Chapter 3 Run!

AEROUS POV:

"This is a good fetch, we could sell him to the Countess." Bulky man #1 said.

Human trafficking huh... What should I do? I could kill them, but now that I thought about it, they might have backup.

There's also a chance they have some weird powers that Kaiyu said.

The only reasonable choice is to..

RUN!

Finding a chance, I tried to run away from the five bulky men, they immediately saw my plan to escape and started to catch me.

"How can you guys not catch such a small kid!" Bulky man #3 shouted, holding the girl who led me to them.

From they're actions, I could tell that they're probably taking the girl hostage, but why didn't the girl run when she was alone? She even led me here.

Her life isn't my problem anyways.

Although I am quite small since I'm just thirteen, I am quite atlethic making me faster than the four men chasing me.

"Just use your ability!" Bulky man #2 shouted at bulky man #4.

Suddenly, bulky man #4 started to get significantly faster, right now, he's probably three times faster than me, if not more.

Good thing I have a land advantage, since I am quite good at running through the forest.

Still though, how can I activate my ability?

Although I am quite fast in the forest, that doesnt mean I was blitzing the others, right now, I'm going full speed while the bulky men were slowly catching up to me.

I saw a large but not noticable tree, I hid behind it to catch my breath.

Looking at the tree's shadows I put my hand on it. And again, it did nothing.

I did it again but imagined my hand going through he shadows.

As I placed my hand in one of the tree's shadows, my hands were sucked in.

"What the fuck." I unconciously said, making the bulky men aware of my location.

How did I do that again?

I pulled out my hand and just like last time, I imagined myself going inside the shadow.

Although it felt weird, it actually worked.

Yes, right now, I'm inside a shadow.

After waiting for five minutes inside a shadow, I went out.

I first looked around if any of the bulky men were still after me.

As I didn't see them anywhere, I called the police.

"Hello, this is the police, is there anything you'd like to say?"

"Hello... I discovered some people who do human trafficking, I was just lucky enough to escape, I'm in Kainree forest. Please get here immediately." I said as I turned off the phone.

"I better move out.." I said to myself, as I stood up.

What was that guy's ability anyway? He looked like his body was getting stronger.. Is it some physical enhancement?

Anyways, this is quite a troublesome first day..

I immediately ran out of the forest, since I didn't want the police to discover me.

| Outside The Forest |

I let out a sigh as I looked at my surroundings.

"This world really does resemble earth.." I muttered.

After I was out of the forest I just kept walking away from it, untill I saw a bakery.

I went in and got greated. "Hello young man, what type of bread are you looking for?" The receptionist asked.

"I'm sorry, but is it okay if I look around first?" I asked, looking at my bag of coins.

I need to make sure I don't buy anything overpriced..

"Go on." She said with a genuine smile.

I looked around and saw different types of bread, like cheese breads, baguettes and so on.

"How much for a cheese bread?" I asked.

"A cheese bread huh? If you buy one, it's two bronze coins, if you pay ten bronze coins, you get six pieces of the cheese bread." She answered.

Right, currency in this world is different too, since unlike dollars, or yen, you pay by coins. Just like those in fantasy stories.

Looking at my bag, it looks like I am quite wealthy, my bag was had upto thirty bronze coins, twenty silver coins, twenty to thirty gold coins, and probably fifty adamantatium coins.

"I'd like to buy twenty bronze coins worth of cheese bread please." I said, taking out twenty bronze coins.

"Very well." She said, as she started putting the twelve cheese bread I ordered in a bag.

Twelve pieces of bread might be too much for a normal person, but I am really hungry you know?

"Thank you." I said lowering my head, as I paid for the bread.

I took my cheese bread and started walking out, "Thank you again!" I said, waving at her.

"You should come back some time!" She replied, waving back at me.

I nodded at her, as I went out.
