DATE, PART 1

Light shone into Kris' room as the morning arise, illuminating the dark room and hit her figure who already in a casual clothes, finished getting ready for the day; the 'date' with the mysterious guy.

She caressed her shin, wrapped in a bandage by the said man.

That night, she remembered how gentle he tend to her wound, the way he touched her bare leg, as if he did not want to hurt her.

That particular moment, it felt like eternity when his rough hand moves over her skin, taking her breath away at every seconds past.

She looked outside of her window, down onto a man in hoodie and a pair of jeans, his striking silver hair was hidden under the hood to avoid attracting attention from the passer-by.

She paired herself with hoodie and jeans, her everyday casual outfit that she felt comfortable with, before going down the stairs to the front door.

Her place was a small, budget apartment in the middle of the city, very small and fit for a single person.

She stopped at the last step of the stair, looking at the back of the man that was humming to himself.

Although he looked thin, but his shoulder looked firm as if he did took care of his body.

Quiet normal for a person who wield magic.. right ?

That a question she will save for later.

"It's like 8 in the morning." she said, her face unfazed seeing his smiles as he turned around, facing his body to her.

She just realized that he was rather tall, taller than her at least, perfect heights for a peck on her forehead.

Why did she think of that ?

"I won't want to waste anymore of my time. You think that strawberry milk is cheap ?"

"Enough to buy ten candies for ten children and you wasted it on me." she rolled her eyes as she walked pass him, who just chuckled at her grumpiness.

"You are more than those ten kids you're talking about. Plus, you love strawberry milk, right ?"

"How did you know that ?"

"Are you really going to waste your question on that ?"

"What are you talking about ?"

Abruptly, she turned around to look at his rebellious smile, who raised up his forefinger and middle finger up into number 'two'.

"Two out of 10 questions."

"You put capacity for the questions today ?!"

"Three."

She glared at the three fingers hanging in the air, and moved to the man that was smiling smugly, finding it amusing to mess with her.

"Then tell me, what's your name ?" She crossed her arms over her chest, watching as he put both of his hands into his pocket, looking around as if he was thinking of his name.

"Can I save the answer for the last one ? You have six questions left, and we need to go somewhere else." He said, proceed to pull her hood over her head and ruffle on top of her head. She pursed her lips, holding herself from slapping that hand off her.

They walked side by side through the pedestrian walk with their hoods on.

She followed him where ever he desires, although she was itching to ask everything that happened yesterday.

It was too surreal that she even brought it to her dream, the first dream she ever had.

That was also the reason why she convinced herself to follow him.

She never had a dream before, everything was pitch black once she closed her eyes, and everything was very repetitive until he showed up in her life.

"Here it is !" He gestured the public park with a few joggers running around the huge lake.

He proceeds to sit on the nearest bench that facing the lake and comfortable himself on the metal seat while Kris sat and watched him from the corner of her eyes, rather slowly.

"It feels so good to have fresh air one thing in the morning ! Don't you think so, Kris ?"

"How did you know my name ?"

"Stop wasting your question for something so unimportant !" He said, laughing in disbelief at her question.

She was speechless for a moment, almost trying to reply again with a question before she arrange another sentence in her mind while feeling angry at his quirkiness.

"It is important ! You never asked for my name before, and we just met yesterday !"

"Are you sure we just met yesterday ?"

She tilted her head in confusion, her brows almost knitted together as it furrows up.

"Yes, we did.. the first time I saw you when you bought the strawberry milk." she told him, somehow feeling like it was not right.

Why did she feel that way ?

Unknowingly, his face was turning into disappointment when she said that. He looked down for a moment, before he smiles again.

"Whatever, shoot me your first question."

"What was that creature yesterday ?" She asked him, eyes full of pure curiosity and uneasiness at a same time.

"It was an ancient gargoyle that used to live thousand of years ago, called Gargola. They were strong back then, but became the weakest as the creatures of Utopia growing stronger over the centuries, to the point of extinction."

"Utopia ?"

He looked up to her when she said it from his mouth, a smile immediately formed on his lips.

"Yes, Utopia, as it goes with the meaning, is a perfect place with the people live harmoniously despite being different. We were separated for our different nature. For me, it's ice."

Kris watched as he faced his palm up in the air, some freckle of ice began to swirl in his palm, and formed a figurine of a horse, beautiful and shine in ice, some icy smoke coming from the base of it.

She looked at it, mesmerizing at how breathtaking an ice can be, how it looks like some glass figurine that probably cost couple of thousands, and she also surprised how it was made in a blink of an eye.

"That's beautiful.." she breathed out, slowly reaching out to touch the figurine, slightly afraid of breaking it and have to pay for it like an expensive glass figurine.

As her fingers touch the ice, it felt so cold that it quickly hurts the tip of her fingers. However, she was still captivated by it.

Not until, some fingers ghostly brushed over her hand in which made her look up to the man, who was looking at her unfazed.

Her heart started to beat irregularly, sensing the closeness of their face to each other.

What was happening ?

And why does it feels so.. familiar, the feeling..
