Magical Beast Xiao Hu (part 2)

That night...

While everyone was getting ready for bed, Xiao Hu and Heihei were discussing Xiao Hu's sleeping place. Heihei has always been sleeping with Wenmin, but now that there's an additional member of the family, Heihei was reluctant to let Xiao Hu sleep alone. It feels like a sleepover party.

Wenmin just watch as the two fur balls discussed with heads close to each other. Jiahao has already left and Wenmin has already cleaned himself. He was making his bed and patting his pillow when Heihei and Xiao Hu entered the room.

"Heihei, will you and Xiao Hu be sleeping with me tonight? The bed still has some space left." Wenmin's bed was not really big. By modern size, it's actually a super single. Adding a cat and a slightly big tiger cub can make the bed feel a little cramped.

"Wenmin ge, Heihei and I have decided to sleep together with you since I have never slept on a bed before. I might cause you some inconvenience but thank you for taking me in." Xiao Hu was quite a polite child. Or one might call him stoic?

Heihei and Xiao Hu jump onto the bed and each took Wenmin's side. It wasn't particularly cold that night but having two portable walking heater side by side creates a warm current throughout Wenmin's body.

Wenmin and Heihei quickly fell asleep leaving Xiao Hu alone who was pretending to sleep. He opens his eyes and looks at Wenmin and Heihei. He can sense Qi from Wenmin when they first met and being so close to him makes it easier to feel them. Xiao Hu knew that Wenmin has an excessive amount of qi.

To prevent them from going berserk for not being released, Xiao Hu decided to absorb the qi that was flowing outside of Wenmin's body. Xiao Hu felt calm and warm when the qi entered his body. He looked at Wenmin, wondering how such a young and frail-looking human has this big amount of qi.

Xiao Hu has met Jiahao and he knows that Jiahao is not an ordinary villager. Jiahao possesses a lot more qi and one can still feel his fierce aura if they really heightened their senses. Xiao Hu was busy absorbing the qi that he didn't realize that his body grew a few more centimeters.

Xiao Hu was still feeling the qi inside him circulating when suddenly he heard faint breathing and whispers outside of Wenmin's house wall. Since Wenmin lived at the end of the village, people rarely ever come here, especially during nighttime.

'Looks like someone is here. Since I'm one of the family members of this house, I should protect this house and Wenmin too.' was what crossed Xiao Hu's mind. Even though Xiao Hu is still a young man, no young cub would be correct, he can still do tricks and tortures to scare people.

Xiao Hu used his qi to see people and sense his surroundings, he can see a thin man and a woman outside of the house. He heard them saying that Chen Jiahao has been going to Li Wenmin's house and it would bring shame to the village and the Chen family.

Although it is true that unmarried people cannot be in the same enclosed space, Aunt Bao and Xinyi were also with them. Xiao Hu can guess what these people were trying to do, he releases a little of his powers to create strong wind outside of the house and let out a horrifying growl that can only be heard by the two people.

The people outside of the house were actually Wu Jiali and Chen Haoran. They wanted to create rumors about Wenmin and Jiahao so as to make them lose face. To do that, they wanted to catch Chen Jiahao coming in and out of Wenmin's house at night.

It feels like they trying to catch a cheater and viral them across social media. When both of them heard the growl, they were scared. There have never been any cases where ferocious animals ever came inside the village.

They know that Wenmin's house is near the mountain but it would be impossible if Wenmin didn't hear the terrifying growl. Suddenly, they heard a voice so loud that their heads hurt. "Mortals! What are you trying to do with the person whom I am protecting?!" said the voice.

It sounded so loud and the voice was so deep that it felt impossible for a human being to actually have this voice. Amidst the chaos, confusion started to rise up. 'Person that was protected?' was what Jiali and Haoran were confused about. The only person who lives here is Li Wenmin, does this mean that he was protected by an immortal???

"Impossible!! How can an orphan like that is being protected by an immortal?!" Wu Jiali was angry, but also scared. She has always regarded herself as the prettiest in the village. Regardless of whether she can give birth or not, she still sees herself as someone who deserves everything.

She was humiliated by Jiahao and Wenmin, now there's an immortal protecting him. Why can't an immortal protect her? She has been through a lot since she married in the Chen Village. Useless husband, and a poisonous mother-in-law, and she has to keep up being the prettiest in the village.

Why can't someone like her be as lucky as Li Wenmin who didn't even have a father, was separated from his natal family, and was also left alone ever since his ama died? He's only a ger. A ger's ability to conceive was even lower than females, how can he get so many good things?!

Xiao Hu can feel Wu Jiali's negative emotions towards Wenmin. He didn't know what happened between them but he has been living in the yard for quite some time. He has seen how hard Wenmin has been working inside the garden. Wenmin has never complained about his hardship and he knows that Wenmin is kind.

He let out a fierce aura and swat his paw in Jiali and Haoran's direction. Suddenly, as if they were hit by something hard, they flew and hit the ground. Both of them were scared when Xiao Hu let out a warning. "This is a warning to you two imbeciles. If I see you causing trouble for Li Wenmin again, I will crush your bones and pull your innards out, and leave them at the entrance of the village for people to see. Leave and don't come here again!"

Both of them were scared. They ran as if they were chased by ghosts. Little did they know that Chen Jiahao, who cultivated his qi, had heard about the incident as Xiao Hu's qi energy was strong enough to even cause Jiahao's cultivation to be disturbed.

He who only let out his qi to scan his surroundings heard everything from the start to finish. 'I shouldn't let that woman go this evening'. Chen Jiahao was amused by how stupid the couple was. Why would they bother Wenmin? Why not come to him? Sure enough, weak people are scared of the strong. So let him cause trouble for them.

Jiahao sat up from his house's corridor and went inside his room. He blew out the candles and went to sleep. His mind and body felt giddy as he was excited to cause trouble for his dear lovely cousin and beautiful wife tomorrow.
