~Death the last sleep? No it's the final awaking

The founder's parade festivities still continue but Miss Mystic Falls is nowhere to be found. Till the great annoyance of Carol Lockwood. She knows Kayla went home since her dress is hanging back where she took it.

Kol looks at Kayla while she sleeps. He can't help himself but he just gotta look at her. A smile curls on his lips. "You are something Kayla Gilbert" says Kol softly, and pretends to stroke her jaw.

Kayla her eyes flip open when she hears a bounce on the door. "Bloody hell" groans Kol and steps away from Kayla. Kayla yawns, gets off the sofa and walks towards the door. With a deep sigh she opened the door.

"Stefan" she asks. "Is Damon here?" Kayla shakes her head. "Just me and you are disturbing me." "What's going on" asks Kayla ignoring Kol. "The tomb vampires attacked and John attacked the vampires. I'm worried." Stefan groans loudly and falls to the ground. "What? What is the matter Stefan?!" Kol groans and places his hands on his ears. His eyes turn blood red and his face reveals his vampire features. "What?" "The vampire device.. John" groans Stefan. "Damon" gasps Kayla. "Stay here!" "love don't" whines Kol. "Stefan, take the bracelet. Keep Kol with you. "Don't you dare" says Kol. "Kol please, I cannot hurt you and I can't leave Damon." "It's bound by blood Kayla, he'll have to join," says Stefan. Kayla groans. "Please please be careful" she says to Kol and runs towards Stefan his car. Faster than she ever did, she raced towards the town square.

"Elena" yells Kayla and runs out of the car. "Where is Stefan?!" "At home, where is Damon?!" "They're taking them to Tyler his family's old building." Kayla nods and runs away. "Kayla stop!" "I am not leaving Damon behind. Nothing you or Kol can do will stop me. I'm sorry, but I made a promise to not leave him behind in that tomb and I intend to keep it now also." Elena nods."I cannot get you on other ideas right?" "No" growls Kol while Kayla shakes her head. "Go to Stefan." "Be safe" says Elena and nods. " Seriously, no snarky comment" asks Kayla. Elena shakes her head. "I admire your strength, Kayla" says Kol and runs behind her.

"Kayla, the building is on fire" yells Kol. "Don't go in there!" "I am not leaving him behind" screams Kayla. "Kayla don't please!" Kayla looks at the burning building. Flames lick the wood hungry. Smoke disappears into the dark sky. Bonnie looks at her. "You can't go in there,, it's on fire!!" "I am not leaving him, he is my friend Bonnie" says Kayla and kicks the wooden door.

"Damon" she yells and coughs. Twenty vampires lay unconscious on the floor. Mayor Lockwood grunts loudly. Next to him lays Anna. Death."Anna," she gasps. "Oh Jeremy" she whispers.

"Damon" she yells again. "Here" yells Kol and runs towards the vampire. It is too far away so he just slides backwards to Kayla. "What the hell" asks Kayla. "I was too far away. "That's what happened then?" Kol nods. "He's there." "Damon" she whispers and kneels with him. smoke teases her lungs. Damon coughs. "Kayla, leave," he whispers. "No" she says. She tries to pull him up but he's too heavy. "Damon" she whispers. "Kayla don't", orders Kol but it's too late. Kayla pushes her wrist into his mouth."Damon drink" she says. She grunts a bit when Damon's teeth bore into her flesh. Damon his eyes fling open. He looks at Kayla, let's go of her flesh and lifts her into his arms. He vampire speed runs out of the burning building and places her outside. "Kayla you stupid girl" he curses and looks at her bleeding wrist. Kayla looks into his eyes and coughs. "Damon" she gasps and hugs him tightly. Damon his look softens. He closes his eyes and hugs her. "Why do you do something so stupid" he asks. "I don't wanna lose you" she says, tears bubbling in her eyes. "I must say, I fancy him now and then" Kol smirks. "You actually are a stupid girl now and then darling" Kol grunts. Kayla ignores him and hugs Damon.
