.
