16 A Day With Dorothy

With the meeting concluded, Asher chose to take a leisurely stroll through the kingdom. Given that he had no pressing tasks at hand, he had the freedom to engage in whatever activities he pleased. Nozel had advised him to enjoy himself, as the following day was expected to be long and demanding.

Just as Asher was preparing to depart from the Silver Eagle headquarters, Dorothy intercepted him, preventing his departure.

"Asher Kun, wait! Let me come with you!" Dorothy shouted and ran towards Asher.

"What?" Asher looked at Dorothy.

"Since we don't have much to do today, let's go to town to waste time!" Dorothy said with a smile.

(I don't know the name of the town; it's where the Black market is located.)

"I've got something to do." Asher lied and started to walk away.

But Dorothy didn't let him, as she held Asher's right arm.

"Now, now, Asher-kun, it's not healthy for a kid to lie. I know you're planning to go there."

Asher took a deep breath, mustering his patience as he dealt with Dorothy. He found her to be excessively loud and bothersome.

"Fine, let's go." Asher agreed since Dorothy would become more annoying.

......

Upon arriving in the town, they noticed that there were only a handful of people present. As it was still early, the town was relatively peaceful, with fewer individuals around. Typically, the town would become more vibrant and bustling during the afternoon or evening hours.

Asher and Dorothy began their walk together, with Dorothy incessantly talking and posing various questions to Asher. Despite her constant chatter, Asher remained patient and answered her inquiries calmly.

As Asher's gaze fell upon a vendor selling cotton candy, Dorothy noticed his interest and smiled in response.

"You want one? I'll buy it for you," Dorothy said.

"But..." Before Asher could finish, Dorothy interrupted him.

"No buts! Let's go! I'll buy you one. I have lots of money." Dorothy insisted, taking hold of Asher's arm and pulling him towards the cotton candy store.

"Hello, mister, can we get two?" Dorothy said to the vendor.

The vendor was startled when he saw a Magic Knight captain talking to him. He looked at her side and saw the kid wearing the Crimson Lion robe, who seemed to come from a royal family. Just why are they here? His store is really lucky!

"A-Alright, I'll prepare them right away," the vendor responded promptly. With a sense of urgency, he quickly prepared two cotton candies for Asher and Dorothy, ensuring that they were made with precision and cleanliness. The vendor understood the importance of delivering a perfect product, knowing that any mistakes could have serious consequences for his livelihood.

"Here you go, Magic Knight-sama," the vendor said respectfully as he handed Asher and Dorothy their cotton candies.

"Thank you! Here's your payment," Dorothy said gratefully, handing the vendor two gold coins. However, she inadvertently overpaid, as the actual price of the cotton candy was only 1 silver coin.

"Magic Knight Sama, I don't have change for this. The price of the cotton candy is 2 silver coins," the vendor said to Dorothy.

"Don't worry, keep the change. I don't have silver coins with me," Dorothy said. It's true that she doesn't have any silver coins with her, only a bag of gold coins.

"T-This..." The vendor felt distress. He had never seen this amount of money.

With these two gold coins, it's enough to treat her daughter's injuries. It's really a blessing that the two magic knights buy at his store.

"Don't worry, it's not a big deal to lose two gold coins," Asher said while taking a bite of the cotton candy.

"Thank you so much, magic knights; if it weren't for you two, I wouldn't be able to take my daughter to a medical mage," the vendor said happily.

"Medical Mage? What happened?" Dorothy asked.

The vendor shared a somber revelation, explaining, "Unfortunately, my daughter fell down the stairs and broke her leg. Regrettably, we lack the financial means to seek the aid of a medical magician."

"Let me see your daughter. I have healing magic," Asher said. Since they are here, why not help him? This is their job, anyway.

"R-Really?!" The vendor's eyes widened in surprise.

"Yeah, so let us see your daughter," Dorothy said with a smile.

"Thank you, magic knights! I'll go get her right away!" The vendor runs towards his home, which is only beside his store.

While the vendor was taking her daughter, Dorothy looked at Asher with a smile on her face.As the vendor attended to his daughter, Dorothy glanced at Asher, a warm smile adorning her face.

"Asher-kun, you're so kind!" Dorothy said.

"It's just a normal thing to do. Nothing really special," Asher said with closed eyes.

Dorothy chuckles and gracefully covers her mouth, "You're so modest."

After a brief interval, the vendor returned, holding his daughter in his arms. The young girl, approximately ten years old, appeared severely malnourished. Her eyes were shut, with tears streaming down her cheeks, indicating her distress and pain.

"Here's my daughter, Magic Knight-sama," the vendor said with some hope in his eyes.

Asher looked at the right leg of the little girl, which was already swollen.

"How is it magic knight-sama? Can my daughter be treated?" The vendor asked worriedly.

Asher nodded and said, "Yes, it's easy."

Asher opened his grimoire and cast a spell.

Inferno Blaze Magic: Phoenix's Embrace

As the little girl was surrounded by a soothing crimson aura, she experienced a remarkable transformation. The previously overwhelming pain she had endured vanished instantly, replaced by a comforting and warm sensation. Her body felt revitalized, and even her broken right leg had been miraculously healed. Slowly, she opened her eyes, and the first face she beheld was that of Asher, gazing down at her.

"Big brother, was it you who helped me?" the little girl asked, her pure, watery eyes filled with innocence and gratitude.

Asher just nodded and didn't say anything.

"Thank you, big brother; because of you, papa will never be worried again," the little girl said with a smile on her face.

"Such a good child! What's your name?" Dorothy pats the little girl's head.

"My name is Hisako! I'm ten years old!" Hisako said, showing ten fingers.

"Thank you so much, magic knight Sama! Please tell me anything you need, and I will fulfill it to the best of my abilities!" the vendor said gratefully.

"I don't need anything." Asher said to the vendor.

"Mister, you don't need to repay us; it's our duty as magic knights to help those who are in need. Plus, Hisako-chan is so cute, how can we charge her father?" Dorothy said, gently pinching Hisako's nose.

"Thank you so much; you saved our lives!" The vendor said with a smile on his face.

The vendor and his daughter were impoverished, lacking the financial means to afford the services of a medical mage. He had been at a loss as to how to obtain the necessary funds. In fact, he had contemplated the idea of placing his daughter in an orphanage, where she would have access to regular meals, comfortable sleeping arrangements, and the opportunity to make friends.

"Big brother, I wanted to be like you too! I also wanted to help others, especially Papa!" Hisako said.

"It's up to you whether you can become like me. You need to work hard."

"Yeah! If you want to become like Asher-kun, then you need to put in more effort! He's super strong, you know? We will wait for you," Dorothy said softly.

"Really?! Then I will definitely work hard!" Hisako said with her eyes full of determination.

"Good luck then. We'll have to leave; we still have somewhere to go," Asher said.

"Sorry for taking your time, Magic Knight Sama."

"It's okay, actually. We are just strolling around. Take care of your daughter, okay?" Dorothy said.

"And you, Hisako, be a good girl for your father, alright?" Dorothy remarked, gently patting Hisako's head with affection.

"Don't worry, big sister. I will be a good girl!"

"Good!" Dorothy thumbs up.

Having said their goodbyes to the father and daughter, Asher and Dorothy resumed their walk, continuing their leisurely stroll through the town.

"Asher kun, it feels good when you help others, doesn't it?" Dorothy said while looking at Asher.

Asher didn't respond right away; instead, he appeared lost in deep contemplation. Closing his eyes, he seemed to be immersed in his thoughts, reflecting on something profound.

After a few seconds, Asher decided to speak.

"Not bad, I guess."

(Guys, I got a great Idea for Asher's girl! While I was rewatching the witch forest arc in Black Clover, I saw Fana and thought she was a great candidate! Aren't I a genius?! WHAHAHAHA!

If I make her the fated one for the MC, I will change her age and past. So that it can connect to the MC.)
