Loaded with Luck

My first original, Where I basically tried to make a system where you can actually buy Luck attribute. Got the idea from the strongest gene. Though I will focus on combat suits a little bit, most of the time I will focus on both mechanic and gene-related parts. As for the gaming elements, the whole world is set in a partial game setting. no such thing as Health Points or stuff, but there will be attributes And levels. I happen to read novels like The Legendary Mechanic, Super Gene, and The Strongest Gene, and I got this idea, to make a new novel. Only this time on a very massive scale. I'm learning to write a novel with the same writing way as that of the strongest gene. Hope you all like it. And please comment. My writing capabilities are really shitty.

The Same Old...

"Ow..Ow..Ow.."

Grabbing the head, Eden tried to get out of the bed. But found that his entire body has gotten weak. So weak that he couldn't even move from the spot he was sleeping at. Finally raising his hand a bit he looked at the comm to know how many hours he passed out for. However, what he saw, surprised him.

"System?"

[Host has passed out for fifteen days. The emergency module in the comm has been providing the host with the necessary glucose to keep the body out of commission the entire time.]

Eden was shocked by the information. At the same time, he thanked the heavens for giving him an idea of buying an expensive comm beforehand which also let him survive in such an unbelievable situation.

[System would like to suggest the host to spend some SP on physical attributes. Do take care of the body.]

"Thank heavens the comm has an inbuilt emergency module."

Grrrrrr...

A loud sound erupted from Eden's stomach.

"Next time, I will be sure to eat some nutrients packs before using the system to get advance knowledge or skills."

Finally, slowly getting up from the bed, he took out foods that he had stored beforehand in the storage module. He started gobbling them one after another.

"It's going to be sometime before I will be able to leave my room."

Eden took around fifteen minutes to eat some food and also some energy packs. Then again slept in the bed to get more rest.

The next day, or at least according to the time shown in the comm, Eden finally was able to get out of the bed. But the moment he got out of the bed, he felt something off. He felt fresh, too fresh in fact. He had no idea what was going on. The way he looked at the surrounding was also a bit different.

However, the room was still the same. There was not a single difference from before.

"That's strange. But if the change is not external, could the change be within me." Finally, he opened the comm and looked at his status only to be shocked.

Strength: 9

Agility: 6

Physique: 7

Mentality: 18 (An overall intelligence, creativity and concentration attributes)

Endurance: 7/7 (Based on the physique.)

"It's gone up," Eden mumbled while looking at his mental attributes. "But why?"

After thinking about it for a while, he concluded it might have something to do with the massive load his brain took while the system pushed all those loads of knowledge and skills in his head.

"Ok! so huge load of mental pain will also increase the mental attributes. That's an awesome cheat. I don't have to spend SP on the mental attributes." Eden spoke to himself."Maybe I could try something like that for other attributes too."

However, he quickly rejected those thoughts. He didn't want to take any more risks. Finally, after understanding all changes in his body, Eden left the room and walked towards the cruise lobby. And, found that the sight was still the same. However, comparatively the amount of books gazing students in the lobby was a bit little.

"So they started to study in their own rooms. Should have done that from the start."

Walking around the passage of the cruise he began sightseeing. Of course, the term sightseeing referred to looking at the long lines of the stars, cast on the glass because of the speed of the star cruise and the students bowing down at their books. Finally, after walking for five minutes he reached the cockpit of the ship which was located at the front of the cruise.

And, nothing new. Just some private security personnel who were guarding the cruise captain, pilots, and other employees. Seeing nothing new, he turned around and left the place back to the lobby. When he reached the lobby, he saw someone who he did not want to see.

"Hey Victor, look! it's Warson." Cried out one of the lackeys who had absolutely no value in the eyes of Eden.

Eden walked towards the bar located at the corner of the lobby without looking at the noisy group. Clearly, he didn't have any plans to interact with them. However, the other party didn't seem to have a similar idea.

"Well well well. Look who's here. The one and only, useless Warson." Spoke Victor followed behind by useless bums.

"Don't wanna hear that from you, twat." Replied Eden.

"What did you just call me?" Victor retaliated in rage.

"Do you really want me to repeat that, twat."

"Martha called, "Victor continued, "Told me you made fun of her "

"Well, I didn't actually make fun of her. I just didn't give her any face."

"Why?" Questioned Victor.

The hell, he is still going at it. "Why should I?"

"Cause, she's my girl."

"What kind of dumb*ss reason is that? And let's be real here, when have I ever given face to any of you?" Eden questioned back listening to the dumb reason.

Both sides wanted to let their fist do the talking, too bad they couldn't.

Why? Well, if you think you are someone big and did start a fight, where would you be thrown off next, no-one knows. The security personnel, chosen for the spaceships only knew how to fight with pirates, and not how to settle small fights or disputes

Hence, they chose the simplest way to settle any problem, to remove it from the root.

So, when someone chose to travel on a star-cruise, one should never force security personnel to take control of any situation. Of course, both Eden and Victor knew about this unwritten method of peacekeeping used by the cruise security personnel.

Also, the reason why Eden chose a verbal argument in this situation.

And also the reason why Victor chose a verbal argument in this situation.

"How dare you Warson, are you trying to piss me off?"

"Since when did I care?"

Eden and Victor, both wanted to smack each other's face. However, no-one had forgotten about the unwritten rules when in a star-cruise.

"People are studying. Even when they are traveling. However, you are here in the bar enjoying it. Don't you have any shame?"

Oh! Now you're playing this game. Alright, bring it on.

"Even after taking mental boosters, not being able to accomplish a double distinction, Don't you have any shame?"

"You didn't achieve double distinction either."

"I didn't take any boosters either."

That was the truth. Eden didn't consume any regents not did he went through any brain implants. This also happened to be the reason why the teachers liked Eden.

"What about now? Which one did you choose now? Reagents or implants? Don't say you don't choose any? Go on speak up, what have you used now?"

"None." Eden simply replied.

"Hah, of course, you had to take one. And you still have guts to point... Wait what did you say, one? He just said one right" Victor questioned the lackey standing beside him.

"None," Eden repeated.

"... Don't joke with me. The hell are you doing here if you don't haven't taken any boosters! Are you going just to make fun of yourself? Huh?"

"I didn't need those back then, I don't need them now," Eden spoke as if it was quite normal for him to not use any boosters.

Of course, now he didn't need to even consume those. He just had to spend some SP and be done with it.

"Is that so. In that case let's have a bet, just like the last time."

"No thanks, I am good. You lose all the time." Eden replied waving his hand, "Also I'm actually quite bored of winning, especially when it's against you."

The only thing Victor knew was throwing away credits. But it was almost like this idiot has an endless pouch that never ran out of credits. So it was very boring for Eden to bet against Victor.

"Come on, Where's your gut. Also, this bet is actually quite easy. Let's see who will get a higher ranking. You or me."

Eden suddenly looked at Victor as if he was considering the bet. "And the winner gets?"

"One combat reagent formula."

"Hmm. Make that two and I will accept the bet." Eden replied, after all, he was going to complete in the competition anyway.

"Done."

"Very well. I accept the bet."

Grinning Victor left the lobby as if he had gotten Eden while forgetting why he met Eden in the first place. Eden could only shake his head.

The only plus point about Victor was, his loaded family and his chances of success while producing any gene reagents. On everything else, he was really dumb. Even after going through brain implants.

But he also knew that everyone going to the competition will choose at least one or both of the options to increase their mental attributes. Hence, the competition, even with his skills and knowledge sets, it was going to be very difficult to even reach the top five hundred.

"Hmm, should I buy more skill sets?"
