"Well, this party went down fast"

~According to chemistry, alcohol is a solution

Birds chirp softly on the branches which drop their leaves faster than thought. The green grass looks multicolored by all the colorful leaves and branches that decorate the perk. The flowers are almost forgotten since their blooming period is over. The wind plays with the crystal chimes, decorating the backdoor. The sun had only just crept over the mountains, reflecting coldly in the crystal water of the lake. No one should be awake at this time. But still, the young vampire boy was awoken by the sound of his new blood-linked mate's music.

"Oy, what in the bloody hell is that" grunted Kol, and straightened himself. While Kayla was sleeping, he had slumped on the sofa that adorned her room. Much to his surprise, he actually slept for several hours. "Do I have to tell you that it is still as good as dark outside" groans Kol and looks at Kayla, who slowly awakens? "Come on darling. Why on earth would you wake up at this ungodly hour?" Faster than he can keep up, she changes her pajamas for sports pants, running shoes, and a tank top. "Please don't tell me you're a morning jogger" Kol growls softly. "It appears so" he sighs and drops his head when she walks past him. "You better be worth it" he grumbles as he calmly jogs next to her. Hopelessly, Kayla tries to enjoy her morning run, but her brain is too focused on the party tonight. Papa Roach echoes loudly in her ears as she focuses on her breathing. She doesn't want to go. Why does she need to go? Again, the feeling that she's been watched occurs. She slows down and looks around. Fog creeps on her feet. No one to see. She hastily finishes her morning run, wishing that this entire day would pass by as fast as possible.

As usual, Kol sits back at the desk next to her, bored till death. Listening to teachers who ramble on about numerous facts and figures. Math, English, science, French. A short lunch break where she spends the hour all alone, eating, drawing, and listening to music. Then again, sports, which she clearly has no interest in. She could be such a great athlete if only she wanted. Economics, and finally at last... Art. Of course, she is wonderful at art. Her teacher adores her. Overexcited, Kol walks home with her. "This day was a tad long wasn't it darling? You should become a vampire, you wouldn't need school." Kayla looked suspiciously around. Again, that feeling occurs. Kol scoffs. "Looking in the wrong direction are we", he smiles. "I think you have a fan." Kayla shakes her head and continues her walk home.

"Kayla" shouts Elena loudly. "Oh bloody hell, somebody got that woman a muzzle." "What" Kayla shouts. "Are you ready?!" "Ready for what?" "The party" Kayla groans. "Oh, fuck me" she whispers. Kol grins at that comment. "Yeah" she answers and walks towards her closet. She hastily pulls out a black leather jacket with a big hood and ties her sneakers. "That's it? Teenagers of these days have no style anymore", Kol grunts and walk downstairs with her.

Drunk teens run rampant, cheering for reasons they probably don't even know themselves. Beer kegs are scattered across the damp forest floor. The loud music disturbs all the forest animals that are only trying to find peace in their houses. Everyone is having a good time. Everyone except Kayla and Kol... Once again, a deep sigh escaped Kol Mikaelson's mouth. His back leans against the thick tree trunk under which Kayla sits. He looks around irritated.

"Come on darling, you are going to deny me a good time too now also? Why did I get stuck with the most boring girl in the whole of Mystic Falls? And what on earth is it that you are always scribbling down?" He looked over her shoulder. He looks at the violent drawing of a black wolf. The beast has a wicked broad grin showing sharp bloodied teeth. Koll scoffs, amused. "You have no idea darling", he sighs and crosses his arms. Bored, he looked at his neatly trimmed fingernails. "Well, hello there," says a familiar voice. Kayla lifts her head surprised. Kol rolls his eyes, annoyed. "The stalker is back.. as expected," says Kol, annoyed.

"Damon" she greets. Damon smiles. "Quite the party am I right?" Kayla looks up. It doesn't take long before she understands his sarcastic comment. "Yeah, I'm not really in the party mood," she says. "I wonder why that is," jokes Damon. Kayla sniffs amused. "Just not really my thing anymore I guess." "Lucky me" scoffs Kol. Damon squats down next to her and looks at the moonlight that lights her face. "I really wonder why that is. Why is a young and pretty girl like yourself sitting all alone under the dark shadows of a tree. drawing. werewolves", he jokes and looks at her pad. "She's quite a pretty little thing isn't she" jokes Kol, and, for the first time, takes a moment to really observe Kayla. A twinkle appeared in his eyes.

Kayla looks up when she feels Damon staring. "Well, let's just say it has been a bad summer for me" Kayla sighs. Damon places his hands under his chin, waiting for her to continue. "Tell me darling", Kol says and squats down next to her as well. Kayla took a deep breath. "I. I don't really want to bother you with it. "You don't bother me," answers Kol and Damon at the same time.

Kayla bites her lip. Should she tell this complete stranger about what happened to her? About her sadness? She doesn't really know him in the end. She sighs, knowing that he won't give up, and scrapes her troth. "Last spring. . my parents' car drove off of a bridge into the lake. And my sister was in the backseat and survived, but...they didn't. So that's my story." Kol looks up in surprise at the young girl. So does Damon. "You won't be sad forever, Kayla" promises Kol. Damon stands up. "I am so getting you a drink," he says. "Don't go anywhere", he smirks and disappears into the shadows of the dark forest. " Yeah right, as if you would come back", she sighs, and stands up.

She takes her drawing pad and walks off. "Where you going," Kol says and hastily follows her. "Didn't the man just say don't go anywhere? Come on Kayla, I want that drink. You know it is not smart for little girls to walk alone in the dark forest" he threatens and looks suspiciously around. "Don't they teach you anything at that school?" Kayla stops and crosses her arms. She looked at the full moon shining through the treetops. A few stars light up the dark sky. She swallows and rests her back against the tree. Why on earth did she go to this party? "Come on Love, it can't hurt to get drunk once in a while" encourages Kol. Kayla bites her lip to stop the tears from coming.

Scared, Kayla jumps up when two strong hands grab her. "Bloody hell Mate" curses Kol and makes a useless attempt to hit Tyler. "Tyler" scoffs Kayla. Tyler laughs. "I'm sorry babe, I wanted to surprise you." "Yeah, you sure did," she says and takes a deep breath. Tyler laughs and places his hands around her head. Passionately he kisses her. "Ty, are you drunk" Kayla asks suspiciously. "Nah" Tyler whispers and places his arm around her. "Do not tell me that you are going to make out" curses Kol, disgusted. Kayla tries to breathe, but Tyler kisses her too intensely. Before she knows, her back bumps against a tree. "Tyler" she scoffs and looks at the sky when he kisses her neck. "Tyler, what are you doing?" "Take a guess" grunts Kol and turns his back to them. Tyler kisses her neck down to her shoulder and places his hand inside of her shirt. He takes one of her nipples and strokes it wildly. His other hand slides to the button on her pants. "Tyler stop" Kayla begs and tries to push him away. "I am not going to have sex with you against a tree" she laughs. "Come on, it's sexy" Tyler whispers and slides his finger inside of her pants. "Tyler stop," she asks once again. For the first time since she met Tyler, he scares her. "Tyler," she asks again. His grip on her hurts. Her skin slowly turns blue. Kol turns himself towards her when he senses a real fear in her voice. "Mate... you better listen" "Tyler, you are hurting me", she cries. Kol tries to grab Tyler, but all Tyler feels is a cold breeze running over his back. "Tyler" she begs once more.

Abruptly, Tyler gets pulled off her. Kayla looks in shock at Damon, who throws Tyler effortlessly to the ground. "Lookie lookie," says Kol, amused. Tyler looks at Damon and growls. "Who the heck is you man?" "I think the lady asked to stop." "Stay out of it" growls Tyler. "Drunk teenagers," Damon says and walks towards Tyler. He looked him deeply in the eye. "You left Kayla alone; she said no and you accepted it." Tyler swallowed. All of a sudden, he walks back to the bonfire. Damon turns to Kayla. "Are you okay?" Yeah, yeah I am. fine. Thank you," Kayla said. Damon gave her a reassuring smile. "You shouldn't be in the woods. This forest is dangerous at night." Kayla nods. "Noted, thank you," she says, and walks back to the bonfire. "Love" yells Kol and looks at her drawing pad that still lays on the moist forest floor. "Aren't we forgetting something?" he asks. Kayla swallows and sits down next to Jeremy. He takes a short look at her before drinking his beer. "You look like shit," he says at last. "Thank you, you are looking good too," she grunts. Jeremy scoffs. "At least I don't pretend like I'm fine," he says before leaving. Kayla sighs. She looks down and swallows. "He has a point," says Kol and sits down next to her. "Owh" he curses when Elena almost comes to sit right on top of him. Kayla looks at Elena. "Please don't give me a speech," she says, sighing. "I won't have to if you don't need one." "Not now, save it. Just save it", Kayla says, and walks back to the forest edge. "Love, remember how dangerous the forests are in the dark," asks Kol and runs behind her. "Stupid Elena" Kayla curses and drops herself down again under the same tree she sat under before.

A soft cry rings in their ears. "Ow, that hurts!" Surprised, she looks up. "Sounds like my kind of party" Kol grins. Slowly, Kayla walks over a cracking branch to a couple of figures between the thick trees. "Hey, leave her alone" she hears a familiar voice. "Jeremy?" "You know, you're starting to get on my nerves, Gilbert." Are Jeremy and Tyler arguing? For what? Slowly she steps forward. She sees Vickie, Tyler, and Jeremy standing between the trees. "Just go, Tyler, get the hell away from me" shouts Vickie and looks up to the young girl that slowly walks closer. "Well, well" smirks Kol. "Wow. Vicki Donovan says no. That's a first", Tyler says calmly and turns. It is only then that he sees her... Kayla... Tears burn in her eyes. She obviously figured out what was going on here... Tyler sighs when she turns and hastily walks away. "Hey" shouts Jeremy and grabs Tyler by his arm. Tyler pushes him hastily away and runs behind Kayla. So his plan didn't work out with Kayla, and then he just tried with Vickie? Why because she mostly says yes? To pills or balls? Why would he do that to her?

"Kayla" he shouts. Kayla shakes her head. She crosses her arms over each other and hastily walks between the trees. Fog creeps up around her feet. "Kayla" he shouts again and grabs her arm. "Leave me alone Tyler" she orders. "Kayla, come one", Tyler groans and grabs her. "It is not what you think okay, there is nothing going on. You don't have to cry about it or anything." Kayla swallows and looks into his eyes. "I really thought that you were serious Tyler. That we were serious?" "I am. We are." "No Tyler, apparently we are not" she sniffs and turns around again. "Kayla," Tyler says and grabs the young girl with the shoulders. "Oy, watch it mate" shouts Kol. "Tyler please stop, you are hurting me" Kayla whines. "Listen to her," says Jeremy suddenly and grabs Tyler by the arm. "That's it Gilbert, you are going down" Tyler roars. "Tyler, stop it. Both of you... just stop it" yells Kayla, and hastily runs away. "Kayla" both boys shout,, but Kayla doesn't care anymore. She knew this party was nothing for her. "Well, safe to say that this party went down fast" groans Kol and follows her.

"Kayla" asks Bonnie as she races by. "Kayla" yells Jeremy and runs behind her. "Kayla" he repeats. Elena sighs. "Excuse me" she says, and hastily walks behind her brother and sister. "Jeremy!! "Jeremy, where the hell are you going" groans Elena. "I don't want to hear it" yells Jeremy and scans the area for Kayla. Kayla sits behind a thick tree, only two inches away from her brother. Trying her best to hold back her sobs. "Now now love" soothes Kol. As soon as Jeremy walks away, Kayla takes a deep breath. She lets out a soft sob and places her head down on her arm. Tears streamed over her face. She doesn't care anymore. Truth to be told, she just wants it to be over. She just wants everything to be over... Tyler's betrayal. Now that was the last knife on her back. A twisted and turned knife. One that she couldn't easily get out. She looks up at the sky filled with bright stars and breathes in deeply through her nose. "That's is.. breath darling" orders Kol. He is getting frustrated by the fact that he can't soothe her. But why? Why on earth is he getting so frustrated? Was she growing onto him? Yes, it annoyed him as hell that she woke up at six AM for a morning run, but even though he knows that she'll never be able to see him, nor hear him, he wants to interact with her. He cares for her. He longs for her to feel his touch. To know that she isn't as alone as she believes... What's wrong with him? He shakes his head and swallows.

Surprised, they both look up when a cry, colored with panic sounds above the music. "Somebody help!" She hastily wipes away her tears and stands up. Kol hastily follows her. Kayla shifts and looks to Jeremy, who carries an unconscious and bleeding Vickie. "Oh my god" she gasps. She looks at Matt and Tyler, who kneel down next to Vickie. "Give her some space", orders Tyler and pushes people away. His eyes locked for a moment with Kayla's eyes. Kayla sniffs and takes her phone. Hastily she dials 911.

"911 what's your emergency?" "There's been an attack on a girl, she is not breathing and she is bleeding. We are at the forest camp, right next to the waterfalls." "Help is on the way" "Thank you," she says, and puts away her phone. "Help is on the way," she says hastily and kneels next to Matt. Matt nodded gratefully. "Put this on her neck," says Kayla, and hastily removes her jeans vest. Matt took her vest and pushed it into the gaping wound in Vickie's neck. "Vick, Vick, come on, open your eyes, look at me," whispered Matt. Kayla stands up again and looks around. What on earth did that? Kol smirks softly and takes a step backward. "So it begins" he whispers...

Kayla swallows. She sits at the diner. Elena and her friend went over, waiting for news. Lost in thought, she took a sip of her hot cocoa. Jeremy sits next to her, sipping his beer in silence. Elena sighs and sits down next to them. " You guys okay? I called Jenna, she's on her way. Elena sighs when her siblings don't react. Those people in uniforms. The last time I checked, they were the police. People are going to stop giving you breaks. They just don't care anymore. They don't remember that our parents are dead because they've got their own lives to deal with. The rest of the world has moved on. You should try, too." Kayla gave a deep sigh and placed her chin on her lower arm. Jeremy just ignores his sister. "I never cared for speeches mate. Didn't care to follow them up either" Kol scoffs. "I've seen you in the cemetery writing in your diary. Is that, is that supposed to be you moving on" Jeremy groans. "Woah below the belt mate" Kol smirks. Kayla looks up in surprise at Jeremy. " Mom and Dad wouldn't have wanted this" sighs Elena and walks away. Kayla takes a deep sigh and places her head on Jeremy's shoulder. "I'm sorry Jeremy." "Me too" he whispers and rests his head against hers.
