CHAPTER ONE: SHE DOES NOT KNOW WHO HE IS

It was late at night. A black full-size Lincoln SUV is driving into an extravagant mansion in A city's most expensive suburb.

Inside the mansion.

Cassandra Williams's heart was fluttered, knowing that the person that had arrived in that SUV was her long-lost father.

She did not know who he was.

Her mom Katherine came home from work some weeks earlier with a mixed expression explaining to her daughter that her father Ben is requesting to meet her after years of separation.

Cassandra could not bring herself to imagine what her father looked like, all she heard about him growing up was that he left her with her mom some months after her birth, growing up Cassandra had hope he would come for her one day.

When the day finally came Cassandra doesn't really feel like letting a stranger into her life for the fear that he might leave her and her mom stranded once again after all he already had his own family but out of eagerness she decided to meet with him.

"Don't be afraid. Take deep breaths."

"You can do it, Cass. There's nothing more important than getting to know your dad. It okay to let people in."

She couldn't ignore the sound of the car entering the mansion.

Now that it had come to this, all she could do was keep talking to herself, to persuade and comfort herself.

When Ben Crawford walked in, he immediately saw his daughter, who was standing in the living room. She was young, in the prime of her youth-----

"H-Hello…." She said looking at a figure of a man who looked just like her approaching her with his hand held out.

She had thought that the past few days of mental preparation had left her numb to everything, so she would not shy away. Now that it was actually time, she still could not help but feel scared, what if he doesn't like me? She thought to herself. How pathetic.

The urge to run was strong.

Ben did not know if what he was doing was right, but he did know that he desperately needed his daughter in his life, he had left years back with her mom because he was not capable of being a father financially and emotionally but has years passed he had groomed himself to become one, after all he already had a son.

Ben looked down on the petite girl from above.

"Hello, my dear"

The man sounded just like her with a deep, mellow and mesmerizing voice.

Cass was a little shocked. Why did he have such a young-sounding voice? She couldn't wait to tell her best friend Alexis what her father sounds like, knowing that Alexis has a thing for older men.

He was certain that she was not shy.

Before she could recover, she heard that man continue, "It a pleasure for me to finally meet you"

That was all she heard before she swerved back to her thoughts, "why did he suddenly pick interest in her? Is he going to take her away from her mom?" all this thought drowned on her but she ignored it all to at least have a conversation with her dad.

After a while her Ben left, thinking about how smart his daughter was, even though he knew she wasn't really comfortable around him, she still braised herself up to have a conversation with him and that was more than enough for him.

That night, Cassandra felt like a blade of leaf drifting on the water. She experienced all sorts of feelings, happiness, joy, tears...
