Mu Yuchen

Liu Xiaolan quickly finished putting her things aside, and soon made her way towards her temporary bed.

Running around the whole day and bringing back 2 sacks full of stuff truly made her tired. Seeing that it was already getting dark, Liu Xiaolan lied down and soon feel asleep.

Meanwhile, inside the mountains, a life and death chase was taking place, not far away from the place Liu Xiaolan currently lived.

Mu Yuchen was moving fast, his black robes have already been covered in blood. Most of it however wasn't his, but from the people that were after him. On his face was a silver mask, with his dark eyes and coldness sweeping through them.

Looking behind him, he was still being followed by a group of enemies. With no other choice, he speed up his tempo and moved further into the mountains, holding his sword tightly close to his body.

After a while, both he and the group behind him run to the edge of the mountain, leaving him no road to escape.

One of the men from the group following him came forward and said, "Mu Yuchen, your time is up. If you stop fighting we might leave you a whole body."

Mu Yuchen sneered. "Qin Weiren, you're truly a dog of your master. No matter what he orders you to do, you will follow him without even thinking about what he asks you to do. Truly a qualified dark guard…"

"If I don't follow his orders, whose orders am I supposed to follow?"

Qin Weiren looked at him with disdain and gave his man the order to kill. "No need to hold back, just make sure he is dead."

If it was in normal circumstances, Mu Yuchen would never be afraid of Qin Weiren and his man. However, before today's fight, one of his man betrayed him and put some poison into his cup.

While Mu Yuchen was poisoned many times and his body is already able to fight against most poisons, it still weakened him. Being followed by a large group of men, he did manage to kill a large amount of them during the chase, but couldn't kill each and every one of them.

Now looking at them, Mu Yuchen quickly made a decision. He took a deep breath and jumped down the cliff.

Qin Weiren palled and quickly run to the edge of the cliff, "Do you see his body? Is he dead?"

Looking down from the cliff, all they could see was a lush forest. However, it wasn't easy to get down to that place from this place, and they couldn't stay there for too long. "Alright, let's get out of here. With his injuries, a fall from here should kill him."

Meanwhile, Mu Yuchen was slowly moving his hurt body. His bet paid off and while he was falling down he was caught by branches of nearby trees, making the impact of his fall much smaller than it normally would be.

During the fall, Mu Yuchen mask fell down and was lost somewhere. Now, his handsome face was fully visible. Well defined, with a sharp jaw and angular cheekbones. The complexion of his skin going well with his dark, ocean-like sharp eyes.

"Since I'm still alive, I'll get revenge one way or another in the future…" He muttered to himself, while he sat down next to a bush, covering his body with it, and slowly closed his eyes, recovering some of his strength.

Soon, the sun began to came out and a next day begun.

Liu Xiaolan had no idea about the battle taking place on the mountain during the night, not far from her current home.

When she woke up, she quickly went to the river and brought some water back using her new pot. She went outside her house with her axe, and after trying to cut down a tree for some time without any luck, she simply decided to cut down some brunches that were close to the ground.

Using them, she cooked a very basic rice porridge. Excited, she took a bite and realised that she forgot a crucial ingredient, salt. She looked down at her pot full of porridge, a little depressed.

With no other choice, she quickly forced herself to eat her bland food.

Liu Xiaolan picked up one of her empty sacks, took her axe with her as well and slowly made her way towards the mountains. With the new sack, hopefully she should be able to load it fully with mushrooms growing on the mountain and bring them to the city.

Along the way, she also noticed that their amount was slowly getting smaller because of her. While the mountain was big, she was scared to go too deep inside, since various animals, both good and bad were living there.

If she was unlucky and met something dangerous, she wouldn't be able to escape even if she had another 10 lifes.

"I think I'll need to go a little deeper today, I already picked all edible mushrooms in this place…" Liu Xiaolan's turned sharp and her face looked decisive.

Moving along the trees, she started going deeper inside the mountain area while picking mushrooms.

The sack she brought with her today was much larger than her previous 2 baskets. If the baskets could hold about 2,5 pounds of mushrooms each, then in this sack she could probably put in over 40 pounds of mushrooms.

Obviously it would be hard for her to carry it around with her, and finding such a big amount of mushrooms would take a long time, but Liu Xiaolan thought that if she could get around 15 pounds of mushrooms to sell today, it would be a good haul.

Moving forward, Liu Xiaolan quickly held her breath and looked around after noticing blood on the ground. Seeing that no animal was near, she slowly locked her eyes towards that blood trail.

Thinking that it was probably blood from an injured animal, she thought that maybe if she followed it she could find it's body and get some meat to eat.

Here's the chapter. Please make sure you've read the previous one as well, since I've messed up and uploaded 8th chapter twice. It's fixed now.
