Chapter 1 - Transmigrated

[Ting! System Installed.]

The once tired eyes of Damien snapped open from his deep sleep to the a strange sound that rang in his ears. However, instead of finding himself on his old mattress, he found himself entangled with vines as he was hanging a few meters above the ground.

' Fuck! What the hell is this? Where am I? What's going on? Where's my bed? And, what was that weird sound? '

Questions coursed through Damien's headbeAs he stared at his surroundings bewildered.

' I should first get out of here. God knows how much longer can these vines hold me? And, if I do fall, the bones of my 37-year old body would not be able to handle the damages that would incur to me. '

The analyzed thought crossed Damein's mind as his body went still. He carefully started analyzing all the vines he was tangled in as his eyes fell on the one wrapped around his right arm.

This seems strong enough to help me get down to the ground.

Picking that thick vine amongst the hundred wines wrapped around him. He untangled himself from the particular wine. As he tied it securely around his waist and then, to the other end of the branch.

' This should do. I really don't want to fall. '

As Damien was finally able to be maintain his balance and stand still at a place, he started entangling himself from the smaller vines wrapped around his big body.

Once done, he made an easy landing on the soft grass. As a sudden sharp pain ran across his chest.

' Why does jumping hurt so bad? I know I'm old. But, I'm not that old. Fuck! '

The pain made Damien's hand fly over to his chest as he placed it over the region of pain and glanced over it.

"Blood?" The red salty substance was all over his hand as it glowed under the shiny white moonlight.

' How the hell did I start bleeding? '

Damien's heart raced as panic started to set in as he wondered how he had ended up in this situation and where he was. He tried to think back to the last thing he remembered but all that seemed to strike his head was him sleeping on the bed after finishing him story.

There was nothing else. Absolutely nothing.

Looking around, he found himself in a dense forest with tall trees towering above him. Few rays of moonlight were penetrating through the thick canopy, leaving less to sight and almost everything to be bathed in dim shadows.

' How did I end up here? In a forest? There were no such forests in the civilized neighborhood where I lived. Where the fuck am I? '

Feeling lightheaded with all the confusing overwhelming emotions coursing through him, Damien took a deep breath and tried to focus.

' I first need to find shelter. Then, take care of this damned wound. Before I end up bleeding to death! '

Damien slowly made his way through the forest, careful not to exert himself too much due to his injury. As he stumbled forward, the sound of rustling leaves and distant animal calls filled the air, reminding him of the unknown dangers lurking within the darkness of the forest.

After what felt like an eternity, Damien finally spotted a faint light in the distance. His hope rekindled, he quickened his pace towards the light, desperately seeking some form of assistance.

As he neared the source of light, Damien realized it was coming from a small open space with a lake shining in the center.

'Majestic.' Damien thought as he walked to the lake to stare at the clear water. However, what he saw next pulled the ground underneath his feet.

Black hair. Red eyes. Pale white beautiful skin. A well proportioned body.

The reflection of him in the clear water shocked him so much so that he stumbled back, falling on the soft grass.

'Did I transmigrate into the villain of my novel!? What the hell!?'

Damien's mind raced with disbelief and confusion as he tried to comprehend the situation. Never did he imagine in his wildest dreams that he would find himself inside the world he created in the villain of his novel.

As he lay on the grass, a mix of fear and curiosity filled his mind. As Damien tried to calm himself, by thinking that this might just be a vivid dream or some sort of hallucination.

The pain in his chest and the unfamiliar surroundings seemed too real to be fiction.

If he had truly transmigrated into his novel, then he needed to consider the consequences and the challenges that lay ahead.

Especially, the death of Zeus. He didn't want to die. No. But, he didn't even know what part of the story he had transmigrated into.

"Ugh! This fucking shit." Damien cursed in frustration as he closed his eyes trying to remember a scene of injured Zeus in his book.

As Damien racked his brain, a memory flashed before his eyes. It was a scene of Zeus being ambushed and getting hurt as his relatives used this chance to kill his daughter. Zeus arrived at the scene injured, only to find his daughter's bleeding body lying on the floor.

'Tomorrow morning! The death of Kate is tomorrow morning. I can't let her die. Even though she's just a character made after my daughter. But, she's all I have now. I might be dead in real world so I might as well save Kate and live happily with my daughter here. After all, isn't Zeus the same as me?'

Damien thought as he got up. But, the excruciating pain in his chest made him come crashing down to his ground.

[Host Injured! Healing Host... 15%... 45%... 50%... 75%... 99%... 100%...

Host Healed.]

The strange voice rang in Damien's ears as he stared at the green screen flashing in front of his eyes.

And, to Damien's suprise. As soon as the strange voice said, "Host Healed." He was raised into the air as his body emitted a strange blinding light, making him close his eyes shut.

The next moment he knew. He was standing on the ground, healed and fine as the pain that was coursing through his body earlier seemed to have vanished.

"Search for him! We must kill Duke Zeus today. Or else, the Viscount won't let us live. And, since he's injured it shouldn't that hard to send him to heaven. And, making his little devil follow."

'The ambush set by Viscount Levet to make sure I don't ever make it to Kate!'

The thought rushed through Damien's head as he clenched his fist in anger. However, his anger was soon replaced by his logical senses.

'I'm not strong enough to fight them, right now. It's better to hide and play it safe. The first thing is to make sure Kate is...'

"Hello Host! I'm Corney! Your AI system helper."

"What the hell!?" Damien cursed, jumping back a little surprised at the sudden appearance of a little dragon.

"Hey! Check there. I think I heard a sound. Make sure Duke Zeus doesn't walk out of this forest alive."
